Basically going Elheim, Bastorias & Albion before eventually tackling Drakenhold last (lol) Endgame items against the squishy early-game arc is overkill, pretty much.

After clearing Elheim and having an average level of 23, you can head north of Eucuit & straight to the Umbalcons checkpoint to beat the team there for the Bastorias progress. Heck, you don't even need to full-clear Bastorias before you reach Albion. The extreme west of Elheim has a port leading straight to Albion, the same way as how the extreme top-right of Drakenhold has ports leading to Bastorias.
