I have to say I heard the name back in the day but never gave them a listen until today......they were special......rock on boy's and gals....loving it today😍
So privileged to see these guys at the Coogee Bay Hotel, Sydney, in - i think - 1992, with the full brass and vocal sections, and Andy Weatherall DJ'ing, neglected, for Creation Records in the corner of one of the balconies upstairs.
Jimmy Miller, who co-produced Screamadelica (the album on which this song was first recorded) also produced (and occasionally played drums) The Stones' Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile On Main Street, and Goat's Head Soup. He's the "Mr. Jimmy" (and drummer) in "You Can't Always get What You Want". So, yea... there's some Rolling Stones influence at work.
