The Richardson benching is interesting, because I thought they only started him to give him more experience while evalutating his potential, etc. But they were 4 - 3 going into the last game and could have had a better chance with Flacco in there. A game late to move on to Flacco IMO.
Mina with the prepared statement of apology on the notepad. I respect it and love it so much that I can't even enjoy dunking on Mina with I told you so. But I will never understand how you and other analysts didn't see this coming. It's one thing to not think he's 2019/2020 Prime RUss, but to pretend that the 2023 version of RUss as a passer wasn't clearly better than Fields will always be ridiculous to me. Not only from an accuracy standpoint but overall command of an offense and ability to audible at LOS and read a defense vastly better than Fields. With all that said, I fully acknowledge he has to get it done vs division rivals, Commanders, Eagles, and Chiefs down the stretch to prove he's as good as I and a few others always said he still is. Just so glad we actually get to see it play out. For a while the Russ skeptics seemed liked they were going to win by default because of health.
@@Whiskey61 dude this is not about race with Fields not everything is about race Last i remember is Lamar situation that was about race if you remember when he was coming out of Louisville
@@Whiskey61 not that convenient at all its just the truth i'm not pickin or choosin anything Only guy that faced that was Lamar when he was coming out Justin Fields criticism is valid! I don't know what you on about that's not racist to say he can't see the field well
Not sure why anyone doubted Russ anyway, other than the year with Hackett (who has been fired and demoted) he’s never had a passer rating in a season under 90. Russ is a hall of fame QB. Put respect on his name.
@@obtusemooose awful his first year, but played much better his 2nd-year.. hard to do more on bad Denver team... Russ is literally playing the same way he played his last season in Denver... only difference, he is on a much better, more complete team
@@obtusemooose in what world do you think he was awful last year? 😂 Russ had a passer rating of 96 and a 3:1 touchdown to interception ratio. He was better than more than half of the league.
Mina, very classy apology! Also quite daring with the hoop earrings, many a young mother learn those are fraught! Richardson, like Dak, wanted to get massive tattoos without the required pain and both opted for 7h of general anaesthesia. They are thus both soft and posers; IG QBs
As a colts fan. I dont think we are gonna win the super bowl or anything but they should be a playoff team. Could of key drops/bad throw in both games against the texans from being 6-2
with the AR situation people are making it seem like the colts cut him or sent him to cancun he can sit and learn and he has to look in the mirror when he came out of college and didn't play much in college he has to want to get better and has to work hard to get to where he needs to be when both the organization and the player aren't trying to get them there
penalties in the redzone slowed em down, when they called pass plays.. just run the ball down there, esp early when having that kind of success running it.. that's why they had fgs.
the reason they haven’t seen him throw like this since before covid is because they didn’t really watch russ play last year. if they did, they would’ve saw all those great intermediate/deep throws to his receivers. russell is flawed just like every other qb is and will take blame especially considering his contract, but the lack of success on the broncos last year was mainly in part due to the organization and sean payton. they could’ve put together a good season if they formed an offense centered around russell’s strengths like the steelers are and by not mismanaging his contract situation. however that big stink they made had folks genuinely believe he was washed. russell was never washed. he just wasn’t in a winning environment.
Bo Nix is playing way better than Russ. Russ is washed and the Steelers are running him to save a draft pick. Tomlin will get fired because of this switch.
@ i wouldn’t compare them yet bc russ has only played two games but if we were then russ is averaging more passing ypg, tds pg, qbr and passer rating, ppg (31.5), and no interceptions to bo’s 5. bo’s playing well though for a rookie. russ is playing bc he’s simply a better qb than jf and the steelers want to win now. but if you want to believe he’s washed go right ahead 😂
I respect Domonique, but I couldn't disagree more about benching Richardson. You can't, as a GM and coach duo, draft a project QB at No. 4 overall, spend 18 months preaching that he needs to play in order to get more reps, and then throw him under the bus to try to save your jobs and, at best, secure a first-round exit in the playoffs and hurt your draft position in the process. It can't possibly be what's best for his career, and the short-term success of the team shouldn't even be in consideration when you don't even know if you have your franchise QB yet. And how can you say his running ability doesn't keep them competitive when he's 3-3 as a starter this year and they're technically currently in a playoff spot??? I don't buy it at all.
Congrats Mina on being part of the palpable 1% of sports media personalities that actually admit when they're wrong. Wish more people were capable of doing it.
Oh really? Did she apologize to the egregious take on Dan Quinn being 1 and done in Washington? No? Okay no then the clown makeup is still on her face. On to better podcasts..Kay Adams
I think Miami should consider trading for Bryce Young. It is hard to know how long Tua can last. Young might do a lot better under McDaniel's guidance.
As a Colts fan I appreciate Domonique's take. I was a big believer in being patient with AR but there were next to no signs that he was improving week after week and his numbers have been all time bad. Flacco will give the team more juice somehow. It's just sad to see.
@@The509sfinest jets defense has been garbage since Saleh got fired. Giants have 1 player on defense with everyone hurt now. Tomlin started him against bad defenses for a reason.
I think if the benching is temporary then it’s fine. If it’s permanent or even season long it’s an idiotic decision and a huge whiff on resource management and a message that your coach can’t develop a QB & your GM can’t draft. It punts on a potential high end QB for a team that ceiling is getting blown out in round 1 of the playoffs
The Giants were getting gashed on the ground playing 2 high safeties. That’s the dilemma. If the Steelers can sort out their red zone issues moving the ball for the most past hasn’t been an issue with either QB really. Admittedly better with Russ though.
First Puka comes back last minute, now this? This Vikings fan is not happy. I would’ve preferred for the Flores defense to get well against Richardson.
Steelers run D been a probem... Like an all year problem. Some horrific tackling mostly i dunno it feels like we're a little lightweight in the middle like if it gets past Benton our linebackers are slipping off backs more than you'd like.
Mina the shady female equivalent of Schlereth & Eisen combined. Only directed the apology at Coach T and not Russ. Only did it too cuz she got called out for switching sides after the segment she did with Dan, RC & Swagu & then the segment she did with Stephen A after the w against the Jets. Russ got punched in the face in the fumble -should've been a penalty. Mina & Sherm could glaze Geno all they want, but he's likely gon get replaced next season.
No QB is "perfect". Joe Montana played in 4 Superbowls and won all 4. But he threw some bad passes in each of those games. He misses open receivers too. That's football 🏈 and life. Fortunately GREATNESS doesn't require perfection.
Russ 2021 injury marred season 25 TD/6 INT, 103 passer rtg 2022 Denver disaster w/Hackett 2023 26 TD/ 8 INT, 98 passer rtg: wins over Mahomes/Allen/Love 2024 playing great But NFL media will tell you he's been terrible for 4 years and Pete Carroll and Sean Payton jettisoned him cause he sucked
without chase and burrow this bengals team would be 4-13. remarkably untalented team if you actually look at it. maybe theyll win like, 8 this season cause of them
OMG can we just admit that they wiffed on Richardson. He QUIT on his fucking Team.... I would NEVER want that guy on my Team. If he quit once.. he'll always quit.. that's who and what he is.... a BUST !
People need to calm down about Russ, yes give Tomlin the benefit of the doubt, he is a great coach. But the Steelers have played two of the worst teams in the NFL with Russ. Just give it a few more weeks to see how good he actually is, everyone always in a hurry to overreact about everything
Yet in the opposite direction ppl wanted to bury him for one drive in the pre-season. And no chance you would have been this measured if he struggled in one game. Now overall I agree, that Russ has to play well down stretch of season but it's opportunities to move goalposts even if he did the impossible and ran the table. Commanders have rookie QB, Steelers have always had Lamar and Ravens number and Ravens have worst past defense in NFL, Browns and Bengals have losing records, and Chiefs lost last year on CHristmas to the Raiders. Basically every game the Steelers could win you could discredit. ANd since they obviously aren't going to go 11-0 with Russ, I guarantee someone like you will overreact in opposite direction if they lose 1-2 of those 11 games.
@@truthbearer7891 First off your comment is rather rambling and hard to follow. Second you don't know me, so don't pretend you know what I think or believe. My point is what I said to begin with, Russ has played two terrible teams, over the next few weeks he plays better teams. That will be a good litmus test for what you can expect from him moving forward. But, I would give Mike Tomlin the benefit of the doubt in personnel decisions, because he's a great coach. Russ obviously won't run the table but if he's 2-2 in the next 4 games, that would be a good sign
@@Overland-460 I was down on Rodgers before the season began, people were way too high on an old and recently injured QB. He won two games early and people overreacted, a few games later, we see he is good and washed. Simple as that, but that's why I recommend patience until you have a decent sample size
When do you apologize for brushing off the Goff 18 for 18? Literally historic and you "explain" it by saying the Hawks are injured...? Every team is injured. 🙄
