So very true. You are what 90% of us live on a daily basis … balancing family / kids’ schedules, work, and heading out into nature in between.

I also know how to correctly pronounce Boise, with an actual S instead of a Z. 😆 Growing up in a state that is soooo commonly mispronounced Oruhgaawwn instead of the proper ORygun, I'm sympathetic for sure. 😄

I was up that way on the Midas Touch trips. Beautiful area for sure.

The girls all very much enjoyed playing flag football, though even that got a little rough at times. Lucie only sustained superficial injuries as a result of getting knocked down a few times, but other girls on the team weren't so lucky: one broke a finger, another ended up with a broken nose, and a third girl had her season cut short because of a concussion. 😬 This was brand new in this area this spring, and just a handful of area schools gave it a shot this year. The refs were all the same who ref the boys football...they were clearly not familiar enough with some of the different rules for flag football and didn't enforce very well. Parents/coaches often had to remind the refs of the differing rules and the penalties they were supposed to be calling...it was a little too free-for-all out there, but I imagine that will get better in future years as the refs learn the game.

Haha! I think I was a little late for the biggest surge. I did encounter a few short stretches of road with Mormon crickets trudging along, but it wasn't as thick I've seen by any means and most days I saw none at all.

Heh, I live at the south end of Eugene and the vast majority of my trips involve heading out Hwy 58 through Pleasant Hill. AND...when I was in high school (Thurston), I was a drummer in the jazz band and we would come out to play at the Pleasant Hill Jazz Festival (or whatever it was called) there at your school. 🙂

@@softroadingthewest We moved up to the Tigard area. I've done a number of trips with my jeep and overlander trailer I built. Tuktoyaktuk was one of the best trips we've taken so far.

Have you heard of Moore Expo? It's in Missouri. It's a different organization than the Overland Expos (West, PNW, MtnWest, East) but it seems to be a decently sizable event.

I do have one, I use it in windy conditions, in the truck at highway speeds, and on noisy gravel roads. 30 mph around town doesn't seem bad to my ears so I don't usually bother with it for little utilitarian videos like this, but I know different sound frequencies can come more or less forward on different devices so it may well sound worse to you. It's not too much trouble to capture the extra sound file and sync it in, I'll try to think to grab the mic next time. :-)
