It's an interesting contrast. Malzeno reaches up in a last effort to grasp power, but it's too late; the Qurio have taken enough that they can abandon ship and seek other vessels. Primordial, in its last moments, quietly accepts its fate, the last outbreak of power enough to deny the Qurio a foothold and drag them down with it.
@MonHun That was not the question rip. The question was "do elders actually die unless Nergigante kills them?" In which case, to answer @Tad Dad's question, yeah they do typically. They die like anything else does, with or without Nergigante.
@MonHun I think you messaged the wrong person, or you just didn't read my message where I explicitly stated what Tad Dad's question was and answered him.
primordial's like "NO, YOU FUCKERS DIE WITH ME" i love all the little details they went into making primal malzeno, dude gives zero shits about the qurio and wants them gone compared to his "normal" counterpart
@@dinorex3464 Talk about benovelent. Seriously I think it has to be one of the most benovelent Monster in the franchise outside of Monster Hunter Stories.
It's more like the Qurio have lost their last possible host. Primordial Malzeno is already dead to do anything to the Qurio, and storywise Primordial Malzeno is the last possible host for the Qurios as we already took down standard Malzeno, Gaismagorm as well as the Risen Elders.
@@crazy13alex Think about it tho': What would Primordial Malzeno been freed from? They're the pure, genuine, healthy form of the Malzeno. Upon dying, Primordial Malzeno is even kind enough to kill some Qurios. So again, what is that thing they'd been freed from? That's why it makes more sense to me that Qurio Malzeno was the one being freed upon death, even if the Qurio was just leaving their old host.
My theory on why the Quiro die with primezeno is that in the fight we can see how desperately the Quiro want this malzeno almost like a last resort or something, I don’t know if This was already talked about but I think that maybe the Quiro were about to die off since they didn’t have a host or something and they wanted a full purified powerful malzeno and tried everything in their power to force primezeno to succumb to there influence. It’s really cool to see ecologicaly in a MH game to see how creatures have emotion and urges and how they rely or even force each other for their own benefit
Something else to note is that while the Afflicted Malzeno existed in symbiosis with the Qurio, the two sharing their energy with one another, Primordial was actively trying to use as much qurio energy as possible when they latched onto him to an extent that the Afflicted Malzeno never did. He was trying to drain these little shits as much as possible so that, ultimately, they would starve and perish once thrown off be it through his victory against them or his slaying at the hands of the hunters. Dude was multiversal 4D chessing this shit lmao.
Wow. PriMal didn't even roar even in its last moments. I like to think it felt betrayed, not just by the Qurios, but the hunters. It painted itself an image as the peaceful guardian knight of the kingdom, and this is how its people repays it? I can only imagine the disappointment and sorrow it must have felt, especially on the fact that its job was still not done.
well tbf in the story you never go to finish Malzeno off, but yeah it would feel betrayed or thankful depending on the bleakness of the situation. Since after it goes into that super mode it never gets out of it until we beat the fuck out of it or it dies. It might be thankful it didn't end up like the other Malzeno but if the quirio threat wasn't that bad and we kill him then yeah feeling of betrayal definitely
Normal malzeno: one final grasp of power, but denied. Primordial malzeno: retains honor and pride, taking down the wicked along with him Basically, a corrupt shell failing to achieve power vs a honorable knight slaying its nemesis at the cost of its own life
@@rohanthomas6629 I guess that’s something. Doesn’t change the fact that he didn’t actually get anything done. Him and Sif fought valiantly, but it’s the protagonist that ended up defeating Manus and the Abyss while Artorias got all the credit for it.
I kinda feel bad for killing PriMal seeing as he was the good guy the entire time. At least with his dying breath, he took the bloodsucking parasites that tried to corrupt him down with him.
Malzeno: No..! No! This cannot be my end..! Noooooooo.... (Dies) P. Malzeno: I... Have been doomed to my end... So be it... I have done my part... For the Kingdom... Hunter, I leave the rest...to you..... (Dies)
I've already thought of Brachydios and Raging as of some sort of hero that lost it's mind to power, but now I realize the one who fits more that theme it's Malzeno, and perfectly fits that vampire theme
Yknow, whats cool of having this side by side is that you can really tell how much the qurio have affected and deteriorated the malzeno cus primordial is, well the primordial apperance of the species. Qurio malzeno has lost the scales that were coating its wings, its bone structure is thinner, the wings themsleves are more damaged and are over all thinner, and he doesnt have the ridge of scales around its shoulders. A less armored and more delicate body compared to how the would naturally look like. Probably why it uses its "wing claw" to attack instead of the wing tip like primordial. Its bones arent as resistant anymore and it uses a more solid/ a part with a higher consentration of bones to do it. Its freaking awesome, really shows the "knight thag fell from grace"
@@jonasfadi8213 yup! I find Malzeno/Primalzeno and Artorias's notions to be quite similar, honorable knights corrupted by the scourge they seeked to destroy, forced to fight you because of such
Honestly I think the world of monster hunter is basically fucked from the qurios. Like I know it’s a gameplay thing but literally doing a single anomaly investigation can bring up to 8 more, let alone keeping the original in rotation. How many thousands of afflicted monsters will it take for the guild to realize that they need to find a better way to deal with the qurio? And the title updates only show that it’s getting worse with basically gods being born in monster form like risen shagaru. Meanwhile bahari seems to be having the time of his life studying it all. Maybe he’s actually behind the entire qurio-pocalypse and is basically using the entire world as a testing ground? Bahari is the true villain of monster hunter rise.
Risen shagaru is like a double problem since it effectively combines 2 epidemics into 1. Though the qurio prolly will be 500% ignored until they bring back the malzeno. Just like the frenzy virus and magalas you don't know but they tend to just ignore stuff like this the next game later. Like we had apex(frenzy monsters) who overcame the virus like hunters and we haven't seen them since 4 and they can spread the virus as well.
Anyone else realize how when primordial dies, he doesn’t even roar for his final stand? Edit: he kinda just chirped (that weird click noise i dont know how to describe it lol)
Afflicted Malzeno: No...my powers....curse you h-hunter.... Primordial Malzeno: Free at last.....you may have killed me....don't be a-ashamed.....you....have...freed....me....
A quote from an elden ring character named Millicent that best describes Malzeno. "There is something I must return to Malenia. The will that was once her own. The dignity, the sense of self, that allowed her to resist the call of the scarlet rot. The pride she abandoned, to meet Radahn's measure." There was something that Malzeno lost to meet its measure against gaismagorm, the call of the qurio perhaps. It had made it lose the sense of pride that Primordial Malzeno once exuded. I'd like to think that Primordial Malzeno is in denial, the denial of the qurio that is trying to become his host. And much like Malenia becoming the Goddess of Rot, Malzeno laments to fuse with the Qurio to meet our measure.
