Mina - here is my compliment for Ben - I am absolutely overjoyed to hear he no longer feels that running isolation routes at Trent McDuffie (yes, TRENT MCDUFFIE) is a good strategy for an opposing offense.... that is incredible podcasting growth over a couple short weeks!!
@@minakimesthis guy is clueless. He just said Tua isn't accurate in deep balls down the field? Where does he get his info, a crayon box? Over the last 2 years Tua has been one of the accurate and successful deep ball throwers in all of football. This guy is clueless.
@@minakimes0.952 EPA, 48% Positive EPA Rate Tagovailoa leads the position in deep throw EPA (0.941) over the past two seasons and finished 2023 as a top-10 passer in turnover-worthy play rate (10.3%) on deep passes. Let your little sidekick know that 😂 what's next? Lamar Jackson isn't a good runner of the football?
Best duo ever. I like his analytics. I love listening to this show. True breakdown on player's and games. If it ain't broke leave it alone.... Go Steelers 🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛 Have a good one.
Neither of you really mentioned Justin Herbert’s high ankle sprain as a main reason why the offense has gone more pass heavy since he’s been healthy (last two weeks) kind of a huge factor is his health on the play calling
Mina I love how you spoke about Marv's "crossers" for the Cardinals. I've been seeing it since week 1 wondering the same thing...why isn't he doing cross field post routes?? Glad to see I wasn't alone in that confusion :)
Great show as always! I would ask for Ben to lessen stepping on Mina when mid sentence; its more the fact that y'all are remote and it seems to cut mics. Great info and discourse between you both!
not enough 49ers talk on this episode! lol jk, besides that great show as always! Ben bringing them stats out, Mina matching wits, always enjoy the preview shows with him!
Chiefs fan here. I would say I don't enjoy the current Chiefs offense compared to the high flying one we had previously but its what you gotta do with WR1 and 2 out and a top 3 defense. Its sadly winning football and as a fan I take that over a fireworks L.
Fans need to learn, yes it can be taught, to embrace defensive football. I occasionally go back to rewatch games early in Patrick's career, and it is frustrating how awful the Chiefs defense was. This current brand of football is more successful and predictable. When Patrickmcuts down on the turnovers, the games won't be close.
Mina- you are awesome a watch you every Thursday! Ben your assessment of the Lions run defense is curious. They are tied for 25th in run per carry, not very good. The reason why the total yards are down is because they get ahead early and the opposing team is forced to abandon the run.
Enjoy the BBQ Mina (Q39, JackStack, JoesKC, and a couple good Asian BBQ places too)! I worry the "curse" for my Chiefs will be everyone picking them, and they somehow lose. It's usually the Colts they do that with, but we'll see. I love this podcast and the energy and nerdy football stats. Ben Solak's name sounds Vulcan, which would explain his nerdy stats he knows! His ears aren't pointy enough! My only disappointment with this particular episode is that: 1. Mina wasn't dressed up for Halloween as #EmoMina. Give us what the people want. 2. Ben wasn't in a Starfleet costume. 3. No Lenny
Interesting I’ve always felt that the ravens offense is an amazing slugger who strikes out more than they should have no stats to back that up just the feel I get watching them
It seems like a team's poor pass rush is mentioned every game. Are there really that few good pass rushers/pass rushing teams out there, have offenses got better at neutralizing pass rush or is it something else?
Todd Monken has cost the Ravens two games going away from their identity. He either grows bored, doesn’t respect the opponent enough, or is trying to prove something to make himself look better as a coaching candidate. That wildcat with Derrick Henry vs the Browns and using their 3rd string TE again on a tush push after it cost them the game vs the Raiders are perfectly symbolic of his hubris.
When Ben feels strongly about something, he can be suprisingly lyrical about it i.e. life for a coach without Joe Burrow and dismay at Chiefs passing numbers.
Don't ever appeal to opposing fans to be nice. The better your team plays, the more ridiculously ugly and weird they get. Quit reading the comments if you don't like it.
Ben is such a great guest. I wish he was on more, but I like all your guests, so that would mean less of them. I do wish there was more Lenny. He is supposed to be featured. Also as a Chiefs fan I also miss the score a million points in 5 minutes offense. It was always fun.
He gifted the game to the Ravens last week. He just got lucky and they dropped it. I don’t think one of the best defenses in the league is going to struggle to get Jameis to throw the game away lol. And the Chargers offense may not be super explosive. But Herbert doesn’t put the ball in harms way
I think the biggest mismatch is the Bills D-line versus the Phins O-line, buffalo has 6'6" and taller DE's, one which has already had at least 1 house call on Tua, and everyone knows that Miami will try to run and run screen plays, like everyone else, Bill's are going to win this big the scariest part of this game is Tua not getting another concussion
79-44 straight up record for me this year so far. Thursday Night: No chance I play the Jets giving points after losing to the Patriots. Hurt or not Texans. HOU +1.5 Sunday Early Games: LA are being over valued & the Browns under valued. Take the points & home dog. CLE +1.5 BUFF smashed MIA week 2 at home. 0 to think it will be any different this time around. BUFF -6.5 Commanders should get back to scoring 30 this game. NYG are just a bad team & hurt. WAS -3.5 Not give BALT 9 vs DEN same W-L & a good D. Ravens bad late a good backdoor cover. DEN +9.5 Lay points with Titans. They do have a decent defense. Pats two in a row no thanks. TENN -3.5 Carolina losses all by 10+. Just traded 1 of their best players. Carr back laying points. NO -7.5 Card vs Bears coin toss. UNDER! Bears not allow over 21 points since week 10 2023. ARZ -1.5 Bengals haven't won at home yet this season. Raiders a bad team. Take better QB. CIN -7.5 Sunday Late Games: Jags hurt. Kirk out for the year. Brian Thomas Jr. hurt too. Traded tackle to Vikings. PHI -7.5 Seahawks vs Rams another coin toss game. Metcalf be back I'll take home dog. SEA +1.5 Atl will run it down the Cowboys throats. But Dak can take advantage of ATL secondary. ATL -3 GB vs DET coin toss. Interdivisional game it'll be close. Goff bad outside. Home dog. GB +3.5 Sunday Night Game: Vikes lost Darrisaw star tackle. Indy Taylor & Buckner are back. Slacco Flacco starts. IND +5.5 Monday Night Game: I can't give KC 9. Baker gets back door cover. He was in last weeks game! TB +9 Go Pack Go!
Quinn uses Luvu in a similar way he used Parsons in Dallas, it evolved from how he used Wagner in Seattle, and Fowler Jr. in Atlanta, how does an NFL analyst not see this?
Come on Mina. Have you looked at the Dolphins record vs Allen since he entered the league? What do you mean leaning Dolphins? Lol especially for a bills home game. Come on girl! Glad you came to your senses.
Chiefs fan here - no hate for your takes, it is what it is this year. The transformation from finesse to brutalitops has been fascinating over the last few years. If only the could find a way to also play a Tae at QB. Favorite football podcast and the episodes with Ben are the best.
The Chargers' lack of run game isn't much of a conundrum really tbh. The IOL is atrocious and Harbaugh/Roman are realizing that Herbert with McConkey/Dissly/Palmer is more trustworthy than trying to run up the middle with Johnson/Bozeman/Pipkins.
That’s not entirely true. Johnson has been pretty good in the run game. Basically their stats running left are much better than running to the right. Yes I think they’re leaning more on Herbert right now because the run game is lacking. But if they can run effectively on the Browns they’re gonna keep doing it until the success dries up
The Hunt disrespect ... He always gains at least a yard... He has way better instincts running btw the tackles than Pacheco and I love me some Pop... But it's no coincidence that the Chiefs have ran and had success more in short yardage with him now then they have had since he left in 2018. It's no coincidence that they have fed him they ball more than any other single back... Since HE was a Chief... Bell cow.
it's funny seeing them so frustrated at the Chiefs offense. Hey we get it! The Chiefs would love to have an offense that is less of a "meat grinder" and is more fun with more air yards! KC fans have been begging for it too! But they just don't have the receivers for it. They're all hurt. The way to win games is running the ball, short passes and playing defense. It is what it is and it's not fun to watch but oh well
Mina, I'm a Chiefs fan and a lot of us are also not loving watching it on a snap-by-snap basis. They're winning so obviously I'm grateful, but damn, the short passes and efficient run game are so much less entertaining than we've gotten used to over the past 6-7 years
@@davidbrandorff9654 I appreciate that Andy has adapted his style based on the talent available. Unlike Shottenheimer, he is flexible. Who he next becomes will depend on the talent they are able to get.
Hey ben tua isnt a good deep ball thrower? Where do these find these guys? 0.952 EPA, 48% Positive EPA Rate Tagovailoa leads the position in deep throw EPA (0.941) over the past two seasons and finished 2023 as a top-10 passer in turnover-worthy play rate (10.3%) on deep passes.
Jaemis Winston played light years better than watson, even just getting the ball out and to open wrs instead of sitting back waiting for things to break down... like Deshaun was doing, which to me doesn't have anything to do with the playcaller, or even plays, watson was routinely not seeing open receivers.. like on every play.. it was awful, really hope to see Jaemis continue to be a leader and inspire the team. Also, 3rd game back for Nick Chub who has looked decent, not great.. I'm hoping he'll be more adjusted to the changes that were made in his absence and be more confident and in rythm... I'll probably shed a single tear of joy if he breaks 100yds
1:32:16 it’s not Ant vs. Joe. Ant can not start another game this year after tapping out. He gave up on his whole team, once you lose the locker room you’re done.
It's funny how these pundits will give the benefit of the doubt to Anthony Richardson, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. When it comes to Bo Nix and the Broncos, they will immediately write them off. Mina has been a Broncos hater since the pre-season. She still resents how Denver took Wilson away from her Seahawks
This dudes HATE for Bo Nix is disgusting 🤮 must be protecting his pre draft status on Nix like so many others. It's all good because Nix is 5-1 in his last 6 starts with a QB rating of 100+ so all his criticism is unfounded.
Bo Nix's fundamentals do leave a fair amount to be desired though, which is wild to say about someone who has played a ton of football in college. The Chiefs defense could make his life hell in a few weeks.
@@kchandaman3012 I follow his development closely and his fundamentals are improving. His footwork issues were more of a rhythm and timing issue with his receivers than a mechanical flaw. That's why his footwork was flawless vs. Carolina because the timing was good. As far as KC goes they can make veteran QB'S life hell so it will definitely be a challenge for Nix.
This ben guy is absolutely clueless. He is arrogant, condescending, and half of the stuff he says couldn't be more wrong. Like mina a lot, but i will never watch this again with this guy rambling on. Disrespectful to players too.
Mina will always find an excuse to downplay Washingtons success. It's been this way since the off season. Trashed Quinn saying he'll be on hot seat his 1st season after hire, trashed Kliff and the air raid after hire, trashed Jaydens "off schedule" play, trashed OLINE, trashed defense. Now it's "unsustainable" after 1st half of season. I do enjoy listening to Mina, but her commanders takes arent the best lol.
@@Quadrupledubs the Bears are a classic example of a team that looked good on paper. They are who we we thought they are. Not who some hoped they would be.
@@DjturntPackers are just a weird inconsistent team, they will either just crushed or manage to steal win. Just hard to say which team we’ll see this week
