Teoh--Thank you so much for your thorough review of The New Creative Artist. You clearly understand my goals with this book--to help people learn to be creative by trying many different things. The book has been useful in schools, where teachers need lots of quick, doable projects for art classes and in studios, where artists are looking for new ideas to refresh their work and break through blocks. In this newest edition, I added a foreword referring to some of the newer techniques now available to artists. I am grateful for your video review. I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to catching up and also reading new reviews.
Hi Teoh, your review sent me down memory lane! I bought the original Creative Artist book by Nita Leland way bay in 1990 and I still have it. She is a great artist and teacher and her style really encourages a person to want to follow the lessons no matter how little talented they might think they are. I still take the book out once in a while when I'm creatively "dry" and I will do one of the lessons. I remember the 2006 version came out but I never bought it, this new edition intrigues me though, I will have to check it out when I see it somewhere, thanks for the terrific review!
I'm a bit of an Art Book Junkie, and I love your detailed reviews. They are really helpful in showing whether or not the book is for me, and stops me wasting money on ones that aren't really for me. Of course also makes me long for others... Anyway thanks!
Tring thank you for your thorough subject matter on this book review. I was captured when you discussed creativity can be learned. And as well as, list of exercises for thought provoking art creation. Well done. I can see myself sitting in your place reviewing the book to add to my collection. Sincere thanks.
