The modular rig is divided into four parts: "O" type mainbody; SSD case bottom slot; LVF-11 Viewfinder rotating bracket(need flip screen mod); USB data connection side plate; MC-21/31 adapter. www.aliexpress.com/store/1102339830
I recently ordered everything except the viewfinder and display screen mod and very satisfied with their products plus Dark Power Laboratory's willingness to assist me build out my rig has been tremendous! Highly recommended for any FP owner! Thank you!
I don't even own the Sigma FP/FP-L (although it has been on my mind for some time now) but these mods and the engineering behind it are really impressive!
I received the cage today. The newer design is great! I like that the Cine/Still button is now exposed and I appreciate all the additional mounting holes on the front…I am looking to mount PDAMovie Lidar focus soon. Thank you, thank you!
Is there a way to secure the HDMI cable with the bottom rack and side USB bridge? (I have the smallrig side panel for that purpose and wondering if it can be still attached).
SSDs are available in two sizes, the shorter 2242 size and lighter. SSDs of WD SN530 or Sabrent 2242 size are recommended. 2280 length SSDs can have larger capacity and can choose turbofan cooling. WD SN550 SSDs are recommended for longer shooting tasks. Just choose according to the purpose.
Nice mods! Where can we buy? .... How about a mod to allow a centred hotshoe to be attached so as to use a ovf? Or a mod intergrate a go pro display mod?
To use the bottom ssd, which accessories are required? Bottom ssd slot, side usb connector and main body cage? Instead of main body cage, can I use my existing smallrig wooden cage(ccm 2518)?
M.2 2280 size I recommend WD SN750. Theoretically, SSD speed is OK. However, different hard disks have different support for writing raw files composed of a single file.
@@DarkPowerLaboratoryis it true sigma fp can record to 4tb ssd now? I can’t remember where I heard this but my understanding was that it was previously limited to 2 tb.
Amazingly good engineering here ! Thank you for improving the experience of everyone. Can you tel how good is the turbofan to cool the SSD support ? Is it loud when it runs ? Thank you 🫰
Hi The SSD case with a turbo fan can effectively control the heat of the SSD. In environments below 30 C, it will only work at low speeds for a while before stopping, and will only start when the temperature rises again. Low speeds can maintain a long period of heat without generating noise that affects recording. It only pays for SSDs with single sided particles, which means the back must be empty. Thanks.
As a buyer of this product from this seller, I can say that the sold M42N M.2 Solid State Drive Case (NVMe protocol) works with my SABRENT 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2242 on Sigma fp, emitting a lot of noise, which is recorded in the camera accordingly. I found out about this problem too late, after I ordered the ssd and accessories. I could not solve the problem by gluing thermal paste on the bottom of the board, as the seller assured me that it would remove the noise from the case. I contacted other bloggers and youtube authors who also bought this system, but they either ignored my comments, or also suffered with this system. It would be better if such things would be made by a reliable company, which can be trusted, such as Sigma!!!!!!! itself
Stop posting your niche complaint on every video this guy makes. If it's such a problem for you then you shouldn't be spending anywhere near this much on experimental products that you probably don't need in the first place.
