Man am I glad to see you. I've known nothing. Absolutely nothing about this thing for about 2-3 years. Wanted to start recording songs but computer wasnt good enough. So I ended up stashing it into the garage until I just recently started uploading gaming videos and streaming. And theres been absolutely nothing helpful and just wanted to say thank you for doing what did and releasing such a helpful video my guy. I tip mah hat to ya
Anybody watching this preparing to buy this interface be forewarned - It does not have line level inputs. Don't buy it. For the same money you can get an interface with line level inputs as well as mic and instrument level inputs. Direct out of a synthesizer is not instrument level, it is line level and it will distort this interface. Direct out of a mixer is also line level and will distort this interface. This interface is only good for microphones and plugging a guitar or bass directly into it - not a synthesizer or a line level output device.
These are really some great programs. I have several of the Home Recording Made Easy instructional programs and they have been very helpful learning the ins and outs of Presonus Studio One. They also have cool lessons on programming Midi drums that I bought.
David the mixer and main volume how are they be utilized? Is the mixer level always supposed to all the way up or down or is it simply preference??@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy
I ran my Studio One stuff with a Behringer interface for about a year. I had no issues until recently when I started experiencing latency issues and cracks and pops. Nothing I did seemed to work. The problem is definitely not the machine, as there is plenty of power to run very large projects on other DAWs on my system, but I can do about 5-6 tracks on Studio One and get cracks and pops. And no, it wasn't clipping. So I thought I'd try a Presonus 24c interface and see if helps using a Presonus-branded interface. I'm so I glad I wasted my money on the Studio 24c just to try it out. I set everything up, including downloading Universal Control. I can choose the interface in Studio One but I get a message that says, "The audio device could not be initialized please check your hardware configuration and try again." At the end of my rope with Presonus products. I'm seriously considering dropping them altogether and finding a DAW that better meets my needs.
Thanks so much for this! I have been taking the prehistoric route and that's getting my music to the studio for the musicians to do it for me for years and now I am finally making that first step, to what I should have done long ago: doing my own recording! I look forward to both more of your basic tutorials, and the class I am going back to the music store to take. Question. I see your speakers are nice and compact.. What kind of speakers are those and how much should just a decent pair cost?

Thanks for this video. It really helped me out. I was wondering if this device will work if you are using Bluetooth speakers? Another question is if anyone is having issues with sound not working through Google / youtube? This issue started happening to me in the last few months.

Great video, very helpful! But I got one question. Does the audio box work with garage band on a Mac book ? Doesn’t seem to read my audiobox when trying to connect my mic to GarageBand.
Hi I just received my bundle and noticed it didn't have the black/red wires to connect the two speakers together, also I didn't get my power plug cable for the speakers, is this needed?
I haven't watch all the video yet but I have a question. Is there a way for me to plug my headphones into the back of the audiobox to ear my bass while still hearing the audio of my computer clearly (exemple :a video on youtube)? I use the mixer knob but the audio of my computer sounds weird. I have dowloaded the drivers on the presonus website but haven't used the cds that came with it (it's the full kit with the mic and headset).
Hey I'm taking the beginner's course.Do I get to keep it after I'm done I would like to still run through some sections when I setup and record.Thanks.⚡🤖⚡
hi my friend, i ve just bought a audiobox usb 96 and trying to record my dj sets on interface, although i watched your process its recording but i cant see what i play on my dj deck, it is not posible to record dj set on presonus audiobox usb 96 ? thank you
The Audio Box works ok for some things but if you plan on recording guitar or bass, you will have a problem. You can’t get the level low enough to avoid overdriving your DAW input, it’s well documented.

Very informative thanks. If I plug my stereo keyboard into both inputs will the headphone monitor be stereo or does the interface sum them to mono? I ask as I recently tried a MACKIE and it was only possible to hear on headphones in mono with a stereo input. Any advice welcome thanks.
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy If I had one I would, but never mind as I just ordered a Behringer that I know does what I want and is a much better spec than the Presonus, but thanks for your time.
I have a question.. I recently bought a usb 96 interface and i am using it with Fl Studio 20.7 . When i play audio through interface , there is a clipping sound in both monitors and headphones but when i plug them directly into computer they work fine. Is there any setting or solution to solve this ?
You say that I should be able to see my audio box in the audio set up section. It's not there. I can't drop down the Windows , can't change latency . What's the deal you think 🤔. Everything is hooked up correctly ,but my tabs don't look like that ? I am a new user ,have never done this before. Just bought the product on 8/18/2021. It's probably been updated since you made these videos ?
Hi i dont have headphones with the "phones" jack yet do you think a audio jack adapter for regular headphones (simple wired apple headphones for your aux or other aux headphones) will work for my audiobox usb 96?
Does this work for MacOS Big Sur version 11.1 ? I have this software on my Mac and I was wondering if I purchase this device will it work as an input for garageband?
mornin,I have a problem/question i have a 1824 presonus interface from there im going into a macbook and from the interface im going into powered presonus 3.5 monitors, the other day i put a sm57 mic in front of my amp to record steel guitar into the studio 1-5 when i hit play back it was all garbled and sounded like crap??

Using audiobox and a new mic i got to record vocals but im not getting any playback at all . my headphones are plugged into my laptop and when i press audio box for audio device it dont let me choose my output. So do i need to connect my headphones to the audiobox showhow or change a settings?
I just purchased this audio interface to record my Alesis Nitro mesh kit. My goal is to make some drum covers and the only thing I have is a Chromebook and the salesperson at Guitar Center thought I should upgrade my computer so my question is what is the minimum requirements for a laptop to run this audio interface and the software that comes with it? Thanks
My bundle did not come with trs cables, i have the E3.5 and E4.5 monitors and all other cables just not the tsr's. Do i need them for my laptop set up with audiobox or not necessarily?
Not necessary. You can just use headphones. You may want to consider these courses. www.homerecordingmadeeasy.com/studio-one-beginners-guide www.homerecordingmadeeasy.com/recording-in-studio-one-artist
Good video, thanks. i also have an AudioBox, only the 1818VSL , and I'm facing a problem with routing the output. What's a no brainer for Focusrite or Apogee, is a life long puzzle with Presonus. I'm on a Mac. If I configure the AudioMidi to use Main 1 and 2 outputs, the headphone output doesn't work. Only if I set the output to 7 and 8 I can listen through the headphones . But, then all volume settings get locked to the one knob and that's ”Phones”. The knob ”Main” doesn't work. This means that I have to connect my monitors the the outputs 7 and 8 and if they're on, then the volume knob ”Phones” affects them as well. I cannot listen only through headphones, I need to get up and turn off my monitors... If I use the Focusrite Scarlett, I connect the monitors to Main out 1 and 2, control the volume through ”Main” vokume knob, then I connect my headphones to the headphones jack with it's own volume. This works without any tinkering in the settings, it' the default behavior for my Apogee Duet as well...
the video was nice, but i still dont understand what the knobs on the front mean. i understand the volume knob, but thatts it really. what do the others do?

I'm a guitarist and have never recorded at home before. Is Presonus AudioBox 96 Studio Ultimate a good starting point to create tracks with drums, bass, keyboards, guitars, vocals etc. PS I'm no IT geek.
Im so eager to learn how to use this stuff. But I dont know where to start..im not very techy person. I had this presonus audiobox. Dont play instrument. So I can only sing with mp3 back up while singing and recording my voice at the same time. How do I learn this? Tia
@Home Recording Made Easy You mentioned that we shoudn't plug USB interface through Hub but directly to the computer. But how to do it when we have modern Macbooks with only USB-C ports? I have Presonus iTwo but I want to buy my first Macbook with USB-C. What is your advice?
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy Ok, but you mentioned that audio interfaces should be connected directly to your computers. USB A to USB C adapter isn't the same as Hub? What's the difference when it comes to performance?
@@FreakyAndrew a hub splits the connection meaning your audio interface would share the available bandwidth with whatever other stuff is connected. Additionally not all hubs are capable of providing the bandwidth you get from the connector on your computer, ie they may reduce your USB 3.2 to just a USB 2 or even lower, which is generally bad.
can this be used for adjusting livestreaming output volume? For a game. Say my current volume is low to not distract the neighbors but i want to stream the output volume to be higher.
These might be stupid questions, but I’m new to learning about recording with mics, as well as preamps and audio interfaces in general. Would recording audio with an active ribbon microphone and this audio interface mean that a preamp wouldn’t be necessary, or would a preamp still be ideal? In addition to that, would I also need another XLR cable connecting from the microphone to the second input on the front to activate phantom power, or would pushing down that button, without having to have another XLR cable activate it? Sorry if those questions seem obvious, but your help would be hugely appreciated!
Nope....no stupid question here....You would plug an XLR cable into your mic, then into input 1. Push the 48v power on the front of the Audiobox USB.....ONLY IF THE MIC NEED IT. Please refer to your user manual before doing this or you run the risk of damaging the mic.
This tutorial was a lifesaver. I still can't record or hear anything when I sing into the mic. My Mic is plugged into the audiobox, I followed your instructions and changed the "recording device" to audiobox, I can hear the guitar track in my headphones, but I hear nothing when I sing into the mic and the track is blank, picking up nothing when I try to record?
I plugged my Audio Interface in my computer and when I went to go select it in the audio set up, nothing came up. All it says is "Novation USB" and "Windows Audio" What should I do??
This is such a generalization that I cant possibly answer this here in a comment. You need to learn basic recording in you DAW. I would search RU-vid for how to do that
Hi there, I'm using studio one 5 and if i go to audio device settings. There is no option for a recording device. It only shows my playback device. That's why when i tried recording it doesn't come out good.
When clicking "configure audio device" mine only says "audio device", it doesn't say "Playback device" and "recording device" like yours. Will that be an issue for me? I'm already having trouble getting the guitar effects in Studio One Artist to play, all I hear is my clean guitar through the headphones.
Hi there i am absolutely struggling to use studio one 4 with my audiobox 22vsl. I can't get any sound at all through the headphones and it seems loads of people have the same issue but no solution seems to work. Would greatly appreciate any guidance you could offer
@@HomeRecordingMadeEasy thanks! & Oh! Question. When I go to Audio Setup, I don't see the two options: Playback and Recording Device. I only see one option: Audio Device. Also, I don't see an AudioBox 96 option at all.. only AudioBox and some others. I have Windows 10 and the default option says Windows Audio. For some reason the program won't detect the AudioBox 96 it seems.. any ideas or thoughts?

@@Kurovespertine I know it's been a year, but did you make sure you aren't plugged into a USB 3.0? Sometimes the AB96 doesn't play wel with USB 3.0. Try for USB 2 or USB 1, 1 being the preferred method.
Do you know if I can just use the Presonus Audiobox 96 with a USB charger (like the one for an iPad) and output this on speaker, no computer? Can I basically just use this as a preamp basically?

Hello , I have a audio box like the one in this video. How do I set 2 headphones up to listen and 1 for the vocal booth. There’s only 1 headphones output ,so I’m kind of stuck.
Hi! I have a question. So I've done all of these steps, but when I record there is crazy white noise/static under the recording. I didn't press in the 48V button, so I know it's not that, I've tried multiple USBs, I've turned off my fridge, AC (all environmental noises) and I've also tried the "turn your phone off" trick. Any tips to get rid of that background noise?
what should i do if it won't let me change the settings on audio configuration? is there another way to do this? (no drop down appears like in this clip)
Thank you for your informative video. My son gave me the discontinued "audiobox usb"(not 96) as he upgraded, does "studio one" come with this or is that addon you have to purchase?
My AT2020 keeps randomly dying while in the middle of using it, when trying to diagnose the problem using this One Studio 4 software I ran into the problem of it identifying my USB 96 but, it's stuck on 44.1kHz sample rate and will not let me change it. Also, I have no 'playback' or 'recording' device drop down menus like you do in the Audio Setup page. It allows me to change my microphone sample rate in my PC sound control panel but idk if that has anything to do with my problem or what do to.
Hi. Thanks for the Video. I'm trying to get my audio output on my normal speaker or USB Headphone thats connected to my PC. However, my Studio one looks slightly different than what you show at 8:00. I cant chose between "playback device" and "recording device", all i see is a single dropdown menu where i can use my "audio device". Everything else looks exactly the same. Using Win10 64bit. Any advice?

I’m confused. I have a MacBook with only micro USB ports and you say not to use a port. Ran into a problem with the sound being poorly picked up in audacity. Originally thought it was the brand of the audio box and now I’m just stuck. Please help.

03:57 "Don't hook up the USB cable to a USB hub, but rather plug it into an actual computer port" (I'm paraphrasing). That's sound advice (no pun intended) but the unfortunate trend in recent modern laptops (even high-end ones) is to have only 2 (if you are lucky) USB ports. Often the power cable takes up one of them, leaving only one free. Almost certainly you will end up needing a hub just because there are simply not enough USB ports on modern laptops. Ya... I know... it stinks... But that is the trend these days. So like it or not, we probably are going to have to go through a hub with our cable coming from the AudioBox device. It's unfortunate.

Im having an issue with my setup. My interface doesn't show up on the scroll down menu, and im not getting audio through anything but the interface. Computer setting say the driver isn't installed, and the computer isn't registering any audio on studio one, or bias fx2, or external speakers.
