What you should do is put a tracker inside the bike tube, fix with epoxy resin, may require grabbing the hacksaw, spot weld, sand it down level and spray paint, normally it will last 5-10 years for a long life small one, so when you anticipate low battery repeat the process. The thing that is important is where the bike is after being stolen, when prevention has failed, it is gps and the bike will be going outside so you can follow to where it loses signal which will be indoors. Some trackers work on mobile internet so you can pinpoint accurately, wait for the residents to leave, pick the door lock and "steal" your bike back

I have one off these. Not as my main lock, because I know this can be snapped in a second, but as my second lock. It's good that is has a vibration function, so it will trigger the alarm when they try to tamper my main lock.

Overall a good alarm if you're bike's parked in an area with security guards -- they can get alerted. The only downside I see is when the thief uses a bolt cutter. He can risk setting the alarm off, but he can still run away with the bike if the thief has an accomplice waiting in a standby car. Thanks for sharing. (LIKED & SUBSCRIBED)

I would think that you could brake the case if you hit it hard enough, it is a plastic exterior but the locking mechanisim is metal inside,

I got a new speaker (JBL xtreme) few days ago. If I put it somewhere where I cant watch it for a moment. For example when Im playing basketball while the music is playing. Then I use a device like that and tie the speaker on some object nearby so nobody is gonna take it when im not seeing it. The lock that I have has 3 number code lock which similar with most bike locks. It also has a motion sensor in it which starts making that loud noise if its shaked. It also starts making it when the lock is tried to be unlocked. Sorry for my english btw. It might not be the best...

Anyone please me. I put in batteries, I lock it. And I scan and scan I just couldn't not scan the lock on the app. And it keeps alarming. I take out the battery and put it back still cannot stop the alarm and cannot scan at all

Cool lock, but does it have vibration alarm timeout? I would like the alarm to stop after 30 seconds which is typical for alarm locks. Having it go non-stop is silly. It should scare the thief away after 3o secs. Having it NOT turn off means the thief can pretend he is the owner without a key and now needs to brute force/destroy the lock for the sake of the noise for everyone else, after 30 seconds everyone's going to be on the thief's side... I was going to but this product but it REALLY NEEDS ALARM TIME-OUT ability (even as an option) *EDIT* I did more research on Amazon and their description says alarm times out after 30 seconds, good.

You didn't do the vibration test. I'm interested in this merely since my motorcycle keeps getting hit by people trying to park or pull out at my work. My question is, will this give my phone a notification when the vibration setting is on, if the bike is bumped/vibrated?

$17.33. Is it not possible to crack the housing? And if a thief turns off the screw (without moving the device) and removes the battery, is no alarm soundable? What if the batteries are empty? How long do the batteries last? Can I leave a bike over days, weeks, months? Alarm goes off, but you can unlock with new batteries (I suppose).

It would be cool if you can link the speaker wirelessly to other speakers, so you can hide wireless speakers around your neighborhood (on top of light poles and old phone booths). If a thief is able to disable the built in speaker on the device, it automatically triggers the wireless speakers you hid around the neighborhood, so the whole neighborhood will be yelling "thief!, Thief!, Thief, get the thief on the bike!" and it will seem as though the heavens are closing in on the unsuspecting bike bandit.

I don't like that I have to be in Bluetooth range to get notification that the alarm has been tripped. If I'm inside the grocery store and someone cuts my cable, it'll make noise, but my bike will be long gone and I won't even realize my alarm was tripped.

I read a review on Amazon and the owner had his bike stolen..the camera footage showed the thief fiddling with the lock, got it open and no alarm...not for me...

I dont recall, we typically dont have it the tamper mode but I will test it out.

Good review care to update on the lock,is it still working? I use a Schlage high security chain almost the size of a logging chain, the alarm lock may be a better option....safe travels.

@@neilcaress9036 I just got this I will use it in addition to my cable lock, the main purpose is when I am sleeping my bikes are locked directly under my window and will alert me. It just makes it a little harder for someone to take it. I also cover my bike so people don't know its a high end bike just by driving by.

@@rjahn3000 I really would not trust my favourite "high end" bike to a cable lock at all. They are very much second rate protection. They are ok as back up for wheels and expensive saddles etc. I lost a nice Marin MTB some years back after having left it cable-locked to a solid metal railing for 6 minutes. Honestly a thief with bolt croppers or bigger cable cutters could be 100 metres up the street on your bike before you got to your door!

Du brauchst ein funktionierendes Telefon. Sie können ein Passwort festlegen und die App auf jedem Gerät herunterladen und das Passwort zum Entsperren verwenden.

Yea, we were probably going to put it in a Vlog, Maybe I will do a specific video. We were overnighting in Coos Bay Oregon on our way south. We were on BLM land along the ocean and in the rain and wind someone cut out bikelock and removed both bikes. We posted all over facebook about it and someone did find one bike stashed in the woods (the bike in the video) unfortunately my Giant with the electric motor has not been recovered yet. It is soo frustrating to have stuff stolen and really puts a bad taste in our mouth for the area. The community really stepped up to find our one bike however and we are hoping the other one will show up somewhere too.

Doesn't answer your question other than to say less than 329 feet. It depends on whatever class of Bluetooth the manufacturer used. A few blocks away? I thought the whole point of riding a bike was that you can easily lock it up right outside where you are going. If there’s no bike rack nearby I always find something. Lamppost, planter box whatever. If you’re in a shop or restaurant you’ll be close enough that you’ll hear that alarm I’m pretty sure. Anyway I just ordered one of these so I’ll let you know if the bike gets stolen!

First any movement from the people other than the user with the phone, it will trigger a warning if the vibration mode is turned on. If the movement does not stop in 5 seconds, then it wil alarm for 30 seconds. Then they need a screw driver with small head to remove the screws first. That will trigger the alarm without stop. If the thief is determined to take the batteries, then alarm will stop because of no battery power.

Admittedly I didn't read every comment, but I was just curious where you were when your bikes got stolen? I mean what "state" (as in US), and were you on BLM or camp grounds? That sucks, I feel for you guys. It is scary to think people are poking around your house while you are in it.

A bike thief with bolt croppers would be through that cable in a second or two and be riding off leaving the alarm behind. From experience they know that people do not react quickly to alarms as we hear so many. I would not trust a bike I value to a flimsy cable. I might use it as a secondary lock for front wheel etc. in conjunction with a very strong D-lock or chain--then it might serve a purpose. I don't think any cycle insurer would regard that as serious security on its own. Incidentally a thief would probably be able to reduce the volume level of the alarm considerably by applying 2 or three layers of duct tape over the sound aperture!

Here's a very big thing, I have this lock. Yesterday, my phone stopped connecting to the lock. No reason. Full batteries, fully charged phone. Bluetooth enabled. My bike is locked to a fence and I can't unlock it. I'm looking at having to destroy this lock. If I do, never again.

You're not supposed to lock a bike from the front tire. Easiest way to get stolen. Lock back tire with frame.

My son's expensive bike was stolen while locked to this lock secured. No warranty like Kryptonite offers. The fancy features do not protect you at all since the manufacturer doesn't back up their product. Buyer beware!

I doubt this would work. If a thief wants your bike, he will snip through that cable and ride away even if the alarm goes off.

never put your bike far away from everyone... I have such technology 20 years ago and my bike got locked only with that technology and I still had it (I sold it 2 years ago). trust me robbers do not really like noises.

The alarm turning off when phone is nearby is a deal breaker for me. I would use this lock while riding on paved trails, then need to stop for a bathroom break. I don’t want to disable my bluetooth. I have Bluetooth sensors on my bike that would also turn off. The app should have settings for that, and also the amount of time the alarm rings when you’re not around. The Amazon description says the alarm will sound for at least 30 seconds. I guess that means not indefinitely, but will probably stay on for more than 30 seconds if there is still vibrations after 30 seconds. Nice concept though.

I like the idea but I don't like the app feature. I'd much prefer an original style lock with an alarm feature. What if your phone break or is flat, going to ride home for a charger, oh yeah you can't. There's also the potential of your phone being hacked, might be unlikely but not impossible. It's just more to go wrong. Would also like to attack it to my frame so that thry have to try and carry away your bike with an alarm sounding.

The most important thing to remember is to press the botton on the lock. It doesn't lock automatically. The instructions are not clear. It took me like 10 minutes to sync it. I thought the batteries were dead. I just didnt follow the correct sequence. I locked it before putting in the batteries.

Don’t purchase this lock,I bought two of them one came with missing battery compartment screws. I contacted the company through e-mail and they said they’d send them out. That was a month ago,they sent me some Bluetooth plug no screws! Now they won’t reply! Those screws are part of the alarm system! Finding the right size a machining won’t be easy! Only purchase this of you like being ignored and sending things back!
