What will you use to protect the tunnel from erosion? If it's just mud it's not going to last too long, especially because you didn't put any retaining walls on it. Please do something before it collapses!
I was thinking the same thing. I think it would be a good idea to run some bamboo pipes through the tunnel so that even if it did collapse, the water would be able to pass through.
Most of these rip-off channels cheat along the way. They use modern tools to dig (for example) and then rough up the edges with sticks. With this video however I could not discover clear tell tale signs of cheating in this one, but I am still doubtful. At least this one has an original subject.
Determination, Courage, Tolerance & Perseverance........ You Have it All .......Great Man.....someone might not like you.....Nothing to anything from you.....one man Land...One Man Operation...OMO.....Brilliant!
@@ee5142 What do you mean? I used to think of myself as "woke" back in 2012. Nowadays I look at myself as aware of some things while being completely dumbfounded for other ones.
Those 6600 people who clicked dislike are those who can't stand the simple hard work needed in primitive life. Or they just think the video is too monotous but that means they have high expectations for a title saying Drainage tunnel lol. One thing I learned watching these kind of videos is you can accomplish anything with hard work. Need more houses? Need more tools? Build them. Want a beautiful Manor? Build it. Want an underground tunnel that lets you escape amidst disaster? Dig it. Last one just sounds cool... Maybe a underground house...
Your skill and tenacity is very amazing. The amount of earth moved with a couple of sticks and a weaved basket is unbelievable. Your channel is very educational and I learn something new everytime I view it. Thank you from Ontario Canada friend.
All other Primitive channels are posting “how to build hiding or under ground swimming pool”....he is the only one building how to drain the swimming pool!
Every time I see people building those elaborate swimming pools out in the jungle, I just keep going like... "oh, it's a standing pool of water with no drainage, so... are you actually *trying* to catch malaria/zika/other parasitic disease?" and it makes me sad because those are still amazing feats of engineering and dedication, just... drainage matters.
Man looking back at this it is really amazing what it has become with your own large fish pond, swimming pool and plantation now in full scale, metal tools e4c.
I wonder how many place we could do this in the US, just experimenting, totally without a permit or consulting anyone for anything. Even on private land, you'll need permits for anything that could affect surrounding landscapes, water levels, etc. This kid is amazing, lots of energy and problem solving goes into his projects. He thinks like a real ancient survivor.
He built a drainage tunnel...cool. Are we ignoring the fact this guy built his own WATERFALL?! Watching the water move down that trough was quite satisfying lol.
If you are keen on leaving modern society (It's obviously fucked), then help me build a town at some sort of island or coastline. It will be based on something right out of the early 18th century, and there will only be "pre-industrial age" technology used. The town is to be built, inspired by Nassau or some other colony in the 18th century Bahamas. Islands or other acreage cost a lot of money, but if we are many, and we all sell our properties, it should be easy to afford the island/land and resources needed. I really don't think it should be a problem to sell your property and unnecessary belongings, if you are planning to leave modern society anyways. A couple of islands I have in mind are, Matana South seas plantation, Igoigoli Island and Whitsunday Island. There are also some coastal areas that could be used. Maybe something in New Guinea. Too be honest coastal areas are likely a more viable solution than small islands. Acreage bought off the mainland is way cheaper than islands that are the same size. Remember that if one person gets a couple followers those followers might also get some, and then we have a chain reaction. This is possible guys. If you are interested, then like my comment so other people can see that you are interested. Contact me on email: emiladefoged@gmail.com
Minemilx you are better off finding a small island that you can afford, or can’t afford, but are close enough that you just need a larger down payment than you can afford and make a kickstarter for buying the island, then inviting like minded (including those that contributed to your down payment).... Start with a RU-vid page and Facebook page about it, and the types of skills necessary..... Good luck.
In the true spirit of late Paleolithic man to early Iron Age. You took a risk but with brawn and brain accomplished the task. There is a reason women out live men. It’s in our genes. Thank you for sharing.
Man, easily the most impressive project of all primitive channels in terms of labor-intensive undertaking haha! Crazy! And also a bit dangerous! Don't get trapped in the tunnel with tons of mud over you. You wouldn't like that ... Stop the water with a little dam and create a rice field? I know nothing about rice but the fields are usually underwater part of the season?

I'd rather move to a mountain top where the rising sea levels due to climate change won't get me, and I won't leave this fucked society. I'd rather work on fixing it.
You can go ahead and browse google street view and compare it to photorealistic paintings from Venice across the centuries. It’s been relatively slow and steady. Places like New York will simply build levies if it becomes a problem over the next hundred years or so. I don’t know why you’re worried about rising water.
If it collapses, he can just remove the big clumps of clay by hand... It doesn’t need to be covered, he made it a tunnel to save having to move two tons of dirt.
I agree, It will colapse for sure, because of the water flow that will erode the top and walls making the hole bigger and unstable. The solution is a waterprooving hole.
Maintaining a spooky tunnel isn’t the goal here, he’s just trying to drain his lot without having to do unnecessary work. If it blocks up from a few clumps from the tunnel’s ceiling falling down, I’m sure he’d rather poke it with a stick than go back inside.

What do you mean? If you look at the right side of that bar at the bottom of the video, it says 13:58. I think that means that’s how long the video is. But it’s very close to 14:00, so I said 14 minutes
I don't think so. To me I see the title... Primitive Technology: Drainage tunnel, I see that his work is indeed primitive work and I too see tunnel work. So he is just making the title on point to what he is making. I think a lot of people think this guy is copying Primitive Technology.. but he isn't. Primitive Technology (main channel) Used a key word for his channel name.. so when someone makes a video about building with primitive tools out in the forest.. what are your keywords gonna be for the video's title? yep that's right.. Primitive Technology. Not many people understand it but I do.\, that's why I believe this creator isn't just copying,
Aaron P.B. They are different names? Really? So why didn’t he Just use his in the title rather than the guys channel Name who has millions of views? Would you consider digging a tunnel with sticks a primitive skill or primitive technology? He isn’t my hero I asked a simple question and you’re butt hurt about it.
WinterCraft He isn’t copying primitive technology with the skills he is showing In the video. He clearly knows what he is doing. But he is using the name for views. Would you consider digging a tunnel in the mud with sticks a primitive technology or skill?
Gabe Kline everything you do can be dangerous, doesn't mean it has to be. Bamboo would have made good bracing. Dangerous is usually a choice, not a necessity.
Damn hard worker! When it came to letting the water flow through your tunnel, I’d suggest using a series of bamboo pipes to channel the water through, without risking erosion, which could collapse your tunnel. Also, if the tunnel did collapse, if you use strong bamboo, they might survive and continue to channel the water through. I’d also suggest putting a bamboo barrier at each end if your trench/tunnel, to prevent animals using it and maybe weakening it.
Anyone else find it fun to think about the fact that some of those rocks he pulled out haven’t seen the light of day in thousands, if not millions of years?
Very nice idea and result. But it was very Dangerous I know it is primitive and you don't have access to steel trench box. But still, you were dead if it had colapsed. This deep, the soil is subjected to high lateral pressure.
SpredDub not to mention how the constant flow of rushing water will create some kind of small disaster (I imagine this would be likely to cause a mudslide)
It's amazing the things this guy as well as many others on RU-vid can do. With a little bit of sweat and tears you can pretty much do anything you put your mind too.
6.3million views!!!!!!!! Holy SHIT!!! Of a dude digging a tunnel by hand!!! That’s 6.3 million people who are thinking “I should do that!” And “how does he still have all his toes! Primitive Skills dude is a legendary BEAST!
Bill Bob a lot of these types of you tubers are “fake”. The point of these videos is to demonstrate and show how primitive technology was used during those times not so they can brag about working 12 hours a day digging a hole through a mountain
Channel Primitive Technology might have used modern tools off the camera too then. Fuck that channel, fuck this channel, fuck all channel, fuck everything, lets send our troops to those area and promote democration!
esta bien agradeceré a los protagonistas que asen estos tutoriales bastante me ayuda como militar aparte de nuestra capacidad de sobre vivencia. felicitaciones y éxitos
Your going to reach 1 million subscribers by the end of the year mark my words. You guys deserve this 100% the amount of work and passion you guys have is amazing. Keep going strong 💪🏽
Hey guys, I'm from a developed city in PA in the USA. I have little or no knowledge of the primitive techniques you showcase and have been doing for centuries, but let me critique everything you do and tell you how it's wrong and express ways of improvement. Cause I'm an American. Thats what we do.
i wonder if that the wall will take some damage over time, if the water erode the wall ect. if so, take some clay on the wall? water will not penetrate clay if resneble qualty of the clay.
