Sorry, I don't think I want him to represent me. His pretty girl comment showed he is not in tune with the younger generation of today. When he is called out on it, he thinks that others are trolling him instead of seeking to understand what is not right about it. His daughter's social media outburst also showed that he is not fully in control and is amateurish. Don't blame others when you do not have foresight to make advanced preparations. His idea of try to determine the right amount of reserve to keep is a good one. So that we don't need to increase taxes like gst and for that matter other taxes like water, petrol etc. These will increase cost of livings. By the same token, we should estimate minimum reserve to keep so that we should not try to spend beyond that as far as possible. We need new ideas

The presidents role is defined by the constitution no? Does he know that what he is vaguely talking about is bringing up populist issues and the best part is that thats not a defined role. If he needs to do that then he should talk about how he will start about changing the constitution first?

A good president is the one who knows well enough about his limited constitutional authority, can play his assigned role and duty to a nation within set boundary as stated in the constitution of Singapore.

It would have been a better fight if Mr Ng kok song and Mr Tan Kin lian could fight as one as in a GRC, then possibly one could be President and another Vice President. In a 3 corner fight, the winner must at least try to secure at least 51 per cent of total votes. Actually only one with at least 51 per cent of total votes should deem the winner but unfortunately the system is not such.

Whoever he is elected, remember the president role (morally and ethically) must do beyond what are required to justify the title President and the financial rewards. Beyond the prescribed roles, President must represent mass citizens and have interests of mass people at heart. Look at those elderly doing cleaning jobs and those (especially having certain parts of arms, legs, etc amputated)selling tissue papers. Singapore should not continue to depend too much on foreign investment playing a key driving force to the economy. The trend is already innovation and technology and can limited portions of our reserves take active role. Focus to get breakthrough too as a way to grow our reserves too. Amen om mani Padme hung

As the President of SG, I have no idea how much they can change SG with the current system (look at OTC).
