Funny to see someone writing down the lyrics after all these years. We recorded 3 songs prior to this and I wish I had those 3 songs still on a cassette. Hope to find one day as I just remember it was the first time we recorded and going home and listening to it and being blown away that was us. I think I really liked that recording better than this EP. It was really good and hope to post one day for the 10 people that might care. Maybe Keith has it and will see this and post it. I am a complete music nerd and even though this was a band I played drums in I think I can honestly say it is not bad for where we were at. I had only been playing drums for a couple years. Lance on guitar and he was the main song writer and wrote the lyrics and music to this song. Jeff Valley on bass. We were best friends and Keith Walsh on vocals who turned us on to so much music that I am forever grateful to him for that. I am sorry we kicked you out of the band. I am sorry we kicked Lance out of the band as he was the main one, him and Keith that got it going. After that it was me, Jeff and Dan Colburn of currently the Radolescents previously, DI/Adolescents/Mind Over Four on guitar with Keith for awhile and then we were stupid to kick Keith out of the band and it all fell apart. Keith was in the LA Punk Band Der Stab and played Keyboards on the early Christian Death records so at the time we were hyped to meet Keith and start this band. I think the first time I met him was at my friend at the time Tim Swenson's house at a Naughty Women rehearsal they were having at his house. I may have quit playing with Tim shortly after meeting Keith when Tim flipped out and almost hit me in the head, on purpose, with a baseball bat. Fucker. Will never forgive him for that. It was quite evil the way he was acting and he had no remorse for attacking me. It is coming back to me I think it was because I came to pickup my drums from his house and that I was not going to play with him anymore. This was a small scene bleeding out of the OC Punk Scene we were all involved with for years. We only played a few shows and at multiple shows there were fights for some reason. We played with Tender Fury and our best show was with 45 Grave at Fenders Ballroom in Long Beach of which Jeff the bass player broke a string on the 3rd song and he could not continue. That was the best 3 songs live for the band. The place was packed and we played early that night. The crowd gave us a huge response as I remember after each song and I was super bummed he was not prepared for a broken string. We were young and dumb. Keith and Lance were our seniors at the time.. A little Primal Danse history if anyone cares. Just thought I would put it out there.
Buddy! I was kicked out of my own band, I didn't know? funny cause Keith just said to me at the time that the band was losing interest in practicing anymore and it just fell apart, but Keith and I at the time were butting heads over the songs, it was the classic ego thing from my perspective, I only found out a few years later that a version of Primal Danse was still playing some gigs, I had already relocated to Hollywood by then and was having my soul sucked out by the mid 1980s to 1990 L.A. Music scene, we had some good gigs at the former Cuckoos Nest & Music Machine, it is to bad though because a little more time getting tight and enough songs for an album could of made a huge difference. I have run into Keith a couple of times over the later years, Hope you guys are doing well and still rocking, (This is Lance by the way!) It is so funny how our music is still around and being played in Neo Goth Clubs, although we were "Post Punk" from Orange County if you have to label it, I still marvel that $75.00 and one day at a little Hollywood music studio, resulted in this.
@@lancecox8084 Rad Lance. That is what I remember but I was just a kid what do I know. Keith got really scary when we booted him from the band. We were at a Christian Death show in LA one night and he was there and seemed to be following us around and he was giving me the stink eye like he wanted to kill me. I love Keith and we made some bad decisions back then. We should have kept it together and I appreciate what what we were able to do. I don't have the music video, Standard Records never gave me a copy, I think Keith was behind any demo recordings and tapes, I never had copies of those either, All I remember of the Video is it was directed by the guy who directed a bunch of the 1960s Batman TV series episodes.
