@bayer54 Some are more transparent than others. Use gloss medium and it will improve the transparency of the paper. The most transparent paper would be gift wrap tissue. These vary and some fall apart when wet, so you have to try different brands to find one that works.

Nita typically uses gel medium as a "glue" as it is archival.

I find Rice paper easily in the calligraphy & indian ink area of the Hobby Lobby --- all the papers they suggest using is in the same area....

the finished piece would have been a good finish to show exactly what was described about the appearance of the leaves when the medium was dry. thank you for sharing

Where can I get those rice papers? I searched for unryn paper; they don't look transparent to me. Thanks!

It called unryu if I'm not mistaken. I've got them at a art supply store. I never seen any other rice paper at Michael's or craft stores, but those rice papers for calligraphy. Those never go transparent with gloss medium.
