Never knew this game existed until I stumbled upon this video, so there was a classic remake nice! Some cool new features, but with respect for the great 1989 original
@@OchitosBuritos True, but it was way more risky than it is here. The reach of guards is far lower than the original game, and if they hit you without your sword drawn it's an instant kill.
@@handesonrenatoguimaraes2615 I remember that about the original. It was pretty spectacular how it felt when you switched directions from maybe left to right. Very smooth.
Our hero engages a royal guard in a mortal duel! The guard delivers a mighty upper blow, but our hero skillfully blocks the attack! Scimitars clinches... both knows each other are worthy opponents... they pull their weapons free while swapping places in a sort of dance of death... Eye on eye, clenched teeth, every movement carefully studied, finding an opening in the enemy defenses... . . . . (sheathes sword) - See ya! (runs)
They should make a proper, hand drawn 2D remake instead of using this kind of graphics. I enjoyed the original version for what it was, a ground breaking masterpiece. This version is nothing more than solid quality unity project ported as a mobile game you play and forget it exists.
Great work! Actually, 1st level can cheated in faster way: initially when you fall to the second screen, go right to guard (yes, being without sword), tease him as long as you can, then move back to the left screen - the guard will follow you. Now again - go to the left part of this screen and wait until guard come closer to you and only then start climbing and go to the left. Now just go up, up, up - to the right where you started the game. Fall down to the second screen again - but this time the guard will be from the left of you, so you can freely run to the right until the level exit. Don’t worry that you’re still without the sword, anyway you start 2nd level wit the sword.
7:54 instead of going through the door I've discovered another shortcut. Drop to the lower platform, go right and drop again. The Prince will not die of falling instead hold onto a liege. You can drop again from their.
And now we shall live in this Palace in a serious state of disrepair!!! Also did anyone else kind of chuckle whenever he put his sword away and took off like a "see ya" moment?
Minor spoilers: I like how in this new version, Jafar makes you do a rematch with the fat boss from Level 6 before having the final fight outside the princess’s chamber.
There is no difference between standing jump and running jump, is there? Also the running jump needing just one tile to jump again makes the animation stutter and looks horrible. But the new moves are actually really good and useful as it seems. Somebody should make a modified classical prince with these moves added without the other changes this version makes.
Also I absolutelly detest the artstyle. Lets make everything so overdone that we need to plaster all interactive tiles with glowing sigil just to make them stand out. Enemies too are just mess of grey boring overdone stuff. More is not always better.
In the original game for DOS you can skip getting the sword in lvl 1 , you just lure the guard and drop from above making it way shorter in terms of time trial . Maybe the fixed it in this one , i never played it ,just sayi' check it out maybe it saves more time
precious time was wasted on turning around for a jump when you could hold the jump button after lifting up from hanging and then point behind the prince to backflip immediately
For the boss fights, they really should have had a moving/zooming camera to get closer in on the action. Like they had in older fight games like on Neo Geo. Graphics for this game are good but too far away for the boss fights to have any impact.
+mrkerekespeter I think you could be even faster though. When you jump and grab a ledge you could lean yourself towards using roll button + direction buttons.
I mean when you fall, and there's a ledge nerby, you can press the roll button + directional buttons to lean towards instead of grabbing the ledge and fall vertically. I think it's pretty handy and could save a lot of time along a run. Using this at 11:46 the prince could just land behind the guard and go to the door immediately.
