The reason why Miranda act like the kiss never happened it’s because this episode was in production before First Kiss, Disney always premiered episodes out of order so some storylines don’t make sense but if you watch the season by the production code order it makes more sense!
Yeah I don't get why Disney does that. Seems they only did it mostly in the first seasons which sometimes hurts shows in the end. Girl Meets World is one of the ones that sticks out to me the most. It was so obvious the first season was done out of order based on Farkle's hair alone. And doing that definitely ruined people's overall perspective of the show bc I've always said it continued getting better especially the 3rd season. 🤷♀️
@@TheCGoerlich Ooh I agree with u about Girl Meets World, particularly with season 3. The 1st 7 episodes of the 3rd season actually did air in the correct order, while the rest of the season aired COMPLETELY out of order

the comment about Jake with the purse and the jacket reminds me of an episode of the suite life where the twins dressed as girls in a beauty pageant to win bikes & their mom was relieved THAT was the reason why they had on dresses… mmm disney!
Crazy. I listened to this today and I gasped at Jennifer's story about a young actress saying she didn't get a role because she was "unf***able". Just now, I got an email from Entertainment Weekly News and the story at the top was about Elle Fanning recalling how she didn't get a role when she was 16 because she was "unf***able". 😮
I would imagine she has complicated feelings with this show, considering she and David Henrie were dating at the time in addition to being love interests onscreen. It’d probably feel awkward for her to talk about it in-depth.
I love how open david is about his dyslexia. I too have dyslexia and fully under stand that struggle. I am 33 years old and would do the exact same thing count the paragraphs read it in my head so many times before I had to speak it. Was picked on by both teachers and students. I for the longest time was so embarrassed . The best way I describe it to people is I could read in my head or out loud the same Page 100 times and not comprehend what is on that page because my brain is working so hard on decoding and processing the written words. Vs once I got an IEP when I moved to Massachusetts I had a read and extended time along with a second teacher taking notes in the class room which was then copied for me to have those notes and they truly went above and beyond and I ended up with the highest GPA I ever had when I graduated high school. When I see written words or have to spell I sound out and spell very phonetically. Silent letters are the worse but also like the phonetically PH makes an F sound why not just use the letter F. I think too with dyslexia I know my best subjects generally where Gym 😂, but also algebra and science because it was very black and white you are right or wrong there is no grey area to assume or be Trapped in like English or literature to be honest where it’s all about interpolation bust also the rules are so complex. Especially with punctuations. The other side of dyslexia truly is seeing and thinking backwards which i think truly is a gift because we can problem solve in other ways. When I was younger my spelling word would be was and I would say out-loud and Write down SAW. b and d would get flipped some times too and it was very hard especially having a older and younger siblings who did not have dyslexia and where straight A students and I was being held to their standards and not noticed for doing and achieving my personal best! I am so thankful for those who normalize dyslexia and speak on the challenges! David I have always been a fan of you and your dad and honestly I have so much more appreciation for all that you do and have achieved a long with empathy because I fully understand the daily struggles and the every day challenges along with being dyslexic! Thank you and Jen once again! And Jen I love how you genuinely want to educate your self on all things and I seen that especially in this episode with asking questions and acknowledge it’s ok to ask questions when it comes from a meaningful place. Im assuming the reason why Lucy’s character doesnt recognize the relationship between them was because it was supposed to be before thr first kiss episode but they put it in the wrong place 🤣
That's my thought too. This prom--dance episode was filmed first, but Disney switched the order---say it with me, *D-I-S-N-E-Y* (David's voice)... Other networks do this, as well, but it seems more often, or, at least more obvious on *D-I-S-N-E-Y.*
The Murrieta Animata spell always tripped me out because I’d be watching the show from my room in Murrieta, Ca as a teen. Also, my maiden name is Espinoza, so Humanoza Espinoza and Murrieta Animata made me feel like the show was playing tricks on me. 😂

I thought of the Max with the matching purse moment as of Max is Alex’s lap dog. Like because he’s her little brother, she uses him for certain things like if she’s lazy or whatnot. It doesn’t have to be a sexuality thing lol.
I figured the reason why Miranda didn't remember anything about what happened in the last episode she was in was that maybe they shot the episodes in order, but they were aired out of order? If the first kiss episode aired after the prom one, I feel like it would have made a little more sense.
I was hoping they'd address something that happened in the beginning of the Episode. Right before the intro song plays, there is a moment when Justin gets fed up with Jerry, Teresa and Alex bugging him in front of Miranda, and then he kinda out of nowhere takes this buns bag and throws it at Jerry so they would shut up. Selena looks so surprised in there that it looks as though that moment was spontaenous and almost looks as if she was going to break character. Do you remember if that moment was supposed to happen like that and if that reaction was genuine?
THAT is EXACTLY, what that joke was about. But it was indeed a different time, where that kind of joke was perfectly acceptable, thought of as funny and not questioned. But indeed things have fortunately progressed.And thank you both seeing that and bringing it up.
One thing I appreciated about this episode was when Alex went to help Justin & she tried to dance with the 11th graders, their response was, “Why would we wanna dance with an 8th grader? Get lost” instead of it going a different way. And in true Alex fashion she goes “I’m in ninth grade you big idiots” but that didn’t change their minds. I dunno, I just appreciated that moment so much

I always thought, in the story, the zit episode chronologically took place before the first kiss episode. It just aired out of order. IDK if that's true, it's just my head canon.
Are we sure Pop Me and We Both Go Down wasn't simply before First Kiss in production order? I ask because during the First Kiss and You Can't Always Get What You Carpet episodes David and Jen made it a point to say how You Can't Always Get What You Carpet was first in the production order. So it would make sense that Pop Me and We Both Go Down simply came before First Kiss instead of the explanations David and Jen attempted to come up with. In this same regard The Supernatural likely same in production order before I Almost Drowned in a Chocolate Fountain given how Alex reacted to the pocket elf bite in front of Riley. Also I did get the impression that Jerry thought Max knowing too much about women's fashion was a problem, possibly a worry about his son liking women's clothes too much. It's the same sort of joke we saw in Suite Life when Carrie was relieved Zack was wearing girls' clothes in the beauty contest to win new bikes. Apparently Disney thought parents worrying about their kids' future sexual/gender identities was funny and it's good to see we have moved on.

I must be dumb because I thought "I think we just got another problem" meant 'oh no, Alex did something again' or 'ugh Alex had Max do something again' because it's not the first time, especially in Season 1, that Alex treated Max like a slave 😅That's how 6-year-old me saw it anyways. I've rewatched WoWP many times and only now at 22 years old am I actually getting it lol
Loved that you guys talked about the weird order of the episodes! I think episode 18 was supposed to air before the kiss one because if you watch it in that order it makes sense! But Disney didn’t play episodes in order so maybe they accidentally released it too early?
I wonder if this episode was supposed to air _before_ the First Kiss episode, but in the episode shuffle (that David and Jennifer mentioned a couple time) got aired differently, and that's why they act like the first kiss didn't happen?
Has absolutely nothing to do with the pod, but I had a dream the other night. Jen was there, and we had powers and wands. The 2 things I distinctly remember are, I tried doing a spell but was unsuccessful because the ending words were similar but didn't actually rhyme so it didn't work. Then the one spell I remember verbatim was "You don't think I'm gonna win, no surprise. Until then, I'll turn you into a burger and fries" and turned whoever it was into food. It was definitely an interesting dream.

I think that even though this episode was aired after the first kiss, it looks like the events on this episode happened before First Kiss. Like... in Season 1 we still didn't have a story where episodes really connected with each other, so all those events could happen out of order.
I always thought that this episode was portraied before the kiss episode, and it was just a mistake on the organization of the episodes numbers. Loving the podcast ❤
But harper WAS inthis episode. She was in an outfit to blend in with the theater and she spills her drink on Justin and says something like just because you don't know you're my boyfriend doesn't mean you can go sneaking with other girls behind my back! So then Alex says "now how does that spell sound again?" And Justin says "like it should have already happened" and then they start doing the spell

Also, when David is recapping the scene with Max and Alex, starting at 18:26....Resulting in Jerry saying, at 19:13, “Now, I've got a different problem”....It's a joke that doesn't age well---There are quite a few other shows (around this time and earlier) on various networks, Friends is one of them, that have these lines-'jokes', as well...
I always thought that the timeline in the show (especially the first season) wasn't exactly linear since they filmed it where every episode is kinda like a standalone and there weren't really any recalls to previous episodes so I just justified in my head that maybe this episode was actually before the first kiss episode and shows how Justin & Miranda first met and then continues to the first kiss which adds a layer to the handshake at the end.
Okay, but why I am rewatching this episode. And after Max leaves upstairs, Alex goes to Jerry and tells him she caught the trophy, I then see a production mic come down from the top of the set.... WHY AM I JUST SEEING THIS?! I have rewatched wizards quite a few times 😆😅🤣😂

Season 1 episodes were not aired in chronological order. That's why they aired their first meeting after the first kiss episode. Alot of other chronological problem in season 1
I loved when Jerry would get in trouble with Teresa, max would also be there and he would always just have the cutest comments that would make it worse. Like the wiz tech episode where the plot with max, Jerry, and Teresa is that max and Jerry camp out on the terrace. Jake was 2 years older than me at the time and I literally LOVED him
I also never understood that, according to the internet it's cause they aired those two episodes out of order , now i assume disney plus has them out of order also, which is why they meet in this episode but in first kiss are already together. Yess have lucy on the podcast!
That’s one thing I never understood about streaming services. Put the episodes in their proper order! Even if they aired in the wrong order why keep them that way?
I thought that Jake moment with the purse was an allusion to his sexuality. But Jerry's "I got another problem" wasn't that he had a problem with Jake's possibly being gay BUT that he wasn't prepared for having that sort of conversation with his kids and he doesn't know how to tackle it.
No, that really bugged me too. When I was re-watching and from your previous podcast, you guys said they recorded the entire first season and rearrange the episodes from the order that they recorded them in so maybe that’s just some thing that they didn’t catch when they aired it but yeah, I thought it was really weird because I was like in the first episode they’re together but now all of a sudden they’re strangers
