Doesn’t he. I’ve always had a soft spot for Prince Edward, possibly because he is the youngest of the Queens children and in a sense, he was “less noticeable” only because it was necessary to have both Charles and Anne “known” to the world from the onset. Then when Andrew became a teenager he was more on the scene, again out of necessity as he was the next heir following Charles. Edward was fortunate in being the youngest as it provided a bit more shelter from the press and his parents were able to be a little bit more hands on with him. Edward and his wife, Sophie , have always worked solidly hard for the Royals, and were often not giving much media presence so I think many people mistakenly think that they’ve just stepped up since the past 5-10 years, which certainly isn’t the case. I’m an Aussie too, do you remember the Gas/Petrol Station slogan for B.P.Petrol years ago. The ad would say “B.P. The Quiet Achiever”. For some reason, this slogan suits Edward and Sophie. 🇦🇺🤴🏻🐨🐧🕷🦘🌉🌊☀️👙🩱 🏄🏼‍♂️🏄🏼‍♀️

When l was growing up, my mother told me and my sisters, "Treat everyone the way you want to be treated." Edward did just that. Such a fantastic set up INCLUSIVITY BEACHES. Thank you Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh , for highlighting this wonderful initiative. Knowing that any one who needs assistance can experience the thrill and the healing powers of being in the ocean, of being on the sand, of going surfing., is remarkable. That surfboard with the chair access should be in every country, lots of them . The guy who had a special rock for his “buddy” and Edward offered to have a photo with him and the rock, was priceless. Thanks Edward. ❤ you have always inspired me with your quiet gentle approach, your ability to actively listen, to add appropriate humour at the right time. Love your wife, Sophie and your two wonderful children, Louise and James too. I’m a Yank, but have been a big fan of the Wessex family for many years now. Delightful family…Sophie, Edward and Louise do their family and the monarchy credit…and I am sure James will as well. Very pleased that he was finally elevated to Duchy of Edinburgh…and that they are playing a very prominent role now as senior working Royals…alongside his amazing sister…and William and Catherine’s family. I still hope Louise will opt to take up her HRH - she’s a great young lady…perhaps she will choose to after University.
@pollyanna1112
@pollyanna1112 11 месяцев назад
Thoroughly agree with you. I’m an Aussie 🇦🇺 and I’ve always appreciated the Wessex family - do we now call them the Edinburgh family, given the Royals take on the surname of their House / Dukedom / Earl. (Like how when William was Duke of Cambridge so his kiddos were George Charlotte Louis Cambridge, now they’re Wales) . Anyway …. Edward and Sophie have been delightful and natural from the onset. I remember when they got Engaged and Married. I also remember that because Sophie was around when Diana died, and she had very similar resemblances to Diana - attractive, blonde, short hair., apparently many folk in the public and press felt she was looking too much like Diana and it pained them to see her as it opened their grief up too much. I have total respect for Edward and Sophie because they wisely chose to have a long courtship (apx 7-8 years) before marrying and it’s certainly paid off so far. I wonder if Edwards relationship was part of the inspiration for William to also court Catherine for a long courtship, to make sure they were both ready, both suitable, and that Catherine understood as much as one could, the scope of what her life as a Royal could be . Edward and Sophie have managed to raise their two children away from the pressures of expectations forced upon them from the media and press. It’s been a delight to watch both Louise and James grow. Lady Louise has blossomed into a refreshingly, natural beauty. She has an understated elegance, a poise about her, beautiful posture too. I am not sure what career choice she might pursue after graduating at St.Andrews University, but like you, I do hope she chooses to take her birthright title of HRH.Princess and even if she doesn’t, I’d like to see her involved on some level with doing the work of a Senior Working Royal - I think it’s vital actually. When you look at the “slim downed” version, once anyone over the age of 70 dies or resigns - Kent’s. Gloucesters. Anne, Timothy. King Charles III, Queen Camilla. All that will be left will be William as King and Queen Catherine, Edward n Sophie. Depending on how old George is, he might still be at Uni himself, or in the Defence Forces or ?? We expect that Charlotte and Louis will be working Royals but they’re also being raised with the belief that they might not, that they need to have dreams and goals of their own future - become a Vet, a farmer, etc. If Louise took up some duty, she’d be able to support William and Catherine and then be a mentor for George Charlotte and Louis when it’s their turn. 🎉
