I could be wrong but I believe that when Andrew says BJJ doesn't work he is talking about street situations. His main point is that if you grapple somebody to the ground, you are pretty well caught up with that person. If his buddy's jump you while you are submitting the guy, you will get your face stomped.
@enriquecabrera2137
@enriquecabrera2137 6 месяцев назад
And it follows the proper combat fundamentals rule of "nothing works until it does" so you can say NOTHING at all works ever and then make it work once and then say it works then and it doesn't count as hypocrisy because that's life. Life isn't about the theoretical but about the applicable. And not the theoretically applicable either but about the personal real world applicable.
@PauIdenino
@PauIdenino 6 месяцев назад
Yea and also he's over exaggerating like he does a lot of time. I'm sure he knows how important BJJ is in MMA for example.

If the other guy knows bjj but not how dangerous it can be youll wish you knew it too so you had the ability to just stand up.
@Jac0bIAm
@Jac0bIAm 6 месяцев назад
In one-on-one situations though, BJJ is pretty much king, as far as can be seen from a variety of MMA fights. In group fights, going to the ground is a bad idea, but even then, in group fights it's best to just run - I mean there is a group of people against you, unless you're armed to the teeth, you likely aren't going to win that one.
@enriquecabrera2137
@enriquecabrera2137 6 месяцев назад
@@PauIdenino and I'm sure he knows about 100% of normal life is zero percent MMA. By that logic everyone would say bjj is dumb and you should only be packing heat instead.

Andrew said he saw a few Kickboxers with aggressive style ended up with damaged brain at the age of 30'ish. That's why he prefer long range fighting style where most of the hit landed on the face and chin than the side of his head because to close & might result of brain damage in the long run.
@antonyslaughter

Hits to the chin are worse than side of the head. There’s a reason chin shots knock out more people that side of the head punches

@ChucksSEADnDEAD
@ChucksSEADnDEAD 6 месяцев назад
That's Andrews's problem. I am aggressive and I take very little damage, sometimes no damage. He's not responsible with his defense so of course he blocks shots with his head. God gave you shoulders and forearms to intercept incoming strikes, if you walk forward and block/slip eventually your adversary won't have the footing to put power on his hands.
@bendegorro754
@bendegorro754 6 месяцев назад
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD everyone are talented with different skill set. Coach can only train you to certain point. ISKA is not the top league, but he won twice. His style are working for him. Also you can't be so sure. Are you Pro ? ... are you on high level competition ? ... or so far only in sparring you get little damage. In sparring, no one actually want to kill you. The other thing ... Our skull are very strong, in combat, hit on the side of your head isn't that damaging than get fooked in the chin. But in the long run, your chance to become disabled retard are getting higher every time your side or rear got hit. The muscle that binding your brain parts are ripped. This is not conspiracy theory. Doctor have been warning people about combat sport that allow hit in the head.
@antonyslaughter
@antonyslaughter 6 месяцев назад
@@bendegorro754 yes and a hit to the chin does more brain damage. The reason a hit to the chin causes a knock out is it torques the brain stem and causes the brain to bounce around in your skull. A hit to the temple and a chin shot cause similar damage to your thinker

What I've noticed from the "Tree analogy" in my experience is that a lot of times staying very tall absorbs a lot of the punches you take, as they do not have that much mass to land on, that being said it is at the expense of being off balance if the attack continues. The other side of the coin is those fighters who just bend over in a "C" shape and take every jab so hard you hand hurts and you feel bad for hitting them, haha.
@chi7818
@chi7818 6 месяцев назад
I was actually thinking this. I’m not a trained fighter but a tree sways with the wind in order to not break while the rigid trees are the ones that break.
@humanbean3
@humanbean3 6 месяцев назад
then you have to think about why a punch with gloves fucks you up so bad, and its because of the shock your brain is taking from the G forces of your skull being moved. less weight, decreasing the mass you absorb, is not going to keep your skull from whiplashing your brain, and then you're going to be off balanced, maybe fall down, and get rocked some more. there's many variables and leaning straight back like that has more cons than pros.

i think tate is a better figher now than before. obviously he's not in fighting shape anymore, but his mind, technique, and understanding of the sport has matured a lot. if u watched his recent sparring videos, he used much more head movements and feints compared to this video and his defence was much better in his recent sparring video. he also threw a lot more jabs and setting up his shots a lot more

16oz gloves are slower, he also does boxing sparring now which allows more head movement and of course most people perform worse under the lights. It's hard to let loose and take risks when another man is tryna take your head of frfr

I think a big reason why he didnt do K1 was because 1.) He has had a detached Retina a lot and 2.) He was always was focused on money, he liked fighting but not enough to where he wanted to go that far and 3.) He just couldnt compete with some of them and I think he also couldn't' get enough recognition to fight in K1

Even at the fight VS Sahak Parparyan, where Andrew Tate did a lot more, including feints and breaking rhythm. He was faster and more aggressive. But he was only able to maintain that for 6 minutes. His opponent was able to force the game and keep it up for 13 minutes. That's the difference. Jessica Andrade had better combat conditioning than prime Andrew Tate. Alternative example: Peter "The Hurricane" Smit. Despite his tragic fate, that fighter really knew what is combat conditioning done right. A true champion. RIP. Legend.

I can't lie, one thing Tate always does well is throw a great cross, and at times:head movement.(In terms of baiting people.) It is definitely an essential move to his style, and understandable why. His style is a bit unorthodox, and probably not the best for everyone at high level: but he knows what he is doing. Not the greatest kickboxer, but I don't think he is a bad by any means. Glory/K1 level? Maybe not. But still leagues above most people.

i notice that in a lot of the exchanges andrew is caught by a straight on the way out of his opponents range but that straight sometimes barely nicks him and he could use that to pull counter or atleast anticipate the straight duck down and fire off a right hand(actually slip because ducking is hard for a tall guy, cant relate)
