Back in time when we all knew where the doors were without them being painted a different colour.

Panarail your videos are first class. I just wish there was a train seen like this nowadays. So many locos just wish i was ten years older as i was only two when these clips were filmed

In the mid 70's I used to go to Preston most Saturday mornings and during school holidays from Leyland to "spot". I remember trains from Liverpool & Manchester (diesel hauled - usually 47's) joining at Preston into one train and going forward, electrically hauled, to Carlisle & beyond. Engines were stabled at Ladywell house (north east of the station) and in the sidings at the south (west) of the station. Double headed class 37 taking the oil trains to and from the docks. Summer Saturdays saw "Peaks", 37's and 47's on excursions and "summer Saturday only" trains. Class 40's & 25's were common on freight and parcel trains. Electrics ran the Glasgow to London expresses and I remember the class 87's particularly as they were brand new around that time. Those were the days. Can't seem to find any footage of those days at Preston here on RU-vid unfortunately..............

If you ate at a Mk 3 buffet car, you were a person going places.

Love the unusual WCML formation - 47, dead 86, parcels bg, full mk3 rake and motorails! Do you recall what it was working?

tsangpogorge looking at the set i'd say yes as it has a standard class buffet and is 2+7.
