Thank you! Since there are only two of us here, I cut the recipe by 1/4. and it was perfect. Cooking time was all of 5 minutes and the potatoes were done to perfection.
Looking forward to trying this recipe with an old fashioned Pressure Cooker-with the rocker on top AND I'm going to do it outside on a Coleman stove. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you, this is one of our favorite dishes in a pressure cooker. I've made it three times and it is consistently good. I'm Ukranian/Slovak and this is so similar to what my Mom used to make.!
We love our beer in P.R. We have a dish called "arroz con pollo" and we make a version were we replace a lot of the water with beer. It does not give you a buzz but it is very good. I have always wanted to cook other things, like sausages, with beer but my kids don't like it.
+Cookingwith Rick (Cooking with Rick) Yeah, as long as you don't get carried away and make the sauerkraut sweet lol. I just got an electric pressure cooker yesterday, it looks like this will be the first meal cooked in it! Ted
Also try it with sauteed onions, then make a true mash out of the potatoes (IMO, yellow potatoes work best and don't generally have to be cut when putting them in the pressure cooker, nor even peeled since the skin is so thin, so when the dish is done, just put the potatoes in a bowl and mash with butter and cream). Then serve it by layering the sauerkraut and onions on the bottom, then kielbasa, then mashed potatoes, then sprinkle Parmesan cheese when you serve it.
