PRETZEL CRACK | The Best Buttered Pretzel Snack Recipe EVER! | Easy & Simple Party Snack
This is one of Rob's absolute favorite snacks - Pretzel Crack aka Christmas Crack. I usually make this once a year around Christmas time because it's kind of addicting and keeps you coming back for more!

PRETZEL CRACK
2 - 16oz bags of mini pretzels
1 bottle of Orville Redenbacher Butter Flavored Oil
3 tbsp or 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Powdered Mix
Put pretzels into a JUMBO sized plastic bag or put into a large bowl.
Combine the Butter Oil and Powder into a bowl and WHISK well! NO POWDER CHUNKS!
Add mixture into bag and be sure to coat each pretzel! Over the next 24 hours, let sit on your countertop to marinate, and flip the bag every few hours! Then ENJOY!

Oh my! You should really start with meijer butter flavored braid pretzels. Add butter, worechestershire, onion, garlic, laryers seasoning salt, dill, lemon pepper, s&p (to taste) let that soak in then do butter flavored popcorn oil with ranch packet, dill, lemon pepper and garlic. It'll be the best you've ever had! ❤️

I use similar recipe but the pretzel mix goes in a deep roasting pan and you turn the pretzels every 15 minutes for 3-hours. May be a little messier since you are stirring/turning pretzels but IF you do the Ziploc bag method for 24-hours won't they only get turned a handful of times if you take into consideration that you may be sleeping and/or doing other things. Just wondering how often YOU, the videographer, actually turned the bag during a 24-hour time frame. I do like that you stated the purpose for the time because I was wondering how all that butter/oil would disappear AND I like that you said the longer you let it sit the better it will be. I'm making "Nice" pretzel treats with milk chocolate and sprinkles and "Naughty" Christmas Crack with the Popcorn Butter, Garlic Powder, Ranch Dressing pack AND cheddar pretzels. Nice little gifts when you put in snack-size bags. Merry Christmas to all and happy baking and/or bagging!

What a great gift idea @GigiLuvs2Sing! And for us, we flip the bag every couple of hours (or whenever we walk passed the kitchen.... and we don't get up at night to turn them, we just do it in the morning!

@@CharlaniEveryday I actually wound up doing your method and I was sold! I did exactly as you said. I just turned/flipped the bag whenever I walked into the kitchen and my "crack" wound up being processed for about 2 days before I started bagging it. I just had someone text me for the recipe because her daughter is wanting more! I sent Carie the link to your video. Thank you for the helpful hint!!

Does it become more salty that just the plain pretzels? I was thinking that I should try on regular and one unsalted bag, but not sure.

I love your recipe, but I am a firm believer in not using plastic bags to mix food in. It can lead to several problems. Improper storage of food in plastic can lead to bacterial growth, introduction of bugs and rodents, and chemical leaching from the plastic itself. Many people assume that all plastic bags are safe for food storage, that is definitely not true. When using plastic containers, the RIC factor is very important. #2, 4 and 5 are safe for food and water. #1 and 7 can be used, but should be avoided. #3 and 6 will definitely leach toxic chemicals into the food and water. I use glass canning jars, glass storage containers, silicone containers, cloth food sacks and stainless steel. Be careful with mixing in zeploc bags it will cause BPA reaction and poison the food.
