Trevor said he could talk to Barack for hours, and I certainly could have listened for hours. Great job, both of you; it was relaxed, fun, and covered a lot of topical ground. Well done.
@Sarah Asaad he inherited a war and did what he felt was best to end it , i would prefer drones over actual people doing the deed, war is a disgusting unpleasant thing and there's nothing beautiful about it ... you need to talk to your boy bush

Such a relief to see Obama happy again! Best wishes from Germany! This was the first time I got mad about anything in America apart from the burning Oil fields and the war in the Bush era. I remember our male teacher breaking down crying over his typewriter that time. It was the media I think. We had new media, not owned by the state anymore but private. They made this up like the end of the world. When we looked TV before going to school, a clock always was ticking during the news. My best friend and me finally decided to put out the TV and we were not sick anymore and could sleep at night. We were just 17 then. This time I just watched on youtube a short movie about Biden and he seemed to be so fragile. Looking a lot on youtube then and reading the German news in the internet I was sick again with worries. Now, what a great president Biden is, he may just be the right person to fight corona, fight the climate change and reunite american people and help everybody to lead a decent life for their work. Good luck America from the bottom of my heart!
Yes, I miss having a president who carries himself like a grown ass man. And I miss having a First Lady who isn't a ho. I miss being respected as a nation. My overseas friends won't visit until we're stabilized again. This clown has run the country into the ground. We need to prosecute the entire Trump-Kushner crime family.
The other replies to this comment are suggesting Obama was the worst president and that somehow Trump was far greater to non-Americans. I understand people can be exaggerated, but it screams immaturity and lack of understanding of the topic for people to be so quick to make wack claims like these. I encourage Middle easterners to study their history and actually look at the policies and decisions Obama made. I find it so annoying that people claim he is a Warhawk throwing numbers like he is in x amount of wars with little care of how events actually played out nor the reason for the conflicts. When you bother to actually learn about any of these conflicts it becomes clear as day that none of these conflicts were unjustified nor 'because to US gov wants war'. Go look it up yourself the wars during Obama's administration and look into the reasons for the conflicts and how it all played out. Every war that began after he was sworn in from 2008 to the present had all been unavoidable with conflicts that forced military responses. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_involving_the_United_States#21st-century_wars
Trevor is actually a great interviewer, probably one of the best I've ever seen. I've seen some of his other interviews, and he really listens, shows genuine interest, and asks great questions.
Can we just appreciate how well made this interview is? These guys are talking to each other on screens, but watching this it feels like they might as well have been in the same room. Well produced!
@@cosuinofdeath As apposed to a sociopathic buffoon. There was nothing racist about his comment, for you to think that it was racist speaks to your internal disposition - you're projecting your internal character onto others. Trump was very uncaring and stupid to the point that he did not seem human anymore on both accounts. He was likely the dumbest president America ever had by far.
Trevor has always been like that. He is multifaceted. Often people from other countries (as Trevor described himself “international” ) have to be well-read, also parents are adamant that we take our education seriously, because that’s often our only ticket. Unlike in America where there many more opportunities, so people can prance around being mediocre or uneducated and still be “successful”. But when you dig deeper, they are sorely lacking... intelligence.
It’s totally to Trevor’s credit and how multi-talented he truly is. I often think about how powerful comedy actually is and how it seems like many people overlook this. To be able to make someone laugh who has a completely different world view than you is a rare and useful skill that Trevor has.
@@fathersamuel8474 Trump got a lot of bad things done, where Obama was more of a mixed bag. Just because policy doesn't effect you, doesn't mean its nonexistent.
@Sarah Asaad Did it ever occur to you that if you are not a bunch of ignorant uneducated backwater daughter Humper's like Trump, that you would not fall for such obvious lies?
That's exactly the very first thing I thought/ commented. You can see Obama thinking it out, planning the wording... not like he is zoning out. Rather than just blurting out something about bleach, cucumbers, bashing someone who said something he didn't like.
@@Boaz833 she's actually right, at least in that Obama had a very militaristic foreign policy and used drones and airstrikes, and bombing civilians. Also under his leadership, with respect to immigration from Mexico, America started paying Mexico to crack down on immigration coming through Mexico from central America. There's a lot of things in his record that aren't as good as you would think hearing him speak.

@Sarah Asaad Also Obama didnt lead people into the middle east. Handling could've definitely been better. My daughter and my granddaughters are biracial, so, needless to say, we were all very excited when Barack Obama was elected President of the USA in 2008. During a visit, my daughter asked the little one, who was 3 years old at the time, 'who is our new president?' Her reply is one of my fondest memories. She stood straight up, looked me in the eye, and announced with pride, ' Our new president's name is 'rock your mama.' 🤣
@joe joe by America's standards Trevor might be black, but in South Africa he is not - he goes on about this in his memoir, about growing up as biracial
@joe joe seems to have deleted his comment or had it deleted for him. From the responses here I gather it's good it's gone. I'm sure you've experienced much more and much worse. Thank you for sharing your very wonderful story. I was going to light a candle for a friend who broke her femur but now it's for both of you. And yes, I'll always think "rock your mama" when I hear Obama's name.
I've been listening to a lot of Obama's interviews in late-night shows and this one is by far the best! Trevor's questions are thoughtful, relevant, well-formed and what I appreciate most: they don't get stuck in the Trump era of it all but actually, talk about the book and about Obama's legacy and his views on it now. There are no softball questions without being rude or making him feel attacked, many many congrats Trevor and the rest of the Daily Show's team.
I was just about to write this comment,. I've watched plenty of Obama's interviews about the book and this is by far the best! Trevor is an amazing interviewer and questions are original and not basic as some can be. This was a fantastic 30 minutes and flew by.
This man, Barack Obama, is he not the traitor whose participation in the assassination of Gaddafi by the rebels financed by Great Britain, France and the USA, led to the destabilization of the whole region, until Mali and Ivory Coast? A few days ago, Malian soldiers also published photos of French soldiers looting Malian gold; Mali indeed has the largest reserves in the world! This attack on Libya by France, GB and USA also gave birth to the slavery of African migrants in Libya. Gaddafi effectively managed the arrival of migrants in Europe, and after killing him, France, under Sarkozy and then Holland, had to ask the European Union to finance the jihadists so that they preserve the border of entry into the Union European; it is these jihadists who established the new slave trade in Libya. And to think that Obama is talking about inspiring young people! What a disaster if all young people were to be like this monster!
@@hectorjarquin4320 How a man whose daughter is dating a white man , an man he let stay in his house with his daughter can be racist? I think that was one of the better interviews I’ve listened to with Ob-izzle. Trevor has a way of relating very personally with his subjects while still asking challenging questions and balances that perfectly with the right amount of humor. Truly brilliant!🙏
That's what I felt when I read his book as well - that he has the ability to relate with anyone he meets. I think it has to do with his upbringing. That's what I sensed anyway.

@@Justusson I think it was Snoop Dogg who coined this sort of cousin to pig latin of taking the first syllable or even just letter of a word and then ending it with "izzle", such as house = hizzle. I do like his easy conversation, and his humility, and ability to laugh at himself. And I appreciate someone who thinks about what he wants to say and how to express it.
Trevor Noah is probably one of the best comedians recently, and Obama is Obama, I wonder why they haven't teamed up to make South Africa a better place
It would be nice if he wasn't a fraud. He talks about barriers, but he helped put them up, prosecuted whistle blowers, and expanded the surveillance state. Yeah, we are frustrated with Mr. Obama because he did not even fight the good fight. Obama sold out big time.
I truly enjoyed this extended interview. To hear the POTUS candidly speak about his decision making mechanizations was profound. Trevor is also an excellent interviewer.
@Sarah Asaad I hope you know history and know that Obama inherited wars from Bush. How do you blame Obama for that. He had a lot of things to fix. He even tried to stop the wars which is why some US politicians even insult him. Trump inherited a pretty settled issue cos Obama had tried to put brakes to the heat of wars created during the Bush regime. A lot of achievement of Trump was because of the progress Obama made in Economy and even security. On Libya, don't blame Barack. Every nation should blame themselves when they tell other world leaders that they want Democracy. If any nation wants democracy, US supports the people who want it cos democracy is the world order instituted from the US. So if the people chose the wrong choice, they should not put it on the country they convinced to help them. So don't blame Obama on it. See the Hong Kong democrats, didn't Trump administration support them? They did. If HK turned to Libya, it is their fault and not the US fault. Also, note that same thing that the HK people did, the US government did not even give half the chance to the BLM movement. Same US that praised HK protesters who were committing arson, destroying properties of government and private businesses (of those who shared a different opinion on the fight), producing petrol bombs, fighting police, doing cancel culture (beating people, pouring petrol on them, stop patronising certain businesses) to people who had other opinions from them. The US said they were peaceful protesters and that they inspire the world - Josh Hawley said that. So, don't blame US legislators or the President for those things. Don't blame Obama, decisions are deliberated first by the legislatures/legislators before the president can put a pen to it. Only few decisions are vetoed. Syria's issue didn't start with Obama. It has been on for years on years. Go back to your history books. He even tried to stabilise things that were so heated before he came in.
@@jtgirl yet his destruction continued, how about selling guns to Mexico did bush inherit that? “ Operation Fast and Furious “, he also dropped bombs against doctors without boarders .

I agree. I always thought "Defund the Police" needed far too much explanation and was an unfortunate choice of slogans. It doesn't sound like what it is intended to mean. I like "Demilitarize the Police" much better.
Agreed but ironically we should be using ex military (if passing a post war psych examination) should be police because they'd know how to think critically under pressure and not shoot someone then claim they thought they pulled their taser gun out of their holster instead of their actual firearm. Many of these cops never went under heated situations before with people and don't know how to manage their adrenaline. military knows how to act under the most intense situations. so maybe kinda MILITARIZE the police in a way, honestly. I say this as a black, ex marine. Id rather have ex military handle brothers and sisters than some random dude off the streets that feels above the law because he has a badge.
@@ARDG89 I agree we want police who are solid under pressure and the military is a great place to find people who perform under pressure. I want to see those kind of people in a less "militarized" police system that is far more cognizant of mental health
