I was a little girl when President Reagan was shot. Being little, I was worried about him so my daddy suggested that I write him a get well card; so I did. One evening after dinner, I was called by my dad to come talk with him and when I sat down he handed me an envelope and said, “Can you guess where this letter came from?” I couldn’t read yet but I remember looking at the envelope and I recognized the emblem but was still confused. I asked him what it was about and if I was in trouble. He laughed and opened it very carefully. I climbed onto his lap so I could see what he was reading and he began to read me a little letter thanking me for my well wishes. It was personally signed by President Reagan. To this day, I regard that as one of my most precious things I have. He really did care about every single person, even the lil ones. I sure wish that great men like that were in leadership rolls. I never was into Westerns until the last several years and now I’m obsessed with The Duke. John Wayne is an Icon that can never be replicated. You always know where he stood and he was a great father. Two of the best men we will forever remember.

Reagan had a very relaxing voice.

I live in Italy and was born in 2005, but recently I have done lots of research on US presidents in the XX century and must say Reagan is one of my favourites. He was such a humble, charming and funny person

I just remember a quote from John Wayne when he was criticized for waving an American flag to those critics he said this “sure I’ll wave the American flag . You know a better flag to wave ? Sure I love my country with all her faults , and I am not ashamed for that never have been never will be !

I took Reagan for granted when he was alive...Now I realize what a magnificent man he was. Pure class.

I had dinner with Merv Griffen and Pres Reagan about something they asked me to do later in the year and I felt heard by these men. Now that's amazing because I was just a young man with some skills but still just a young man. I learned allot in 90 min and still today the lovely and confident posture they displayed is something to aspire to. You never know what can happen in life, being with men this great is an honor and a gift. Where are these kind of men today ? Maybe it's you.

I served in the Navy from ‘83-89 and I always felt President Regan had our backs. He made us feel proud to serve. I miss him.

Just finished reading a book about Regan, Secret Service agents liked him, they said the Reagan your saw on tv in front of the camera was the same man he was in private.

He was so great and such class and when he spoke it was like gold and people always listened to what he had to say. A great president period.

"You could count on him", says Reagan. Simple and profound.

I was on two different protection details for Ronald Regan, one hell of a man and down to earth person.

As a German, I will never forget what the man did for my country. He was probably the best President of the USA. Through his fight against communism on all fronts, he paved the way for the reunification of my country. I shall never forget that.

There is no doubt that John "Duke" Wayne was a great man, but the hero in this interview was the man being interviewed.

President Reagan was the last person that I wasn't embarrassed to say I voted for during a presidential election.
