Mike Alaniz i understand so jordan never choked in the finals and that phrase was a referance to him😂 maybe i just take things to litteraly since i never heard him say jordan
Jordan's game 6 in the 1998 NBA Finals was his greatest performance. He knew that his best chance to win was game 6 and with Pip being out, Jordan carried that team. He made all of the right plays in those final 40 seconds and sunk that dagger that cemented his legacy.
@@hornetsxo4694 youre not wrong, but if you technically look at the amount he actually played, its a lil over 11 seasons worth as a bull. he only played 18 reg season games his sophomore year cus of a foot injury, not like he played his reg min when he came back either. they unleashed him in the playoffs against the celtics. he came back from retirement in '95 with like 17 games left in the reg season.
It's important to note that it took MJ just 11 seasons to do a majority of his damage. It took Lebron 17 just to get close. Like the kids say nowadays, "there are levels to this".
Jordan averages more offensive rebounds than lebron even though he averages less total rebounds. Something to think about when it comes to that statistical category.
what is the stat? offensive rebounds is basically gold for guards hehe.. westbrook defensive rebounds must not count hehe but offensive rebounds well that is great

With how people so comfortably established Jordan as the GOAT (sometimes even before his second repeat), for LeBron to even contest that #1 spot is already an incredible achievement
Jamal Jones for a long time it was Wilt then Kareem. If you talk to my grandpa he’ll argue forever about how Wilt is so much better than Jordan it’s all generational

Facts bro . Im still amazed watching him on RU-vid the things he could do was simply breath taking . Like u said I've still to the date never seen anything any man do what he could do and never lose in the big game that is unheard of..
Yep, that's why they say that you have to be perfect if you wanna beat Jordan's legacy, he had too many achievements in a little less than a decade. Being the best offensive and defensive player in the same season, and leading the Bulls to the 2 triplets by being the best scorer in those 2 lapses.

I’ve seen all the stats for both... at this point, I don’t care about the numbers. One thing I know for sure... no one looked better on the court (and in the air) than MJ. NO ONE.

Both are legendary. U can't deny that. Im definitely more of a Bron fan than MJ but i do feel MJ is Goat. Im just glad my guy is in the conversation. Im also glad i got to witness 2 of the best to ever do it. Great video btw
I can come up with a bunch of statistical reasons why MJ is better, but in the end what I always start with is the caliber of players Lebron has had is so much better than MJ. Wade, Bosh, Kyrie, Love, Davis, are all more impressive individual players than Pippen ever was. Pippen statistically was equivalent to an Antawn Jamison, although Jamison had more elite years. And ironically Jamison is one of the players on the Lebron teams that everyone says had no good players.
@@dash4800 but the rest of the league is also better. Almost every team in the league has someone on the bench now with a 46 inch vertical or better. Players are faster and stronger. Even ish Smith and dj Augustine out here breaking ankles shooting 3's amd dunking as back up point guards. Along with LeBron not getting the opportunity to Charles Barkley his way into so many more points. Ie. Back someone down in the post for 11 seconds. And the luxery of forcing the other team to play man against you do to rules.
@@321madmatt the players didnt get that much stronger or faster, the technology and trainingmethods got way better. lbj benefits as much from this as anyone else today

@TheRealist 811 i think it was %63 MJ and %19 or %21 LBJ. And other than that , we all know it was gonna be a MJ documentary. I love how MJ always wait it out for the documentary and then after 2016 Championship, he signed the contracts. Also, this new generation actually can see more footage of both players, can search a lot more stats and numbers about both of them. And because they watch LBJ and they also watch MJ too, they can decide who is better. If u look into +30 years people, most of them stuck to past and cant admit that LBJ is better. if not, cant admit he is really close to MJ and MJs Legacy. I am a basketball and LBJ fan, a Curry, a Kobe Fan. A MJ fan too. But MY GOAT is without a doubt LBJ. Lately, ive been talking and arguing about it a lot, so i search evwrything, every championship and playoff run MJ and LBJ had, every stats etc. I watch higglights and lowlights of both of them. And by the time, i came to realise LBJ is just better. And even tho MJ has 6-0 and scoring titles. LBJ's legacy and wht LBJ has done in his career is just greater than MJ. You shouldnt act like the only achievement in basketball are championships, finals record. But MJ is my 2nd without a doubt, so i respect people who puts him ahead of Bron. Btw I believe people will come to realise that LBJ is just better than MJ in 10-20 years. I really can see thats happening.
@TheRealist 811 most guys, like i said, is stuck there and car get out and admit LBJ's greatness but ofc its their opinion. Lebron literally helped Kyrie become who he is now, without MJ there was always gonna be Pippen. Pippen is a really really good player. I dont believe without LBJ, Kyrie is being a superstar. He has the skills and everything but he became the man thx to Bron. You said MJ never leaver Chicago. There is something slightly important to talk about there. MJ had an almost superteam after Pippen joined, im not talkinh about the last 3 championships, that was absolute nuts. But even with Pippen and decent role players, a nearsuper team. Compare to what LBJ got and what he faced to what MJ got and what he faced; we both know MJ had more advantage. Even in Miami, even in 2013, he had to carry even that team to the finals when Bosh and Wade playing like shit. If u watch those games you know what im talkin about. Other than that, James all career stats are easily better than MJ's Chicago* career stats. LBJ's playoff and finals games are easily more succesful than MJ's and if you look to game score leadings etc. You can see what im talkin about. Even with that much scoring title youd think MJ is the most efficient player, but most of the people say LBJ cant shoot and MJ isnt even more efficient than LBJ himself. Not in paint not in 3P line not in Long range. Im not saying MJ isnt great. Those watch u wrote there is awesome, but if u watch games, playoff runs, finals, all time stats; if u search how game score and efficiency works, how much both MJ and LBJ helped their team and how much LBJ is better(but still cant win those 6 finals). Look its simple dude, put LBJ in MJ spot. LBJ is winning at least 5 championships likr MJ did, Put MJ in LBJ's spot MJ is winning 1 mayybe 2 Miami championship probably 2011 or 2012 at best. And no other championships. And MJ is not even going to finals in 07, 17, 18. Thats my point. BTW TYSM FOR READING MY COMMENTS AND CHAT.

Michael Jordan is the single greatest grower and fostered his sport more than ever in the history of professional athletes. His level of fame made his sport better simply because he was alive to play it. No other professional athlete can make that claim with the possible exception of Muhammad Ali, but THAT is the caliber of person we're talking about here. @S C Russell and Kareem have better arguments. Kareem has more wins and championships combined across all levels or play. Conference championships are good for win averages, 1st round exits are bad for averages.
@S C Can’t have a finals without a conference championship. This is why I mentioned who I mentioned, especially Kareem. I factor direct matchups, team/organization strength, trends/play styles, rules(zone, hand checking, illegal defense, 3 in a key, etc), “context”, years played, stats, percentages/averages, teammates, coaching, schemes.
Willy Garcia but that doesn’t make any sense? Why would he claim that Jordan is the goat over a player that brought his team it’s only championship? Dude sounds like he’s reaching for likes. Something irks me about the way he would talk about wanting to retire early and of his own accord. He even went to pursue a baseball career as we all know. Allen Castro He didn’t melt down. He played far-superior teams and lost. ‘86 Celtics, anybody? Look at his playoff average his first three years when he was 1-9. Even Game 3 of the ‘86 playoffs when he only scored 22, he had two jaw-dropping plays to start the game, then spent the rest of the game trying to pass the ball. Yeah, you could mention Game 4 in ‘89 or Game 1 in ‘95, but in ‘89 he more than made up for it in Game 5, and in 1995 he was coming back from baseball, and more than made up for it in ‘96. Lebron? Don’t think so.
Hey MJ did not play in 1994 and retired. retired in 1999. It is worse than not playing a regular season game and it's his fault. All the regrets you've seen in the documentary, crying for a 7th ring after 20 years lol. Lebron's career is not over yet, wait til he beats all time scoring... something Jordan couldn't do. If LBJ wins this year 28 percent will become 40 percent lolol. Inching closer thats why Jordan made a documentary for people who don't know him lol. ESPN gave no.2 to LBJ which I oppose. I think Kareem is no.2 and not LBJ yet. Media wants this conversation for present and future and it's very obvious.
Part of the GOAT discussion isn’t about stats but about respect... true BBall heads don’t even have LBJ at 2 let alone 1. It’s a non-debate. MJ still goat
I’m 16 years old and every since I was little I’ve watch basketball. I’ve seen the dominance and breakthrough of LeBron but I do not think he should be in the goat subject yet. His career isn’t over, he can achieve much more. Also why is Kobe so overshadowed and just an afterthought? I my opinion the debate should be between Kobe and LeBron. The played in the same era, have multiple championships(Kobe 5). He was also chasing the ghost of Chicago and almost caught him but his body gave up. I believe MJ is in his own territory because NO ONE WILL EVERY REACH THE PEAK HE HAS, 3 peat, 2 times that’s dominance can’t be matched. This doesn’t mean you can’t debate it but he’s in his own special place and will always be known as the GOAT. But LeBron and Kobe make more sense to me.
Jordan let the game come to him. He could play with the ball or off-ball to blend seamlessly with the system. The triangle offense system keeps everyone touching the ball so the players can stay in rhythm. Lebron forces his system onto his teammates. Lebron dominates the ball while his teammates stand still around the perimeter. The lack of ball movement and player movement is the reason why players lose rhythm while playing with Lebron.
This is very true. LeBron is my favorite player but I've never liked watching those games down the stretch in his second stint in Cleveland where the offense would simply consist of LeBron dominating the ball while his team mates would just wait for him to try to score or wait until he threw it to them only when they got wide open which would took over half the shot clock to have manifest. Unless they're a perimeter all star very solid players will lose confidence playing that way as we seen in 2018.
James has to get 7 rings with one 3 peat (to make up for his losses) THEN we can consider whether to form a committee to deliberate whether he can be even compared to Jordan.
MJ 13 yrs Bulls 6 rings, Kobe 20 yrs Lakers 5 rings, Lebron 17 yrs Cavs-Heat-Cavs-Lakers 3 rings / Jordan never left his team to try to win championships with help from other stars.
Yeah but after Kobe got that last ring the werent able to bring in anymore talent. NBA blocked the acquisition of Paul cause the team was going to be sold. Lakers didnt bother after that. D'Antoni killed Gasol's knees and Kobe's ankles after he took over.
After watching the last dance documentary, I realized something. I used to think Lebron only had an angle to be talked about in the conversation of being the GOAT, because he had more assists, rebounds and controlled more of team play, while Jordan was more of a pure scoring weapon. Lebron could get to the finals even with bums on his team, while Jordan when he retired, his team was still winning 55 games a year. Sounds good for Lebron doesn't it? Then we look into the behind the scenes. MJ wasn't just a team mate. He was a coach, a motivator, and a monster that would devour his team mates if they didn't bring their game and drive to practice. So much that when they are playing in the playoffs, the opponents don't seem that scary at all. MJ's team mates were good, BECAUSE of MJ. Even after he left, the team mates were still good. Lebron never had that kind of effect on his team. So if you ask me, for a single game who would I pick? I might lean a bit more to Lebron. But for a season, for a franchise, MJ all the way.
Exactly. Ive been saying this for the longest time. People keep pointing out that teams become trash when Lebron leaves. And Jordan's Bulls still won 55 when he left. Truth be told, is that not supposed to be a point for Jordan for bringing out the best in people even when he was not around? I mean, who's the better teacher? Someone whose students succeed when he's not around, or someone whose students become bums when he's not around?
I do like your reasoning but I’ll have to add the season that Jordan didn’t play the bulls made it to the playoff and actually did some damage. Each team lebron has left (especially the cavs) has become an abysmal mess. Lebron took some of the weakest teams we’ve ever seen to the finals.
you can easily say MJ's conversation ended when he got bounced in the first round of the playoffs. No one is perfect and at the end of the day it is a team sport. MJ nor Lebron did it by themselves.
What is often overlooked on "The Shot" vs. the Cavs, was that Jordan was double by Ehlo and Larry Nance before he got the ball. Jordan just ran away from the double team like he often did. Lebron fans think he was single covered but he was actually doubled and tripled nearly every game. See the RU-vid videos "Jordan vs. Knicks defense," "Jordan vs. Pistons defense," or "Jordan vs. hard double teams."

Jordan won 6 championships without losing a final in 1,072 games and LeBron in 1,117 games has lost 5 times and has only won 3 times (updated 2018) •MJ also shocked the league by being the first (and only) player to have 100 blocks and 200 steals in the same season, then turned around and did it again the next year.. •Mj also has more career blocks (893) than Lebron James (853) despite playing in 22 LESS career games and being the smaller guy. Also, MJ averaged 1.6 blocks per game in the 1987-88 season which is absolutely bonkers for a 6’6″ shooting guard. Seriously this list can keep going. This isn’t even a debate. Mj is the GOAT. MIchael Jordan: •NBA record 5 playoffs series’ averaging atleast 40ppg •Only player in history to lead league in scoring and win DPOY •Highest scoring average, points per game, in any championship series: 41.0 vs. Phoenix Suns, 1993 NBA Finals •Only rookie in NBA history to lead his team in four statistics (1984-85) •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring, win Most Valuable Player, and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season (1987-88) •Only player in history to average at least 30pts 6reb 5assists And 2 steals per game AND HE DID IT 7 TIMES. •Only player in NBA history to win Rookie of the Year (1984-85), Defensive Player of the Year (1987-88), NBA MVP (1987-88, 1990-91, 1991-92, 1995-96, 1997-98), All-Star MVP (1988, 1996, 1998), and Finals MVP (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998) •Only player in NBA history to lead the league in scoring and win the NBA championship MORE THAN ONCE in the same season * He did this SIX TIMES!! (1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93, 1995-96, 1996-97, 1997-98) •One of two players in NBA history to score 3,000 points in a season: 3,041 points scored in 82 games played (37.1 ppg) (1986-87) * Wilt Chamberlain is the only other player to achieve this. •MJ is also the only player in NBA history to score over 40 points at age 40, and he did it twice! •In 1988, MJ earned: Dunk Champ, All Star Game MVP, NBA Scoring Title, League MVP and Defensive Player of the Year. Michael in only ELEVEN complete seasons with the Bulls: -10 scoring titles, -Won Defensive Player of the Year, -9 times all defensive team, -9time All NBA, -5 league MVPs -6 finals MVPs All 11 seasons. Mj has done in 11 seasons things Lebron hasn’t done and won’t do in his whole career… Remind me again...who is the GOAT?.
Ha! Lebron is the greatest talent we've ever seen! He's bigger, stronger, faster, jumps higher than his competiton - he's the single greatest scoring/passing combination in the history of the NBA. Nobody comes close. 3 time NBA champion. 8 straight finals appearances. Dominate in every facet of the game on a level we may never see again. Forget basketball! Lebron James is one of the greatest athletes who has ever walked the planet earth regardless of sport - there may never be another like him. When its all said and done, when Lebron James finally hangs up his sneakers for the last time - a statue in front of the united center will still say "The best there ever was. The best there ever will be".. And it will be as true as its ever been - and always will be.
Same thing I always say to this argument... You have one game to win for 10 million dollars ....whos your first pick ? The answer is who the Goat is ...MJ every time!
@@carletpierre1895 vertical is not based on height thst is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Look up spudd webb. You may be right on Zion but it's not his height
Considering that Jordan's vertical (48 inches) was higher than Lebron's (44 inches), I am very confused why this video seems to suggest otherwise (MJ defied gravity vs Lebron ignored it)...
Lebron is much bigger and heavier than MJ so considering that it makes Lebron's vert more impressive for a person of his size to achieve that but nonetheless in the end you could still debate that MJ jumped higher no matter. Just something to think about.
@VICKtorious9 I think the bigger issue is Lebrons team as in he is the leader of those teams have lost 6 times. How many times you allowed to lose and still be considered the greatest lol. Least back up your argument instead of claiming people are dick riders
@@favianhernandez9428 man the coach is just trying to get views. Mj has a 6 0 winning pace in the finals, and NEVER disappointed anyone. LeBron did. The coach is thinking as a coach: who would I choose between them? Ofc he'll rather choose LeBron, 'cause MJ was a nightmare to coach, and only Phil Jackson was able to. LeBron on the other hand coaches himself, but that does make him the best player? Maybe? But does that allows him to get the best achievements? No. MJ had, so, I think MJ is still the best. LeBron could be easier to coach and taking you to the finals (yet, in the east with superteam), but if you want to win, you have to go with MJ. And don't let me start with the problems LeBron had with big men in his career. MJ never had those, were other people to have problems with him. Any time
I'm a LeBron fan and will agree with you and say MJ is the goat the greatest of all time but LeBron is the second greatest of all time. LeBron's argument is that they always got him chasing Jordan when y'all should just be happy that he's second facts
