I saw the Devil… of course he wants to make the serial killer suffer - he killed his pregnant girlfriend in the most gruesome way. Cabin Fever is just disgusting with no redeeming values… hint: don’t comb your hair, pick your nose or scratch ANYTHING.
It might be a lot, but aside from some old classics like Buckaroo Bonsia most of the new stuff isn't very good. I've seen the new Firestarter and Ambulance they aren't good. And the Lord Of the Rings series is a mess just like the crappy previews they put out. Not much to get excited about. I did enjoy Samaritan though.

"A slow 1996 pace"......wtf does that even mean?!?! Slow-paced like Mission:Impossible, Twister, Independence Day,, The Rock, Broken Arrow, Eraser, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Mars Attacks, Bulletproof? All action/adventure movies that came out in 1996. The Ghost and the Darkness is just a slow-paced historical drama with action elements.. And those can happen at any time.
It's nice that Amazon is getting over being the home of B- (and worse) movies. But that's also a reason I really enjoy Amazon and put it on more than other streaming: I put it on for stupid movies I don't have to pay attention to while cooking, working out, doing chores, etc.
I think you have it reversed on American Werewolf in London. It is a horror with comedic elements. For example, there is nothing comedic about the ending. Technically, it is the opposite, tragic.
Finally I Saw The Devil is returning to a streaming service I have. Been wanting to rewatch that for a long time. Probably watch Troll Hunter again. Top 5 favorite movie and is much easier to stream than having to get the Blu Ray out.
Good stuff. Can’t wait to watch some of these. One thing to point out. Like you said, Signal is originally a 16 episode series from South Korea. But I was thrown off by the clip because the writing on the whiteboard and the city scenes are Japan. Turns out there’s a Japanese movie adaptation of the series. But all good. I’m guessing this was the only or best clip you could find.
For anyone who hasn’t seen Mother (Korean film) it’s on Prime Video. I caught it on Netflix It’s the like a Hitchcokean thriller. Darren you should check it out.
Another great video! However, you still are having problems with pixelizations. I watch over hundreds of videos each month and yours is the only one that seems to have this problem. Just thought you might like to know. I let you know this a couple of times but never got a response.
I chuckled abit when I saw "Subtext here" under Darren's name in the beginning of the video but I really believe his content is quality and his editor is in a rush to release and doesn't recognize. They also get some of the movies title card wrong. I don't know lol but again I chuckled, I moved on to the movies and yea. The ghost and the darkness, is a movie that is more than slightly rewatchable, it's one of those films that you can put on and just let it play, nice scenery. You can see the lions in the field museum in Chicago, or you could in the past, since it is based on real events. Obviously, there are a bunch of good movies in this list, many that are pretty obscure.

The breed of dog in the movie Dog is actually a Belgian Malinois (ma-luhn-waa), very capable and driven breed. Often working with special forces etc. You can see them on RU-vid Paragliding from helicopters and scaling 12 ft walls. Also big big fan of your channel. Watching from Tasmania 🙃😁

If you really enjoy watching people sitting at computers typing on keyboards, Europa Report is your rule 34 movie. That's pretty much all that happens. The rest of the list is pretty darn good.
I don't know why exactly but I really enjoyed Europa Report. It's the type of movie whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The ending I found particularly eerie.

100% disagree with you that The Blair Witch Project doesn't hold up (and Cabin Fever does). Blair is still creepy and 'bleeds" October/Halloween. It is easily one of the best found footage flicks ever(if not the best). Besides that, good list.
Really loved this Prime Video movie "Rockaway" One of my favorite themes is male relationships and coming of age. This is a bittersweet story line, beautifully written with super talented young actors.

I just watched "Goodnight, Mommy" from 2014. I hate subtitles but I wanted to be able to compare it to the remake coming to Prime. That said, it was a strange, very slow, movie. I found the performances to be rather flat. I hope the Prime remake is better acted.
Mother is probably the only film I've ever said this about: Read the wiki explanation of the film, first. I watched it blind and was moved by it but totally confused. Once I understood what it symbolized, I thought it was fucking brilliant and wished I had known before I saw it the first time.

Mother is polarizing for sure. For me, I was South Pole all the way. Watch Let the Right One In instead, and then catch the US remake. Both are fantastic.
*I saw the Devil* movie once before and boy did it have me with my mouth hanging open. Especially when the cop snuck into the bad guys friends hideout and how callous these people were at killing their victims ...not to mention the last 10 min, Wow 😮to say the least!!
I think your take on the trailers for ROP is somewhat off. If these trailers can be called amazing, the word becomes meaningless. The production value surely is there, but just look at the make up and the costumes - I think Cindarella had a better style than this one.

The film Wanted ruined the great story Mark Millar wrote for the comic book series of the same name. If you want the unfiltered story read the comic. It's been collected and you can get it wherever you buy your books.
The Rings of Power is a slow burn that's all I've heard. They can't reference the movies so anything they do or say has nothing to do with the movies plus it's thousands of years in the past so why would they. Take it as something completely separate from Lord of the Rings.
