About Pretty Little Liars:

Barron Jones Y’all act like a guy can’t be confused. Hanna had just told Caleb that she never stopped loving him and then just told him it was just them going back to the past “only for a minute “ , which was her saying it meant nothing, so of course he’s confused because he thinks he just got played (which we as the viewers know he wasn’t). Knowing this, of course he’s going to try and convince himself that being with Spencer is the better choice and tries to fix his relationship with her. It’s not like he didn’t have feelings for her at all, b/c unfortunately he did, but he just simply wasn’t in love with her, and that’s something that cannot be helped.

Well, Spencer and Toby broke up and were separated for 5 years, so not, it is not wrong if Spencer was on Hanna's place, since Hanna even gave her permission to it and was engaged. It's just so damn unrealistic this high school sweet heart reunion. Like i would accept one couple (maybe Spencer and Toby, since they were matured even as teens), but all of them? Holy crap.

Why does PLL always have the most emotional scenes. I swear. Spencer didn’t want to hurt Hanna. You could see when Caleb starts talking and Spencer looks at Hanna to see how she’s reacting. This scene brings me to tears because of Hanna and Caleb’s past relationship and how Caleb has moved on with one of her best friends. Not to mention, he was talking about one of the nights he began falling in love with her best friend. That to me is heartbreaking.

The acting was on point especially Ashley's who didn't even say anything. I am pointing this out because I remember some blog writer or critic wondering if Ashley had the acting chops to pull off this story line, and this scene precedes to shut that thought down.

+Birdie Wolf Yes, I agree. You could feel that gravitational pull of heartbreak & sorrow in all three characters, especially Ashley. Silent cries speak the loudest, & her actions spoke out loudly. I'm very excited as to what all the characters will bring to the table in the upcoming episodes.

Yeah, I wish people would see that friends like Spencer and Caleb can also have chemistry and STAY just friends too. That’s what I hate about TV shows nowadays. We can’t have a great friendship between a guy and a girl where they are strictly platonic because they need to use them for some drama and plot device. @@titealicia0108 yea, unfortunately… I really liked Spencer and Caleb tho. Their chemistry I could feel through the screen… and they just matched with their level of maturity. Sorry not sorry but I will always ship them in the five years later. In the beginning Hanna and Caleb made more sense and I can’t disagree on that I loved them too. But in real life stuff like this happen, people grow apart. I think what happened between Caleb and Spencer was beautiful and sincere.

If Marlene and the writers did ONE good thing that last season, it was THIS scene because it is STILL giving. The writing, directing and the acting - from Troian, Ashley and Caleb - was all just perfect. Everything aligned. And there was no music which made it feel that much more intimate and emotional. This scene had me in tears feeling bad for spencer who loved both Caleb and Hannah and was trying to protect both of them. Hannah still loved Caleb but it took her too long to realise it and couldn’t tell spencer bc she felt bad for how she felt. And Caleb didn’t even know Hannah was there when he still loved her and he still loved spencer and his head was completely scrambled ! and the fact Caleb didn’t even know why he couldn’t go in bc they where covering up a murder and she was desperate to let him in ugghhh!! This was probs the best lol scene ever filmed !!!!!!

You know what? This scene was so beautiful and emotional. I was starting to like Spaleb, but this really made me ship it. I will always be a proud Spoby and Haleb fan, but you can't deny the chemistry that's always been around Spencer and Caleb. More than either of the other two ships. And seriously guys? There is no need to hate on Spencer like that. If you hadn't noticed, they're not in high school anymore. They're grown adults. Spencer shouldn't have even had to ask Hanna if it was alright, but she did because she loves and respects her friend. And honestly? Hanna. Was. Engaged. She was moving on with her life. Grown adults or not why would a bestfriend want ANYTHING to do with her bestfriends ex. It’s no such thing as caleb and hanna were just highschool anytime sex is involved it’s no longer puppy love or just for play. Spencer was a literal horrible friend. She would never stand for one of the girls dating toby and every fam knows this. This screwed up the whole show because hanna got engaged to A NEW MAN, not to ezra, toby or a past ex of her friends. That’s the diffrence and I always side eye a woman who even thinks oh we’re grown i shouldn’t have to ask if it’s ok because you shouldn’t because no REAL friend would ever want a man whose lived with, had sex with, planned a life with or dated a friend of hers

For all of you saying that spencer didnt do anything wrong because hanna said it was "ok" . okay imma explain . when one of your bsfs start dating your ex obviously your gonna be disappointed and OBVIOUSLY your gonna say its "ok" because you wanna see your bsf happy . Agreed. But everyone keeps forgetting how Spencer asked multiple times for Hanna to tell her the truth about her feelings for Caleb. Eeven after Hanna and Caleb kissed, Spencer told Hanna “You should’ve told me” and Hanna KEPT DENYING IT, while she wa wearing a fake ring so no one can know that she and Jordan broke up. I mean I’m all in for friends before boyfriends but come on. Hanna should’ve been honest! Also, after this scene I really HATED Caleb. Cause from this speech anyone that doesn’t know the whole story would probably think that he is madly in love with Spencer! When he clearly wasn’t. I go back to this video every time I miss PLL and this is hands down the best scene in the series! Troian, Ashley, and Tyler's acting and portrayal of their roles was perfect. They make you feel the pain that their characters are going through. I love this!

I wish they were end game to be honest. I am close to that scene which btw I have never watched just because I know that Caleb is choosing Hanna. I don’t hate on the couple, but when they were in high school- they were really one of the cutest. But ever since the 5 year gap, everything made sense for Caleb and Spencer to be together. He was so mature for his age even in high school. And she was always the smart one. Both of them are clicking and the chemistry they had… seriously I understand what they did to hanna is not fantastic, but to be real she had a fiancé and she told Spencer to go for it. I would never understand why everyone ended with their high school sweethearts, because this almost never happens in real life. I understand for Aria and Ezra. I get why everybody saying Spencer is a bad friend. but she's not. she asked Hannah before doing anything with Caleb. you can't help who you have feelings for. Hanna should have and could have had a more mean and rude reaction (which she is absolutely entitled to have) , but she didn't, because she's a good person and great friend. If Spencer can have the right and is justified to be upset about Toby's new girlfriend and their engagement, then Hanna has the same right and justification for her same feelings over being betrayed and seeing her fucking BEST FRIEND with her ex boyfriend Caleb. You're all a bunch of hypocrites.

Spaleb didn’t have good development. The writers didn’t show a natural transition from friends to lovers and instead forced it all into one flashback, which also happened to take place not too long after coming out long term relationships.

I just watched this..I remember when I first saw this scene... I broke down then and I broke down now. The acting is brilliant. It makes me think of any love triangle that you could have been in and hearing the person you love the most tell someone else that you also care and love that they love them.

Both of them kind of messed up; Spencer had all the right to date Caleb giving the fact that he was a free man, but she knew what she was getting into by getting in her friend ex boyfriend's pants, and Hannah broke Spencer's trust by kissing her partner. They BOTH made mistakes, that is what the pretty liars are most known for. Hannah is not Caleb's owner, I do not recall that even being a rule in real life, that you CANNOT even go near to your friend's ex partners. Yeah, is a pretty shitty move, but Spencer was not the only one to blame here, also I should add that Hannah was ENGAGED, so why are we only pointing fingers at Spencer here?

hanna is entitled to her reaction about their relationship. caleb was her first serious relationship and she probably gave permission to spencer bc she felt as though she wouldn’t get affected and thought she could handle it. spencer has no sense of what a girl code is at all like who cheats with both of her sisters bfs and dates their best friends ex knowing full well how serious their relationship was? she was messy as hell and i do not sympathize with her and i think everyone being mad at her is not hard to understand given her history.

I just love how Spaleb fans like to use this scene to say Caleb “chose” Spencer over Hanna when their ship is only staying afloat because Hanna’s keeping her breaking off her engagement quiet to keep the Spaleb ship afloat 😂. I do believe in girl code to some extent but lets forget about that for a minute. Spencer shouldn't be in a relationship when she is constantly questioning if they still have feelings for someone else especially their best friend. Spencer always seemed worried (not concerned about feelings) that Hanna did still love Caleb and vis versa and that they would get back together. In the season 6 finally all they did was work together on a plan, they were getting along yet Spencer was acting like this jealous and wronged lover as if Caleb already betrayed her. Weather she was right or wrong is irrelevant, she didn't trust that he could be around Hanna without old feelings coming up and she couldn't trust her best friend. That is an unhealthy relationship not to mention Caleb snuck around behind her back to just have a drink with Hanna and has now cheated on Spencer. I know the Haleb fans (I am a major Haleb fan) love to pick on Spencer for her role in the love triangle but they were all awful in this situation

I felt bad for each characters at first I really was against Spaleb, but slowly it made me accept it then seeing Caleb and Hanna doing small loving gestures and seeing Spencer react to it hurts, but it was right though damn.
