• Pressure Washing Busin...
If you want to be your own boss, starting a pressure washing business is a great way to go. Just ask Ryan Woods, who makes $500 a day as the owner of Emerald City Power Washing. That’s pretty impressive for a business that first opened its doors less than 2 years ago.
Unlock FREE Access to the Pressure Washing Masterclass: bit.ly/3WBNXer
Ryan worked as a general contractor before starting Emerald City Power Washing in 2019. That experience working with both homeowners and commercial clients helped him hit the ground running when he started his pressure washer business.
In part two of our interview, we’ll hear more advice from Ryan on starting a power washing business that thrives. He’ll explain what experience and training has helped him be an effective power washing business owner and his approach to gaining business knowledge and improving his processes.
Owning any business takes time and commitment. We’ll take a first-hand look at the day-to-day life of a power washing business owner to find out how many hours Ryan works in an average week and how he spends that time.
He’ll also talk us through his approach to managing his staff and client list, and how to balance employee and customer satisfaction with growing your business revenue.
If you’re wondering how to start a pressure washing business, you need to see this video. Business owners across industries could learn a lot from Ryan’s quick growth.

The lack of knowledge from the customer side of things. People do not know much about pressure washing they are willing to hire just about anyone the first time without really knowing anything about them or their business or quality of work. I think this guy is a hustler and grinder like me but he lacks a lot of knowledge regarding this business and he did horrible at giving the info the viewers need and want. I would love to do a video like this regarding reselling items online because i know it would go viral haha. Love the content UpFlip the channel idea is super unique and amazingly done. Everyone who is watching this video thats knowledgeable regarding this business is probably very aggravated because this guy lacks a lot of experience and knowledge regarding pretty much everything but he is out there making money and thats all that matters. I feel like having good equipment is key but being knowledgeable and giving your customers the best service possible is also a huge plus. When it comes down to advertising its best to do things old school at the beginning because its cheap but successful, flyers, business cards and word of mouth. Networking and building relationships is very very important in this business and with any business for that matter. Being able to properly quote a job is key as well. Overall this business is defiantly something worth starting if you are prepared to work your ass off and if you understand the business side of things and know how to make leads and sale jobs.

Why do people come on here to leave negative comments on someone who's just trying to motivate. I don't understand what type of man bashes a man in a RU-vid comment section. This is not a pressure washing video. It's a starting a pressure washing business video. Being in front of a camera makes some people nervous. Doesn't mean you have to automatically bash the video. I use Square for my distribution business. I'm working on expanding my sources of revenue and I'm out here in Bremerton in Washington and this guy put pressure washing in my sights because I already do it as a sort of therapy. But square also uses an appointment system where people can ask for an appointment and will have to select from his availability. Which If he schedules jobs on the app is will show when he is busy. 1st appointment can be in person or over the phone for a consult. And then if he goes into a maintenance package he can charge monthly quarterly or annually. Whatever he chooses and then he just need to create those extra jobs as they are making the plan.

Hose reels aren’t needed but would be the first thing I would buy if I was you. Helps a lot with this you can wash house and flat work . For roofs you would need a soft wash system

If you've got a good commercial pressure washing machine rated for 4 or 5 gpm, doesn't that machine require that volume of supply water to operate? What do you do at a residential property that can only supply 2.5 gpm or less? Won't this destroy your machine?
@UpFlip
@UpFlip 3 года назад
Hopefully an expert can shed some insight on this Chris. Quick research shows that single-family homes, should have a minimum flow of 6 GPM. This flow would provide 360 gallons of water each hour, which would be sufficient to meet most home water peak demands
@chrisgraham2904
@chrisgraham2904 3 года назад
@@UpFlip Newer homes with 3/4" or larger supply lines are recommended by code and will achieve the 6 GPM rate, but many older homes have 1/2" lines and old lead and steel pipes are often restricted by corrosion and only delivering the equivalent of a 1/4" line. Nothing you can do to control the condition of a residential customer's water supply lines. Best to test the flow with a 5 gallon pail and time it. If the flow does not exceed the requirements of the pressure washer, it might be wise to forgo the job rather than destroy your equipment.

I bought my 4gpm at power equipment direct. It costed me about 1,300, but you really can start out with one from Home Depot. Just make sure it’s CU is over 7k and you get that number by multiplying the gpm x psi. Best advice is not going with an electric. They just don’t have the power that you’ll need.

Essentially, a Honda pressure washer is your best bet. I bought a cheaper Ryobi pressure washer, that uses a Honda motor, years ago. I've used it many times, and it does fine. I would say you really only need super high pressure on concrete.

Well, if 9 out of 10 people come to you asking to have their roofs cleaned, and apparently you are one of the few guys who do the job, why don't you advertise "roof cleaning" on your truck? Put on a good paint job on the truck, with you logo, your number and "roof cleaning". And put on a website with the services you provide and some prices "starting from". Truckwise I always love when people or companies do a paint job and make their vehiclea lool like racing cars. Full of color and logos. It's just fun. I wish you all the best.

@@divulgewithchip1099 my bad. Well here’s the deal with that, his machine is capable of running a 4gpm pump. If he hooks up with a line that has low flow or let’s the pump sit on idle for too long, the uploaded recirculates the pump water to keep the pump cooled. The buffer tank is used to keep supply water at hand, and pump water recirculating. If he’s doing this 5 days a week with out one, that pump is toast. That’s not a cheap pump either. But, I’m not the one that should be saying this, I’m not giving the advice. I’m just a nobody. And never claimed to be more. I could however save this guys equipment from failure.

Don’t do what this guy is doing he is scammer.... what I did was start small I got a $350 pressure washer with a gas engine NON ELECTRIC.... bought a $30 water hose 100ft... if you focus on cars and wood I recommend Low pressure 1600 or less because you can cause problems and unless you have insurance to fix those problems then you are screwed. I did a fixed price for driveways usually around 75-125... cars make it cheap $10
@jtimken5.7
@jtimken5.7 3 года назад
He used the wrong nozzles... all you need is some simple nozzles that adapt to the end of your pressure washer wand a turbo nozzle is for when you want to do medium sized areas like walkways or small driveways... shampoos and conditioners are not beginner tools but certain things like rust spots in driveways need stuff like that but don’t worry about the soaps.
