Oh, yeah! The more I we get to tinker with these President radios, the more we love them. Leave those limiters alone, guys! You are correct about the President Bill with this amp, Matt. Little Boy Bill is a powerhouse. Too much for this amp. Your backlog is known as job security. Keeping it real, keeping it honest, as you have from the start, has resulted in your customers willing to wait for the radios. The quality output, not the quantity, is the key to your success. 👍👌👍 Smilin' again, I'm off the key. 😑🦗
Yep getting time to tinker with this one has really helped to perfect the tune. Especially for someone looking to drive an amp. This one was setup for more avg power. Thanks for taking the time. Take care 73 💪🇺🇲
You better believe it! I run this same rig and amp BEST DEAL your gonna find period. DON'T run 3-4 watts into this amp it will overheat and blow the MosFets. 1.5 to 2 watts MAX. for this baby driver I love it!
Sounded beautiful with the echo ! I'm running this exact combo @ 2 watt dead key 15-20 swing i'm getting 190 pep as shown on my MFJ-870. This is the hottest Radio/Amp combo your gonna find anywhere at this price $ This rig is loaded with features you only find on high dollar export jobs The Dick is a great deal. Sounded better with Echo to me..........
What amazes me with this setup is that the rm203 is able to take 40 watts PEP from the Richard set at 2 watt dead key. I've never ran more than 30 pep into mine. I've always heard 35 was the ceiling. Very interesting. If this set up runs good, it really opens the door for using many other dual final radios with the same pep???
40 pep really? Glad to hear that I want to run mine on sideband and my radio is turned up a little bit I know I cannot run the amp on am but sideband im making 15-18 max watts but not anywhere near 40 pep appreciate the comment
Where do you get that little round circle thing that you prop the radio up on. First of all what is the name of that thing and second where do I get some. It looks like a good set up right there
If just running Citizen band I would go with the President Walker II, it's already set up to run an amp power level variable is set to go from 1 to 4 Watts, I guess if you wanted the extra power the Richard would be the way to go. You also get the weather band with the Walker besides that and color I think they're the exact same radio. I'm assuming you would have to modify the Richard to get Citizen band?
KLl203 with president radio seems to show hi swr. Set swr with just radio or amp off perfect turn amp on shoots way up probably 2nd or 3rd harmonic? Anyway to fix this other than low pass filter?
I did all that with an MFJ 826B I got my President Richard to do a 2.2 watt dead key I didn't have all those scopes and TV screen tuning devices I did the settings, wrote it down and continued until it was where it needed to be I'm willing to SHARE the settings with anyone that asks unlike some techs.
I care what the scope shows. That's how I set the radio up ,by using the scope..not a number in the menu. Every radio is different, there isn't a set number to go by, I go by the scope.
@@TheRadioGarage Ok what was the dead key and swing please going into the amp this is a small amp I dont want to blow it how did you set the power going into amp Sir I dont have a scope .
