Redwings boots I work in hvac and have had the same pair of redwings for 5 years and haven’t even had to resole them yet plus the most comfortable boots I’ve warn you can choose any style that fits what you like I believe they had non steel toe options but I have the toe in mine and they are still super light boots

I know you don't wear steel toes but the ones I have been wearing for the last 10 years are Timberland pro alloy toe composite. They last forever and are comfortable. I buy the wide ones and you can't tell they are composite toe. My company buys me new ones every year, so I have no idea how long they last. I wear them everywhere even when outside of work. They only cost 100 bucks and are more comfortable than my tennis shoes... Plus you have protected toes. I donate them to Goodwill every year because they look and feel new after a year. I kept an extra pair for cutting grass and other jobs where I don't care if they are stained green... I hope they don't quit making them...

Completely agree, take care of yourself now while your young. It will pay off a million fold as you age. Those thick foam kitchen pads from costco or sams will last a long time and in my opinion are perfect for these kind of jobs. I went to long without when I was young and now cant last five minutes without pads.

High end dealers and mechanic shops charge outrageous amounts of of hard earned money to perform basic repairs. The shop I was taking my 2011 Land Rover HSC 5.0 to, was getting $147.00 dollars per hour, and it wasn't even a Land Rover dealer. I now have a 1990 Dodge D150 two wheel drive truck, and do most of the maintenance myself, and what I can't do I have my in town mechanics work on my truck for far less money than anyone else around me. I like your attitude and the way you talk to your customers. Treat people right, and you have repeat customers ever time, plus word of mouth recommendations of your work from your customers, generates a volume business. Nice work🤙especially in that sun, you can get stainless steel cable ties that are good for the rack boots , when changing inner and outer tie rods it’s easier to measure the total length from rack to joint as some pattern parts are different lengths so counting turns is no good

What I cannot stand is when people start asking prices and time frames. You are a mobile mechanic. Been there done that. Depending on the persons attitude is whether or not you might get a discount. A mobile mechanic is a shop on 4 wheels. Same hourly rate. It's all about convenience. You pay for it. No problem giving discounts to understanding customers. It will help your business by word of mouth. Just stay true to your work.👍

Counting the threads sounds good in theory however there can be differences in length between oem and aftermarket tie rods what I do is pull the boot back and take off both at once still connected to each other the put the new ones together and measure both next to each other once the measurements are equal use some white out to mark the spot on the new parts yea it takes a bit longer but more accurate than counting threads

Used 550 cord in all your work shoes or boots. Won’t break and oil resistant. It’s parachute cord . Even Wallmart sells it in camping section

100% what I was about to say. Regardless of the brand of shoes or boots, relace them with 550 paracord. Make sure you get the USA made 550. You'll never have a lace break again.

More traction during dry summers. Better grip than tires with tread , made for winter,rain,etc.

I wear the tread safe shoes from Walmart with memory foam to help prevent slipping but I wear through them in 2-3 months
@RCman9291
@RCman9291 3 месяца назад
@@QualityMobileAutomotive idk if walmart still does it but if u go thru a pair every month they will replace them free cause they have a 30 day warranty so if u wanted to drag ur feet abit here and there to get holes and new shoes every month lol or u can get momery foams to put into a better set of boots i use to walk a ton so went thru them kinda fast but if u get a set of boots around 20 or so bucks and put the foams in them i find they last abit longer
