I remember her in the Breakfast Club, and the obvious Sixteen🕯Candles🕯,and some others. One of my first crushes. Great movie, FUN! AND ENTERTAINING! Pretty in Pink wasn't my number one choice, but after seeing it a few times, she(Molly Ringwald), she was talented, extremely talented. Overlooking her beautiful eyes and smile, she was spot on with her acting! Also damn funny too.
my favourite movie ever, absolutely love it! it's so quintessentially 80s, the hair, the fashion and the excellent soundtrack. molly ringwald looks as gorgeous as ever 😍
She hated John cryer. Hated him. She was so pissed she couldn’t get Robert Downey Jr cast. That was the studios and hers first choice. She gave him a hard time and cold shoulder during filming….,
@@erichramone7812 Yup, and interestingly Jon Cryer and James Spader, who played polar opposites in the movie who get into a physical altercation, were actually very friendly with each other. Cryer said that Ringwald and McCarthy were not all that welcoming to him but Spader was.
I absolutely loved everything John Hughs made. He really spoke to my generation who were the teenagers of the 1980's. A lot of people give him guff about not having people of color in his movies but that was missing the point to many of us. He was speaking to what an 80's teen was back then... If you're young and really want to know what it was like to be an 80's teen?! Go out and buy a big bag of popcorn and your fave soft drink and find all John Hughs movies. By the time you're done you'll know who we were.
Yes the high-low. Brideshead Revisited mini series, have you guys seen it? And, Back to the Future, many's intro to scifi, time travel, to now that interdimensionals vibrate high enough to appear to us. And how physics can be explained plainly enough for Even me! electromagnetism's a thing apparently.
😃 Wonderful memories of going to see this movie 🎥, on its release. And I am the same age as almost all the original actors. Such great memories , of what now seems like a life time ago....
me too! I'm 52 this year. I saw it several times when it first came out and its been my favourite film ever since. as you say it seems like a lifetime ago!
Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles and my personal favourite is *drum rolls* tadaaaaa The Breakfast Club. John Hugh's is truly a mastermind. Also Annie Potts was also on the show Designing Women. Love this trip down memory lane.
Amen...they were the best 3!!! And...the music soundtracks were absolutely amazing!!! Music and movies will never be the same!! It was just such a feel good era...life was so much simpler and just less stressful!!! So thankful for RU-vid and even satellite tv that keeps these movies alive in our hearts!!🤍🤍🌟🌟⏳Love the Breakfast Club...and the Brat Pack!! We can't forget St. Elmos Fire!!! Such iconic music and movies that forever will be where you can rmbr the day and time of what you were doing!! I will forever be a fan!!❤❤😉😉😉🤍🤍🌟⏳🕕🏆🏆
Miss those funny awesome good time movies with awesome sound track and good acting and story line damn time have changed and Molly still looks phenomenal
Used to have a huge crush on Molly Ringwald. She’s very pretty in that pic. Glad to see she didn’t destroy her looks with a lot of unnecessary plastic surgery, like so many other celebs.
Yes she has a NATURAL beauty that needs zero plastic help. I can't remember, wait.... TARA REID, went the plastic surgery route and yikes! I'm not going to bash her, but why does a absolutely gorgeous woman feel the need to physically alter themselves. If their "man" wants it, maybe they need to DUMP the dude. Sorry, again I'm trying NOT to be a judgemental oaf, but I knew a beautiful young woman I worked with. We were close friends and she confided in me that her BF wanted her to get body piercings on certain parts of her body. 2 piercings NOT her 👂ears👂, and one spot lower and another even lower yet. The fact that these 🔩bolts🔩or studs can cause permanent damage? Was of no consequence to her BF. Then he wanted silicone implants. HE wanted them. When I asked her, "What did SHE WANT?", her answer? She didn't know because she had no "say". That BOGGLED my mind. I'm NOT a social justice goof, BUT a womans body is HER BODY. Nobody has the right EVER to "demand" that she alters her body. I told her to tell him this, F**K OFF! She didn't, and later on his true colors emerged and she was left with holes where there shouldn't be holes, and plastic in a place she didn't need it. Now if SHE CHOSE that route that's HER CHOICE! NEVER let anyone make ANY decisions on what you do to or with your body, EVER! Man or woman, your body is YOURS! And NOBODY has the right to say otherwise! Sorry for the dictation and the be yourself brigade, but always ALWAYS LOOK OUT FOR YOU! ALWAYS! Or you could end up with some artwork on your back, your butt, belly, arms, or you chest or Boobs. Your gorgeous as you are! You don't need any help from the peanut gallery.
Lucky you!! Never got to see her in person. There’s a great clip on RU-vid of Simple Minds performing “Don’t You Forget About Me” at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in honor of the 30th Anniversary of “The Breakfast Club” The camera keeps panning into the crowd and there she is, my girl Molly, looking as stunning as ever, and palling around with Taylor Swift. Come to think of it…I believe I STILL have a crush on her 😍
@@charliegrifo9668 Ha ha fair enuf. Her version of that track is not bad either. I nearly decorated myself when I heard she was bringing an album out. 🤩
It just goes to show the longevity of the cast members. Molly Ringwald was really the age she was supposed to have played. John Hughes seemed to have a sense of just who was the best to play certain roles. No one makes movies like this anymore. I think that the American Pie series was the last attempt to have crazy teens trying to make it through high school and all the nerds that made their way was as well. But that franchise did not hold up to the teen movies of the eighties. There was still an innocence about it all.
I read the book first & watch this movie. Different ending. I like the movie ending with Andy & Blaine together. Great casting. I grew up with a big crush on Andrew Mc Carthy ... his smile truly melts my heart!
Molly Ringwald is still my 80's goddess next to Lisa Bonet. I still love this movie as well as the others like "Sixteen Candles" and " The Breakfast Club." Andrew McCarthy is still one very hot looking guy.
Now, if we can only locate Michael Schoefling, who is determined not to be found. God! He was gorgeous!! Love the line in Sixteen Candles, where she mouths to her Dad, "He's the boy!"...so sad that that sort of young, infatuated innocence is lost forever, in today's upside down, depraved, degenerate, confused society...
Loli thought molly ringwald was a goddess I loved her in every movie...I use to pretend I wsdger boyfriend lol I'm glad I got to live and grow up in the 80s what life that was thank you guys for this memory shock
Now this is my favorite 🎥🍿🎥🍿🎥 movie of the 80's!!!! I 💕💕💕💕💕 love Pretty in Pink, love all the actor's who played in it!!!!! It got me through my teenage year's❤️❤️❤️❤️!!!!!!!! 🥀🥀🥀🥀.......
Look at Molly. She was beautiful and cute back then, and is just plain beautiful and beautiful now. That was a fun movie, and so many in it went on to have great careers.
If I think of the 80s', it hit me Pretty in Pink with Molly and Andrew; the music of Pet Shop Boys with Dusty Springfield!! That was a heck of a movie and an icon of the era, no way I could forget all of it!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥🎥
Thoroughly enjoyed this review! What a classic gem! Harry Dean Stanton RIP 🥀 was also in Dream A Little Dream another of my favorites. A real shame about Alexa she would’ve been so successful. 🖤
I did not look at this video yet, only one reason im leaving a comment... I was a Yung little man when this big show appeared, I loved eavry woman that appeared on it!! I wish all the actress and actors the best!!
In 1982 I was in middle school in the San Fernando valley, Molly went to my middle school, at that time she was coming out in the facts of life tv show, I only had her in my PE class. I have loved all her movies and tv shows!
Molly looks fantastic. I loved her as well in a movie that they just wouldn't make today and shouldn't because they'd ruin it with being overly PC... The Breakfast Club.
