The change in artstyle is a really neat touch but nothing beats the original's Sonic CD styled sprites, it has a special place my heart especially as someone who loves that game a ton. I do gotta admit that laugh from Starved at the end was killer tho!
What I love most about this that it takes on the style of Origins! From Sonic to the egg mobile it’s absolutely beautiful! These guys did good on this HD version!
the art and music are good but i wouldn't say better IMO. it's missing stuff from the original that gave it charm like sonic being angry during the fast part or strave stomach growling during his laugh. biggest miss is furnace not appearing during the last dialogue but i like the touch of strave laughing to replace the red screen.
This is so good. I'm so glad you changed Furnace's poses, especially his down pose because him curling up into a ball seems really odd and these new poses seem more aggressive. The only things I'd change are pretty minor. Sonic's voice just doesn't sound like Sonic, in his speaking voice or in his vocals, they just don't sound right. And the Furnace and Sonic health icons seem kind of overly simplistic. Other than that, this is incredible.
Even though ive kinda said this before, This one is much better than that Shitty Prey Hd remake thing, Love how Sonic seems kinda *Confident* in this, Props to the people who made this.

1:30 I like how in this section of the song, furnace is very... robotic I guess, singing in a.. standard way I guess, it's hard to describe. But on the other hand, sonic feels more wavy and energetic I guess.
Removing specialized pixelart sprites straight as if from Sonic CD for quite average looking art style isn't really an improvement for me being honest. It looks like Sonic Mania/Origins art style cutscenes so I'll give it that. Guitar sometimes gets in a way, too loud, especially noticeble at Eggman's entrance and at the end interupting both what Eggman and Sonic say and then awkwardly ends of riff.
While its okay to have another oppinion this just looks much better in my oppinion, i really didn't like the prey sonic sprites he's often barely moving or his face looks out of proportion, furnace looked alright originally and well starved looked meh he barely had any personality in his sprites. this gives it a lot more personality then the original and while the original is good this is far better.
@@renamamiya158 I just thought it would be nice to point out different view on this because i think keeping the art style is much more appropriate when this art style have meaning behind it (in this case, Sonic CD reference in which events of Starved happens) than just changing it all together for questionable sense of improvement which is really isn't exactly improvement but change switch of art style. Basically whatever HD reskins do with any mod. tldr: changing art style is *changing art style* ,not direct upgrade. @@renamamiya158 i mean, but You gotta give props how at least in the first Sonic phase they actually did a mashup of different Sonic CD Sprites and added a few modifications for it to work in the mod, while this for me just looks like your standard fnf mod,(it's just My opinión, because i tend to like Sprites more than any other arte style)
@@reidj2226 I Accept your opinion and completely understand but calling the sprite work in this "average" comes off like a dick thing to say especially because the sprite work is great but to each their own I assume and I agree that the guitar is sometimes to loud and I feel the voice's should have been made louder to deal with that problem but still I accept your opinion but seriously the wording came off really mean with you calling the sprite work "average" which in my opinion is not it is great and I understand what you don't like about the switch in art style but the art style still works because of the fact Sonic in this version looks like how he appears in the Sonic CD cutscene so to be honest that doesn't really hold up either but hey again to each their own you have your opinion's and so do I have a great day person
Look, the person was trying to remix the song, they didn't really focus on the voice lines. Tbh, makes the whole thing feel more dream like, like sonic, furnace, and eggman are all kind right there but so far away at the same time.
Would not say "better" necessarily but its a really nice take. I think sonic looks too confident during the Starved section and I liked the pixel Starved sprites a lot more, but of course the art here is great. Very reminiscent of the Mania/Origins cutscenes EDIT: Also Zeroh's remix is good but I like the original song a lot more
Well Sonics confidence makes sense since that’s kinda a big part of his canonical personality. He’s cocky, confident, rash, and free spirited. Asking them to make Sonic something he never was when it doesn’t make sense for him especially given the prior cutscene and reasoning behind how Starved managed to kill him to begin with. Edit: Also Sonic doesn’t know Starved had been killing and eating animals, nor does he know that Starved already got to Amy and Ray yet. Far as he’s aware, things are a bit weird but nothing worth worrying about.

But that wouldn’t warrant any fear or drop in confidence given that Sonic knows Robotnik isn’t comparable to him physically and he was running under the assumption that Robotniks main threat, Furnace, was already dealt with. There’s no other threats that he’s aware of and as the story states, he was teasing Robotnik like he always does.

''remastered visuals'' one is simply sprited and the other is drawing style, i don't know why fnf fans feel the need to make everything a fight or competition..
I mean, fnf IS based off a competition between two ppl, so if we wanna take that route.... Aside from that, the fight/competition feel does actively go against the game for the most part, as it causes drama. Reason for edit: Spelling Errors.
I like this kind of “hd” fnf style where instead of poorly failing at making an “hd” version of a character thats already HD in the style of fnf, instead they make a good looking HD version of a pixelated character and turn said character into that good looking fnf style
Not exactly A LOT better- The Origins/ Mania artstyle is really nice looking, but really doesn’t serve purpose, unlike the CD sprites from the original, due to the lore stating it was directly after the events of CD. The remix also feels a bit… greasy, I guess. Kinda too loose around, especially with the missing impact of Sonic getting rekt at the end, and ending on that weird riff with Starved laughing, especially with the latter being barely audible under that riff. Sonic’s sprites do look nice, especially his peel-out, and Furnace’s too, though Starved looks a bit too goofy to appear as a threat, especially that weird Squidward face he makes when he laughs at Sonic the first time. If anything, I’d say its one of the better ‘Prey but HD’ videos, but definitely not ‘A LOT better’

while I do agree with this being better than the Ryzzon's shitty take, having no effort at all, it is kinda rude to say it is "a lot better" than the original prey, the reason being they have put their heart for the pixel art, and other such things for the song and coding. Please do not say such thing.

Yeah, no, I wouldn't say better. At all. If anything, I'd say this is a downgrade. Sure, it's cool, but just straight up changing the artstyle and song isn't an improvement. And plus, you just made the song worse if you ask me. Seems like you have a bit of an ego ngl.
only thing i don't like is how confident sonic looks, considering he technically had to watch amy be cooked in front of him before his last stand in the stardust speedway race

Personally I liked the old prey more than this, I don't like the voices in this one or the remix, and I also like the pixelated artwork in the old version too (except sonic's up animation.) This one is alright, but in my eyes, the original still holds it's ground.
If you look around the middle-right area of the screen after furnace flies past starved and sonic, you can see his sprite hanging out in the background.

I feel like you could change this video to prey encore and It would still be amazing but some things I noticed are that bf’s icon shows for a second and in the Starved part and the notes are still pixel but that does not make it any less amazing
The separation between sonic and furnace its to short plus sonic isnt really looking at furnace in hes idle and the separation within eggman and sonic is too exaggerated

I mean, in the og version it’s implied he’s spooked out due to what starved said, but here he doesn’t give a crap lol, guess it makes more sense since apparently he died due to getting to cocky and getting hit by furnace.
