I believe that it was written by the multi-talented, knowledgeable, eloquent Conservative/Republican speechwriter Peggy Noonan; she wrote some of President Reagan's speeches, including the eloquent, emotionally moving address delivered on Tuesday evening, January 28'th, 1986-a tribute to the seven astronauts killed in the tragic explosion of the space shuttle Challenger that morning.

The lady who's father went there in June of 44 and never had the chance to come back wrote part of it.
