6.01mm tightbore inner barrels get a bad rep because they tend to jam. Most of the time people dismiss the barrels as being too dirty or inconsistent and overlook bb's completely. Different size bb's are different sizes ranging from 6.00mm down to 5.80mm. Obviously if you get bb's that are 6.00mm in size they will always jam where as bb's sized 5.80mm to 5.95mm will jam less often since they have a clearance space of 0.06mm to 0.16mm. You don't want to get too small bb's because then you'll loose compression and your FPS will drop. A good BB size for a tightbore barrel is 5.90mm to 5.95mm +/- 0.01mm. I like Javelin since they sell them at the local airsoft shop down the street from my house.

Why would you spend the money to get a 6.01 tight bore only to use 5.90mm bb's? The whole reason for a tight bore is so that there's a tighter tollerance and more consistency. Spend the money, get BB's that are manufactured consistently to 6.00 or stick to a 6.03mm barrel. I appreciate what you're saying in your video but I think the conclusion in your video's description is way off.

if i use matrix bb's which are 5.95mm with a 6.01 mm tightbore barrel will it jam?

Moral of the story.... tightbore barrels are pointless and a headache. use ones 6.03+ and not have to worry about these jamming problems.

matrix bb's are good but I've had a couple jams before. then a friend let me use Airsplat brand and they were great so I would suggest those too.

I use a 6.01 barrel with elite force .25 and it works great

So is there really a point in a 6.01? A 6.03 can use a bb with 5.97+/- 1 while making a .06 space. A 6.01 must use a lower bb diameter, the spacing between bb and barrel is about the same in both case.

After owning one I would honestly say no, there is no point in a 6.01. Get a 6.03 or higher.

I just bought a 6.03 tightbore barrel and the bbs fall straight through the barrel, but when I put back on the rubber bucking, they don't go through. Could my rubber bucking be the problem of continuous jamming?

themadghillie Yeah, all I did was put the hop up rubber bucking back on to the barrel and left the hop up unit still off while rolling down bbs . I thought the problem was my bbs as well because I've been using tsd and elite force .25 bbs for my gun ever since. I just returned the 6.03 inner barrel because I got it mainly for a shorter length and cut down my stock inner barrel with pipe cutters, re crowned the end of the cut side of the barrel till it was flush, and cleaned out my barrel really good. I didn't want to have to change the type of bbs I usually buy at my local airsoft store because I really like tsd or elite force bbs. I figured it was my bbs not matching the barrel size so I just did what I did to save some money and my gun works awesomely now. Thanks for all the other info btw👌👍

themadghillie lol, ikr. That's a hard decision and thats why I just decided to cut down my stock 6.05 inner barrel so that I wouldn't have jamming issues. In some cases, there are some other parts you might have to replace and upgrade along with your inner barrel and may even have to change your bb size :\

I've dealt alot with 6.01 tbbs and they are nothing but a headache. The distributors in my area no longer sell them because of so many issues. Once you drop your bore size below 6.03 you actually start interfearing with the backspin on the bb. So even with a good bucking and top of the line polished finish bbs you still end up with a 5 foot spread at 80-90 feet. Don't waste your money. There are far more effective ways to achieve consistency in your accuracy and range then stuffing your balls where they just don't belong. Nuff said. Lol

Because you are shooting with a shitty gun...i shoot 165 feet before bbs starts to fly..and im using a 6,01 .the madbull 6,01 gave my m4 0,38 joule .and no they dont jam with 6,01 .just buy king arms bbs ...i play full auto with rof 25 no jams so far .and we play in the wood where dirt everywhere . Get your facts right.

My facts are straight and my gun is far from shitty there bud. I've tested multiple tightbore barrels from multiple different brands. Clearly you haven't researched much which shows you're obviously just another fanboy seeing what he wants to see. Pull your head out of your ass kid.

Josh Paquin all i know is my gun dont jam and my friends guns dont .and we all shoot with 6.01 damn far and hit our targest ...its all about buying the right BBs .

Josh Paquin we have people like you that have the same opinion as you do .and they are amazed how well our guns perform when they are gettin raped on the field with our accuracy at 150 feet. We are using 0,28 perfect BBs for 1,69 joule and the 6,01 barrel.

I buy the highest grade of double polished BBS you can get in Canada man and it ain't king arms haha. King arms are okay but you can get better. BB bastards are the best on the market here. After using three different AEG's (2 of them stock and 1 all upgraded internals) our results were pretty clear. Just think about what the hop up bucking does, it creates back spin allowing you to tweak the flight path of the projectile. That backspin is going to be affected if the bb is in contact with the entire inside surface of the barrel. It's simple physics really. If your 6.01 is working well for you then I'm very happy for you, but we've had so many bad experiences here that the techs themselves have taken them off their shelves.

Id rather keep my airsoft guns stock as there wont be much you can do to improve accuracy as non of the barrels are coiled and because bbs are plastic they will slow down quicker the only way to improve accuracy is to buy heavier bbs stocks and grips may help keep on aim but even they are preferences for comfort I prefer to keep everything stock apart from the iron sight which I change for a red dot reflex sight as it give a crear line of sight and better target acquisition
