In his prime: devastating. Fast, big, strong, cynical, winning mentality, great in the air, great outside the box, great inside the box, great dribbler, great technique, great team work on the whole pitch.. The guy was like a tornado.

did u just compared arrogant kid to Fernando Torres? Torres had more talent in his left toe , than Darwin has in his entire body, hes 6/10 finisher, poor passer nad dribbler, only fast...and overhyped cause he plays in Premier Leauge. Never compare them 2 ever again, its embarassing.@@BillyBadson0795

@@turntablesrockmyworld9315 Unlike those 2016- liverpool fans that are comparing Torres to Nunez in the comments I appreciate that you're giving him a proper opponent in the person of Luis Suarez. To me they were both vicious strikers. Torres was a bit more elegant in how he moved with the ball while Suarez was just savage. Loved both and I thank both for the happiness that they provided to us Fans. Cheers mate!

Watching him play was like watching a lion pick off a wounded gazelle. He was an apex predator, it was instinctual. No emotion, no fear, no mercy, and unrelenting dead-eye ruthlessness. Didn't say much, didn't complain for no service, barely spoke to the ref, he just had one thing on his mind at all times and was constantly on the hunt. I think that's what gave him an edge over every defense. Nothing phased him, he was always probing to make his own opportunities and looking for his next kill. List the top 10 centerbacks at that time and he didn't care, they were just prey to him. When he wanted the ball and you didn't meet his energy, he simply went right through you and took what he wanted. There were so many goals where he simply overpowered world-class centerbacks when they weren't up to the challenge.

One of the strikers I loved the most.Right foot, left foot, header, outside the box, around the goalie. He had everything, full package. When he is back to the goal and he turns his defender you know its over. With all that said, still don't know what happened to him at Chelsea. They don't make strikers like these nowadays. an underrated and under appreciated attribute about torres was how good he was at not only producing off balls shots, but how good at converting them he was. Seems like he wasn’t ever worried about winning a foul, even in the box always stood strong and tried 2 get a shot off, almost like he knew how could he was at those off balance shots so he took his chances.

Some Liverpool drama left him discouraged later on in his career but he's still easily one of the best strikers football has ever witnessed. Incredible goals, dribbling, skills and talent. My favorite forward ever after Berbatov. So much natural talent and skill. Amazing finishing and dribbling too. Liverpool's undeniably best striker. He's like a magician so clever and comfortable on the ball and fast paced. Love soccer players like him who are good persons in real life and show great sportsmanship on the field. Nothing but respect to the legendary El Niño Fernando Torres. Thanks for memories even as a Man Utd fan I admired this guy to bits and continue to do so. From my observation, Torres seems play rougher compare to other Liverpool striker. We see he outmuscle strong defender a lot but that also his downfall as injury of both knee slows him down after the worldcup. Unlike Suarez or Salah, Suarez with silky touch while Salah rather let it go some challenge but defender still make mistakes after so there is still chance. With Torres style of play that hurt his longevity.
