3:47 the visual storytelling here is just incredible. You're introduced to the danger of the scene and the stakes. The tribe needs food but going out without cover is obviously a death sentence. Something is in the sky. So at the moment of the brave hunter's seeming defeat the most badass member of the tribe reveals himself to handle shit. He's old as fuck. Old as fucking balls. Which means he obviously has handled crazy shit to live that long. He goes for the goal, the young hunter is a liability, the family needs food. The second his hands touch the food, the baddest motherfucker in the tribe is gone. Now you know what Spear and Fang are up against. Something that'll take out the baddest member of another species without any effort.

I gotta tip my hat to Spear in this one because he saved that apeman’s life *and* the kill he obtained for his family in the bargain, even though doing so put his own life in danger. It just goes to show you that even in a world as uncouth and violent as this one, you can expect to find just a little bit of compassion.

Next level move, make a show with no language and broadcast it to the world

Someone really needs to make an encyclopedia or a beastiary on all the creatures encountered within the show. I would honestly read it.

The relationship he shares with that dinosaur has to be a trip for her. To let a creature sit on top of you, because you recognize his ability to sling this stick, and the ability it has to draw the scent of everyone's blood but hers. The trust she exhibits to mimic him (he hits cover, she hits cover), for her own benefit. The confusion she must feel whenever she sees danger, watches the creature she _knows_ is smart enough to recognize it as well, and yet still rushes out to save this food and his food, for no personal benefit to them.

if no one get the reference, the moon eclipse and the giant bats is an easter egg for the film "pitch black" where a group of human crashed on a desertic planet just before an eclipse, and when it come, strange flying blind dinosaurs(blind like bats) came out from cheminey that look like the spider's lair and slaughtering the different characters one after another.

Genndey has been reading a lot of Robert E. Howard fam. The bat creature reminds me of "Wing in the night" story he wrote wher these bat like creatures are killing everything in there sight and a local tribe was getting picked off one by one after the creatures completey wiped out another tribe that was full of cannibals. That was such an epic read in the savage tales of soloman kane by Robert E Howard.

Although not historically accurate, this series reflects upon how at one time every moment was a fight for survival for humanity. Now people cower in fear at the idea of getting a cold, how far we have come.

You have to wonder what culture or people carved the Skull Obelisk that warns people about the bat territory. The Plains People mostly live underground and don't seem to have mastered basic technology yet, maybe it was an extinct relative group.

Loved the hostile architecture. Wonder who made it. And when. Because you got all those damn man-bats flying around... How would one find the time? And where the hell do they even hang out? Is there a cave? Some trees some place? So many questions.

It just occurred to me that the ape-man with the broken leg and the boar might have been left there as a TRAP by the bats - more living hosts for their spider-god, that way.
