He should be the Lord of the Blood Elves! Kael'thas for king! Make Quel'thalas great again! But seriously, he totally should still be around, redeemed and as a reapected faction leader.
Yes. Me too. Because he only wanted to save his people. Blood elves were always abused racially and never really respected by anyone so he got really angry on the whole world. Hence the line the world shall burn
Does anyone else feel like Kael got killed off solely so players would have new content with which to amuse themselves? At least when other formerly "good" characters went batshit evil, there was a lot of good buildup and logic behind it. With Kael, it feels... well, like I said; like he randomly went crazy because they needed to make up some new content. Why would he ally with the very same entity that created the Lich King in the first place and thus destroyed his homeland and people? It makes little sense. Imagine if he'd stuck around. Lor'themar is pretty cool and all, but Kael'thas would've been a bitchin' faction leader... and it would've been nice to have one of them be something other than a Warrior or a Priest for a change.

JackWessNevuxThe whole point of making Arthas the LK's champion was so that the Scourge could break away from the Legion. The Scourge destroying Quel'thalas was the Legions plan all along. So yeah, it makes no sense... Kael'thas pledged his service to the Kil'jaeden, who created the Lich King and set its course. By the time Illidan was sent to destroy the LK, the Legion had no further use for the Scourge, and Arthas was already breaking away anyway.
slightlyoutofreach01 You speak from my heart. It really gives me a big drop of bitterness toward WoW that they killed off Kael. It would totally be for the better of the belves, the Horde and the whole lore if he was in Silvermoon... redeeming hin would not have been that hard... but as you said, they wanted content and sold him out - cheaply i might add. Well, we will always remember him as we know he really was. One does not need to accept the canon.
I like how many people are attributing his fall to Jaina choosing someone else over him, and not the genocide of his people, absolute destruction of his homeland and getting zero help from anyone but the Naga.
Aside from a few new characters (Varian) and some old ones voiced by new voice actors (Sylvanas' VA in particular is amazing), the original VAs always knocked the others out of the park with their OGs. Kel'Thuzad, Tyrande, Malfurion, Muradin, Uther, and Kael'thas all had phenomenal acting, though Quinton Flynn probably did the best of all WoW here. That rage is real.
I'd pay good money for him to say that famous Home Alone 2 scene: "Hold it right there! I could smell ya gettin off the elevator. You was here last night too wasn't ya?"
With his speech in the beginning he sounds like a crazy lunatic, and after the fight goes on you can hear the exhaustion and madness in his voice... Such a lore-heavy character, too much happened for him being able to handle it.
Well you have to understand that in The Eye Kael'thas thought he was invincible, Now he knows he is weak and, therefor Desperate to accomplish what he has sought out to do.

Same here. Thought it was one of the orbs floating behind him, since I couldn't see a third one when fighting him. Checked ut on it later, and according to wowwiki, that crystal was a part of the keep(you know, those crystals beneath the see-through floors in the keep) that he was impaled on after his defeat. Plus all his three orbs are showing in one of the patch 2.4 artworks. Guess he didn't care much for his looks after that :P Poor manipulated blood elf...

(after we kill Sargeras) the dead Titan lies before you but then you hear a sound coming from inside the corpse suddenly his head splits open and out jumps a massive Fel Rever with a Blood Elven head and then you hear it. "Don't look so smug but Magister's Terrace was merely a setback!"
@Jade93095 Yes, I think so too, but at least she'd have been there to try & keep him on track. Her influence might have been enough to calm him down a little & make him actually look before he leapt. That, or he'd have corrupted her, which is just as delicious. Chaotic neutral Tyrande, anyone? :D
I think his fall was actually quite harrowing. While, admittedly, sloppily written, his dying speech of "For... Quel'thalas...!" in Tempest Keep contrasted with his one here "You will drown in your own blood!"... It's clear that he's gone insane. But at the end of the day, all he wanted was to save his people.
