Thank you so much for this video! I just finished your built to birth course and my mindset towards birth has completely changed. Now at 35 weeks pregnant, I feel excited and confident about the day I get to meet my daughter at a birth center. Thank you so much Bridget! What you do is truly a gift from God for all nervous mothers out there. God bless you and your family. 🥰

Just wanted to let you know Bridget and everyone else here, I gave birth to my first without any medication in a water birth and I did everything she said. I went with my body's natural urges, I didn't push during crowning I simply took deep controlled breaths allowing my perineum to stretch. I birthed on all fours but after his head popped out I brought my leg forward into a lunge position for the next contraction then my bub popped right on out into my arms. I didn't tear at all. Was the best experience of my life. I'm currently pregnant with my second and hope and pray everything goes just as well as my first 🙌

Just to normalize, you can do all the right things and still tear, and it's okay. I did stretching, massage, saw a pf physio for months, had a home water birth on all fours, and my babys head was 38cm and had a nuchal hand and turns out my hymen was still entact, and I had a 4th degree tear. I did eventually have to really, really push her out because there was just a hell of a lot of baby and forehead and hand in there! And you know what? It was okay. The first two weeks really sucked but I got through it, and I feel content knowing I did my best. Still going to do things the same way for my next baby

4th degree tear? If you do it again, you'll have another 4th degree tear. It happens alot. Please take alot of advice from a doctor because, a 4th degree tear is a life long problem. C section is better than a 4th degree tear.

I had 3 babies without tearing with either of them. And they were actually quite big (8.8 to 9.9 lbs), so I was very surprised. With baby no 2 I had shoulder dystocia and he was still born after one push (4 min total). What I think helped with me was the fact that I didn't feel the urge to push with my first and last baby, so I was able to listen to my body and let everything stretch more while pushing. With my second I think it helped that I spent a few hours in a warm bath. I gave birth laying on a bed all 3 times, because I had contractions in my legs and so I wasn't able to stand in the end. I am very grateful, because I felt like myself pretty quick and I was able to focus more on the baby and breastfeeding instead of my pain and healing.

I feel like it’s important to note that induced labour is often so much more intense, and after a shot of pictocin or another synthetic oxytocin they may really need the epidural. The pains at that point are not equal to the pain in a natural physiological birth x

Congrats on number 3!! I’m very nervous about tearing. My mom had a 4th degree tear with me, and has had problems because of it even at 63. My baby is measuring big, 5lb 4oz at 32w5d. I know the ultrasounds can be very off, but referencing it to my anatomy scan it seems to be a trend of her being big, so I’m more inclined to believe it. 😭 I’m worried about tearing but at the same time I don’t want the doctors to try to use her size as an excuse to induce me or c section.
@Fnb-cb-200
@Fnb-cb-200 3 месяца назад
If doctors use it as an excuse to do a C section for you, it's for your health not for them. Yes, 3rd degree tear, 4th degree tear and also episiotomies are gonna cause severe damages later in life. Your main goal has to be your health. In this channel you can clearly see that she has mentioned in the description box where she won't be responsible for anything that's gonna happen to the viewers and she has mentioned that you have to be responsible for your health. If she's 100% sure about her teachings, she won't mention something like that right?
@naturallyintoxikated
@naturallyintoxikated 2 месяца назад
@@Fnb-cb-200 Actually not true. She has to mention that for legal reasons, which does not mean she is not 100% sure about her teachings. There are always unforeseen circumstances which happen in nature, and she has to cover herself legally in case someone tries to sue.

@@naturallyintoxikated why would someone sue her if she's teaching the correct things? I'm wondering. Nobody should get scared if he or she is teaching correct things and are 100% sure. No hate for her but, so many women want to try vaginal birth just because of her teachings which is absolutely wrong.

As a pelvic floor physio specialized in maternity care, I loved this video Bridget! Thank you for bringing awareness about the pelvic floor and especially tightness. I think one tip that has helped my clients feeling the release of their pelvic floor during pregnancy is to sit on a rolled towel so they can feel the difference between the contraction and the release (on the contraction it should feel like the perineum lifts off from the towel, and on the release it comes back down). Anyhow just thought I would share this little tip! Thanks for the wonderful video!

I was given pitocin without my knowledge (BY A MIDWIFE!!) in my first birth. Which led to me asking for an epidural. Which led to fetal distress for my son. Luckily they tapped back the dosage of the epidural which helped him and I could feel the pressure and need to push. They tried to coach me and tell me when and I told them “I don’t need to right now.” Which is about all the advocating I was able to do for myself because I didn’t know any better. He was out in 7 mins and just a few pushes but I still tore slightly. This time I won’t have any IV at all so they can’t sneak something in on me. Plus I feel MUCH more seen and heard than I did before. I switched practices and wish desperately I’d know about them before. Here’s to an unmedicated birth any day now. Seriously. Please make sure to do what's best for your body. I mean, natural is not always the best and our bodies no longer tells us how to progress for a natural birth. It's because our bodies are no longer made for a natural birth. Next time, try to do a planned c section and it will go smooth only if you manage to take painkillers. Now I'm 11 weeks with baby #2 and really wanting to do things differently, Lord willing, because the stitches, bruising, and pain distracted from just enjoying my new baby. 😕 I would also like to try delivering on hands and knees or upright but feel so on display! It makes me angry how in 2024 hospitals are so removed from how woman birth naturally.
