I came back into fishing late Feb this year as my two kids wanted to go fishing. Had a couple of sessions out and then found the ICS system. The downside is that we went into lockdown before I could try any. Nevermind as I'm well prepared for when we can. Also great that you went through both the ICS and ICM as I didn't know the difference but makes perfect sense now you've explained it.
Am impressed with the design of the bombs and feeders in the range Joe and have just invested in the ics bombs, pellet feeders and banjo feeders plus moulds in different weights and sices to give em a try
Not a true inter change system unless you use the longer stem. This should be pointed out as many must have found this out by starting with a bomb or small feeder and cannot change to a large method for example.no review I’ve seen has pointed this out. Still a great system with the long stem in place 👍
Hi Joe what I'm waiting for is a method feeder shaped like the distance/drennan shape but in smaller sizes and weights. If Preston bring that out I will be so happy. I have used the ics system and love it especially the conversion to the paternoster system stem. Hope you and your family are staying safe Bill
@@MatchFishingFilms Hi Joe thank you for the reply. I did like the crack about Marlin in your leader knot video. One of the reasons I use my leader knot is not just that it is strong but it's slightly tapered shape passes through the rings better. Talking of rings I remember you testing a Browning feeder rod with Fuji K guides. I had my beach rods re-run with them after watching Fuji's video on why they developed them and how they work with some high speed film! One of the things I like about my feeder line choice is that is doesn't suffer from the frap ups that braid can produce. Once using 60 lbs braid and a shock leader the lead was climbing at high speed and the wind blew a loop around the butt ring with a loud crack and 60 lbs braid had snapped! Have a look at the official Fuji video I think you will enjoy it. As always keep your informal video's coming, very enjoyable, and you and your family stay safe. Incidentally I think that in the near future we may well see some slight relaxation to the lockdown and having seen the surfers on the Cornish beaches I feel I will be picking up my rod soon. Fishing on my own i don't think i will be breaking any laws. Kindest regards Bill
Hi. I used the ICS system this week at Eyes Kettlebury with great effect for the first time. Brilliant and simple to set up and use. Even just about used the stem alone in the evening for top fishing. What would make system perfect for me is a nice slide on bubble float. Quick change of feeder for float, quick change of hook length and off you go again. Any chance of Preston producing a float?
Joe can you do a video on flicking out a feeder under hand ,just cannot master this thanks.PS loved your video on ways preparing pellets ( pretty new at pellet fishing your tips brilliant .cheers joe.
I love the ICS feeder system... But it doesn't matter how many I buy, I always!!........ have to nick a nail file off the missus or some emery cloth and file them down.. Talking about the "Line Gap".. I think out've 200 different feeders over then last 10 years, only 3 were considered usable at shop bought... Same can be said for 99% of groundbait tho..
Hi Joe just looking back to your ICS cage feeder when fishing light lines only 4inc lengths I have had some problems with the hook length getting caught in the cage is there something I am doing wrong as set up as you have shown. Keep up the videos. All the best Bill J
Hi Joe, great video as usual. I’m a big fan of both the ics and icm ranges. I’ve noticed that there’s no mention of the dura banjo feeders on the ics. What conditions / venues are they best suited for. Thanks
To be honest it isn't a feeder I have used too often. I know they can be very good though especially when waiting for bites as it contains the bait nicely.
Great info, I’m sold on ICS/ICM systems got rid of all my other methods etc. I bought some new and / replacement ICS pellet feeders, and noticed they are now closed in ( more like icm pellet style) ie. not like my existing basket type. My question is are these new and replacing original basket style?. Also why does the inline connection beads such a loose fit in to stem, the ICM push in more snug to stem , more like style I used before converting? Great vid keep up the good work 👍
The basket style will still be available, they are used extensively throughout Europe, those guys love that style for stickymag. Some fit lovely and snug - you do get the odd one that is a bit looser though.
@@MatchFishingFilms Joe, thanks. All the ICS connectors I’ve had not just a few are very loose to fact that they fall out my various many ICS stems I have, and as they are injection moulded they should all be exactly same size. In fact only way to get a snug fit is to use a connector from your competitors manufacture 🤔
Hi Joe, do you advise using a short, 3-4 inch hooklink with the inline cage feeder? Also is there a higher risk of tangling on/around the feeder if you do?
I'm using dura slip from 11 - 17 and have trouble will the 13 breaking whilst catching 2-3 lb carp even before its bottomed out I'm also using the new type dacron connectors that seem more like a plastic has anyone else noticed the same
I like the system and use most options. But I do struggle to put new elastic in the elasticated versions when it needs replacing. Is there an easy way to do this Joe?
So is this same as the guru X safe system ? Which I have but all my tackle is now Preston except method feeders and to be fair I love the moulds Preston do where you click out the feeder from the mould and am transitioning all my non Preston stock to Preston , the bulk of my equipment is Preston and have spent a small fortune on Preston equipment but didn’t bother with the ics system as I wasn’t sure how it worked compared to the guru X safe if it is the same kind of system I will purchase the ics equipment and moulds to replace the gurus ones
The icm and ics is a pita, I thought I was buying ics feeders only to realise they were icm, just means I have to take em back to the shop for a refund.
