Press Conference: Houston police search for escaped fugitive in Downtown Houston

Houston law enforcement is searching for escaped inmate Nigel Thomas Sanders in downtown Houston. Sanders, in custody for three burglaries and unlawful possession of a weapon, escaped during transport from a court appearance. He hijacked a car, which crashed shortly after, and fled on foot. He was last seen near the bayou after briefly holding a staffer hostage. The University of Houston Downtown was locked down but has since given the all-clear. Report sightings to 911 immediately.
