It’s probably be said, but try flipping around the QD mount so the lever is on the other side. Then you can move it that 1 slot rearward. Also, you can flip the direction of the lever if you don’t like that
I find the eye relief is more forgiving than listed, I Use a MI mini acog mount and MI rear combat sight , if you shoot nose to charging handle i haven't experienced any eye box issues even with it in front of that sight. The ocular sits about 1.5-1.75 from the changing handle Even if i get further back( 6-7 in) i just see blue distortion around the outside but its still usable. The PA mounting system was just too many parts and ive seen drop tests that bend the cantilever arm. I "could" mount my rear backup sight backwards in front of it since Ive seen I think it was UK or CZ forces doing that with an optic in order to keep closer to the same sight radius with irons. I'm no commando or a huge person. seems to work fine that way and the QD release for the MI sight is on my weak side, opposite of the ADM . I had an issue with an adm mount and a micro a long time ago and don't buy them anymore. i have pictures but RU-vid doesn't let me post. Everything is in rearward slots and clears perfectly. Since the sight is way smaller than a mbus. With that setup if i mount the MI mount in the rear it puts the optic too far back for me and actually makes it unusable if you shoot NTCH, since your eye is too close. as for it not having three screw holes, acogs used to use only one. two is fine for a 5oz optic
You can reverse the direction of closure on the ADM qd mounts to provide more clearance for charging handle… Tension mount by closing lever towards the muzzle…👍🏻
I bought an Anderson stripped lower.I also have two Colt m4a1socoms.The Anderson lower has the keyhole on the upper reciever and on the trigger housing. Those are exactly where the keyhole on my Colt lowers located. The only difference is Anderson actually finished the trigger house but Colt doesn't finish their trigger housing. The Anderson went together with a Cmmg parts and functioned exactly as the Colts.I give Anderson lowers an A+.
OR U could reverse the QD mount (release handle facing right side) so the release handle goes forward when locked, it will lease enough space for charging handle. U r welcome😊
That PA sharply raked cantilever mount has always looked fragile, and it indeed broke in a drop test by another reviewer. The ADM QD mount you swapped in looks a good deal sturdier. Clever idea to shift your MBUS backup rear sight forward of the prism mount. (Still probably beats an AK’s sight radius!)
1) Just flip the base around. You'll get the last lug. Improving eye relief. 2) You could have just used the oem base with the straight riser. You won't need irons. Yes, i get that redundancy is king. But if you end up in a position where you need to go to irons, you're already pretty much F'd. And those are plastic. They'll most likely be wrecked, too. Its a great optic and won't trade mine for anything. Good choice man. Have fun with the new lego block.
Thanks! Wanted to show what it looks like through the optic. Hate reviews where someone just talks about the scope for 15 minutes and never shows what the view looks like.
I'm really looking into getting one of these & was considering putting the buis in front of it as you did, just not sure if I'm going straight up or cantilever ADM. Also, thanks for giving the 10yd look, haven't really seen a vid that shows how it looks on closer targets, very helpful.
Yeah, this is becoming the big worry about the low-magnification Micro prisms: they are wedded to the 5.56 BDC so they make the reticle scaled too small for ease of use. I really try to glean information on this issue from reviews. Reticle size is apparently a fatal flaw in the new 3x Vortex Spitfire, for example. (The 5x seems to be better.)
I think fi you wanted to get the optic closest to your eye and not have the locking mechanism in the way of your charging handle you could flip the mount around no?
@@marginallyinteresting thank you very much. I have the Midwest In. mount but was debating on getting the ADM because of the middle hole, and because it's ADM 😁
Do you think that I could use the qd mount with the cantilever from the microprism or isn’t it only attachable to the prism itself? Only asking because I’d prefer to keep my backup irons behind the optic instead of moving them in front
Yes, you could, but it might interfere with something in front if you did. I ended up changing the charging handle to a Breek Arms Warhammer and moving the mount to the rearmost slot.
This was an amazing video. I have a X95 Tavor but it's kinda heavy with my lpvo setup on it. I am thinking of the micro prisim as our barrels in Canada are 18.5in on X95. Thoughts
Thanks! Should be a good setup to save some weight if you don't need the higher magnification, but the 5x coming out might be interesting if you do (I haven't seen one yet). I do like the 18.5" Tavor for the U.S., too. Here, the 16" needs a thicker buttplate to keep it out of SBR territory, so you're not saving much on length.
You're right, that's kind of tough. 3x is enough to shoot at those distances, but might not be enough for positive identification of your targets -- assuming you need it for that. Maybe try your LPVO limited to 3x and see if that works for you.
