Prince opened my eyes to how awesome the world and life can be.. straight up i miss this man who i never knew i WAS a die hard rap hip hop fan but Prince had expanded my musical taste vastly and exponentially and i love, respect, and admire him for it.. plus he loved God, also something missing in todays artistry

Which ones consumed very strong pain killers and died afterwards?. It’s not crazy unexpected news that drugs kill. When they passed away the lesson for us was dang drugs kill anyone rich or poor. I should stay away from that. Heroin, opium, Fentanyl, morphine for regular use to treat pain is not a solution but a short term remedy with lethal and more painful consequences when used beyond prescriptive doses. Personally I never used narcotics to treat pain and never will. Our human bodies were not designed to use drugs. I believed that since I tripped frighteningly on LSD in high school and stopped using any man made drugs to escape reality right after that. Now I consume no drugs because God as Jesus accepted worldly suffering and didn’t shrink away from it even when Romans tried to minimize his pain by giving him wine to mitigate his pain while on the cross on nails. “And they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it. “ in Mark 15:23. So wiser to not escape pain with drugs but treat it soberly. Do what Jesus did and you will be on God’s side. Don’t try to cheat your pain away. Deal with it naturally or talk to a Doctor and pray for your pain to go away.
Damn indeed. When Prince did his hard funk in 85 and 86 the sound of his live performances sounded so full. Sometimes his albums could be more high fidelity than bass driven but this is a groove and half and he didn't release it even on a b side! A lot of artists back then would have sold their mother to be that prolific and good.
Speaking on my own behalf, as an American Black woman born in 1992, I GET IT!!!! I am grateful to have embarked on my Prince journey at a very young age by way of my father being an AVID fan!!!! I understand wholeheartedly your sentiments in hoping the people as a collective encounter Prince’s art & acknowledge it as the FORCE FIELD that it is!! PRINCE is why I now understand why ppl care about Rembrandt, why ppl care about Beethoven, why people care about Mozart, or Bach, or Monet!!! Because in 500+ years, PRINCE WILL STILL BE RELEVANT !!!

You hear Wendy’s guitar when Prince isn’t doing that crazy solo and then Wendy does the same solo towards the end in the background and the rhythm guitar in between. Lisa is on the synthesizer. This would’ve been a tight ass band with Wendy, Lisa, Sheila, Levi, Eric, Bonnie, Dr Fink, Miko still as second guitarist and Cat, Wally and Brooks

When I would go see this dude I would be blown away by how tight he had the band. They literally sounded like tape. Beyond perfect. And he could direct them with eye movements. He would show this off. He would make them do crazy stuff. I saw this time after time & it never changed. They were always flawless. Prince did that.

The actual title of this is "Love U 2". There were 3 titles (in addition to this one) recorded for "The Flesh" project that day; the others (which feature the same lineup) were titled "Most Strongest Whiskey," "Voodoo Who" and "U Gotta Shake Something."
This is so funky. The estate really needs to start releasing albums of recordings like this from the vault and full live shows on audio & video. They're moving much too slow.
James White gets a name check 4:30 🤩;just diligently knowing who was “on the scene”, who he was competing with. Musically, this was & probably still is “next level”. Listen to Kiss (his breakthrough to a mainstream audience) and it’s funky as hell, without a bass. No one had done that before & maybe this jam might have contributed to that (cut out what’s not necessary).
