President Rodrigo Duterte and my view and prediction. He is way out spoken but wants to clean up the Philippines.

October 2016 - The recent changes with the new president has not deterred us. Essentially we feel that Durterte will cut deals with China and maybe even Russia which should hopefully with the new USA administration in 2017 rushing to the Philippines to counter offers. The Philippines is in a very unique situation of at least the two of the major richest countries and and 3 of the largest superpowers all vying for trade and helping the Philippines. If the president can pull all this off and keep everyone in line the money pouring into the Philippines will be immense.

I was wondering if you had an estimated (or hoped for) date for breaking ground?

While President Duterte (DU30) criticized President Obama about his disagreement with him on Philippine Anti-Drug Campaign, this does not mean DU30 will cut ties with the US, specially now that Mr. Trump won the US Presidency. Recently, the President-elect Trump has promised to fully support DU30 in Anti-Drug campaign. Thus the relationship between the Philippines and US is still really intact, no matter what... DU30 is right in befriending China and Russia for economic, peace and security purposes while with the US ally. This is to promote mutual understandings between Philippine-China and Philippine-Russia towards peaceful and economic prosperity. I hope the US will understand the Philippine situation and for the US to follow soon to befriend China and Russia too in order to ease tension in South-China Sea issue which is counter-productive on their parts. Since we know that the Russian President Putin fully supported Trump, there's a high possibility that the US will consider bi-lateral agreements on economic, peace and security with Russia, and even for China...

I agree and I think your correct and that the Philippines will benefit from a Russia, China and US support. To me this is a really good position to be in. As I've said before having these countries sort of fight over who can give you the most infrastructure and other help is a great position to be in. I just don't think the Obama administration figured that out. Since Trump's already doing business in the Philippines going to open his Trump tower in 2017 and then a golf course. He certainly doesn't want a bunch of protesters underneath is building every day or cutting off ties with the United States. It may be a little crazy to say but the Trump tower in the Philippines may represent more about America than the US Embassy. I mean it's the building of the president of the United States as strange is that might seem. Trump is already met with Du30's emissary and and talk with the Philippine president in a short conversation where he encouraged him to continue moving forward. To me like you these are all good signs for a strong US Philippine relationship to continue forward but may be in a different way. Less military intervention and more infrastructure help from the US.
