Man, talk about a player being robbed of his career. Ends his career with the EXACT same amount of home runs as his dad 319. Feel bad for him, I'll always keep my autographed photo of him with the Tigers though.
This sucks,I feel bad for him.To be told u can't play baseball anymore do to injury sucks. He was an awesome player. Ill never forget when he took that fans nachos back in Detroit.
as a cubs fan, I hated this guy always destroying us when we were against the brew crew, but this man had talent, he could’ve easily been a HoF. Man is a legend
What Prince is feeling must be a 2 fold world of emotions..1 he has been told that his professional baseball career is over. 2 if the doctors not diagnosed and treated his neck injury when they did, Prince's long term medical condition outcome might be much sadder. Thanks Prince for you outstanding professional play my brother...I'm sure every baseball front office GM enjoyed having you as part of their organization.
The big man never cries. It's sad to see a mans dream cut short because his body just can't handle it. As a brewer fan I'll forever remember prince fielder as the best left handed hitter to ever play in Milwaukee.
The most heart wrenching retirement of all time. Literally breaks my fkn heart man, as an astros fan, respect to Prince, many of great battles between Htown and the Brew Crew. Transcending color, as a young heavyset man, 1st baseman. I wanted TO BE Prince Fielder. I loved his game, his smile and his talent. We love you Prince
I’m a tigers fan and I respect the man so much and all he did for the in 2012 and 2013, those were years the tigers very successful, 2012 World Series and 2013 ALCS. Thank you Prince
Prince Fielder gave me some of my favorite memories as a young Brewers fan. Watching Braun and him go back to back. I remember listening to Fielder’s first grand slam on the radio before I went to bed. I think to us Brewers fans he’ll always be a legend.
To have your career ripped from you in your prime is so sad. This man was a first five year HOF guy. I’m a KC guy and when I first read this story I cried. He was a stand up guy with one of the best smiles in the majors. Miss you man
This guy deserved a ring. I've watched him ever since he got called up in Milwaukee. Not once was he ever this emotional. Baseball was his dream, his life, and his legacy. All of it cut short due to injuries. Prince.....you won't ever be forgotten big man!- brewers fan.
Dude baseball has been his whole life literally his old man played pro ball tough shit prince I hope you stay in the game somehow thanks for all your service!
So upsetting. Guy still had some left in the tank if only his body hadn't given up on him. And so abrupt. I'm a Mets fan, so it's hard to just root for some other team, but if I were an objective baseball fan, I'd pull for the Rangers so he could get that ring. You can say similar things about Papi on his retirement tour, but he has 3 rings already and a World Series MVP.
Prince I watched you absolutely destroy in the home run derby in St. Louis. Everyone was talking about Nelson "boom stick" Cruz in the stands but I kept saying wait till Prince! Wait till Prince! You unleashed bombs, sheer moon shots. Always hold your head up high, your a great major leaguer!
He's never someone I could picture shedding a tear growing up, my hands down favorite baseball player, and at the very least deserved 320, so the world could know that my word as good as his dad was he was even better
Im a diehard Red Sox fan….but Prince Fielder had some of the most prodigious home run power I have ever seen. 2007 was such an exciting year to follow him. He made the Brew Crew a very lovable team to root for, the Brewers were such an exciting team back then. When he went to Detroit w/ Miggy I couldn’t help but play MLB The Show as the Tigers with that 1-2 Punch and Verlander or Scherzer throwing gas. I was one of the many people to be in tears that day, watching a man whom had provided us so much joy and entertainment crying because he can longer play the game we all love.
an absolute class act, I remeber I was at a game at Fenway he hit a ball foul and when the inning was over he went over to the fans to make sure they we're okay. The game of baseball was so fortunate to have a player like Prince Fielder thank you.
Man this gets to me.... Prince was my hero back in the day growing up watching him playing with the Brewers I'm so thankful for the time that he gave us and everything he did
I can't believe that its been three years since this heart breaking tragedy. I couldn't believe the news when i heard it. When I saw the interview I couldn't help but cry. It is not fair for anyone to be robbed of the thing they do for a living and brings them joy. Prince Fielder will always be MY FAVORITE TEXAS RANGER!
For the little time he spent here in Texas, it didn't take long for us to become attached to him. Us Rangers fans were broken up about this bad. When his son started crying, that was a major tearjerker for me. Will always remember Prince Fielder here.
today there is crying in baseball...I was sad to see you leave Detroit. total player with class and humor. loved watching him and Cabrera having so much fun!
Aye prince buddy, you aint the only one crying rn. i just wana think you for all the good things you did for this team. I will always be your number one fan.
My fav moment in baseball history was when he ran to catch a fly ball in fouls territory missed it and then ate a chip from a fan. He always looked like he was having a blast out there
Prince I'm a tiger fan and you were my favorite player and help my team the I love have success making it to the world series and watching you hit those homers was the most beautiful thing. thank you
I somewhat know how it feels. I played baseball for 16 years from t ball to,coach pitch to fastpitch. The,last game,I,pitched i ended tearing some, thing in my arm and I was NO longer to throw a base ball or a football. So my career ended to soon. And,I haven't,thrown a ball in over 9 years
Brew crew fan in the national league I'm a Boston fan in American but prince was amazing in Milwaukee great attitude and Soo much power he had it's hard but be with your boys and wife and enjoy life
No matter what ever happens, Bill Lee always said you'll never be out of baseball. I think Fielder will attempt a comeback in the future with a new swing that does not put strain on his neck
GOD! this was tough to watch. I know hes got money and blah blah blah but you can tell this hurt this man deep and sincerely. And that type s#it aint really cool. I mean like he says this dudes been in an MLB clubhouse since he could walk phuk thats gotta be tough. Stay strong mr fielder, you're STILL the man!.
Hes been in a MLB clubhouse since he was in middle school. The fact that a homerun derby champions career was cut short makes ME sad. I would rather see my former brewer win than not be able to play baseball at all. 😭
