Not only does it makes sense from a business standpoint to continue with Assassin's Creed, since it's a huge financial success everytime, but Prince of Persia as a franchise, while being a critical darling, never had that. Obviously the upcoming remake will gather some interest.
Sai Kiran in this vid’s timeline AC slowly died after 3 due to the story was completed with Desmond’s death. They later begun an “Abstergo series” spinoff where you travel on multiple locations through animus living old warriors life, like Ancient Greece, Vikings Era, Egypt and so on, typical action games with some rpg elements but completely unrelated to the main AC story in the same universe tho. Ubisoft after a while wanted to give the pop series a last chance so they were about to make a warrior within prequel Sands of time sequel, which lead them to 2 choices. Going mainstream with a soft reboot type of the typical action game and so a 2008 old project named Forgotten Sands came back. Or going raw to a more aggressive approach like WW had with darker theme and more violent gameplay and a story showcasing how prince changed from the soft boy of SoT to the warrior of WW. And so a new project named Redemption came forth.
The remake is awful, but this here is not actual gameplay, no way. This is the typical CG game trailer, like Killzone 2 and Eight Days. Watch Eight Days trailer from 2006, those animations will blow your mind.
uploader is probably ubisoft employee who kept video unlisted(meaning you can see it only if you get the link from uploader or someone who already got the link) until it was 100% certain that project will never see the light of day.
@@ecchicharmed It's from some other ubisoft developer. Video was probably unlisted. Unlisted videos and playlists can be seen and shared by anyone with the link. So someone in ubisoft who got the link from uploader sent the link to developer dude who commented 2 years ago.
@@edsonjunior5986 lol as much as I love the edgy Prince, I actually really liked how he matured in tt, he learned that he can't erase his past mistakes by killing the "bad guy" and that he isn't above consequences. But the dark prince's combat gameplay was trash tho, it was just button mashing.
@@beardbeardedbeardsbeardedh9374 Agreed, except on the Dark Prince part. I keep learning new combos everytime I play through it again just by using the combo-list. You can however proceed by smashing buttons tho.
@@debozebuurman It's been a while since I played tt so I can't recall exactly how it was but I remember that I felt the dark prince gameplay was lacking compared to the normal gameplay, but I might give it another go to see the combos :)
@@latarani2799 bro shut up this and the remake would be great for us PoP fans, Ubisoft has made Assassin's Creed for the past 15 years and have forgotten where it all started from: Prince of Persia
THE ONES ASKING WHY DID THIS GO UNNOTICED FOR 8 YEARS BECAUSE IT WAS PRIVATE/ UNLISTED TILL NOW THEY WANT TO CREATE HYPE TO SEE WETHER POP HAS STILL THE SAME FANBASE OR NO
If so, then I hope sooooo much it will work ! We've all been waiting for this game for way too long ! If they really think of making a new POP game, it means Ubi could finally be releasing a verry good game like they almost never did in years ! (except if they screw it up unfortunately...)
@@ThatShortPersonTM Well, it might be from an actual engine but sure isn't real gameplay yeah. Some telltale signs that give it away. More than likely a proof of concept that was shown during a meeting for what they intended the game to be like.
Most people think RU-vid's algorithms are like a river that flows swift and sure in one direction, but I have seen the face and I can tell you they are wrong. RU-vid's algorithms are an ocean in a storm.
Loved the dynamic camera for every action. That alone give this a 10/10 rating. The animations especially the jumps and wall running were fucking flawless and fluid. I just don't understand how the developer that made this can't do the same to assassin's creed.
You have to understand that it isn't gameplay from a canceled video game nor a vertical slice, as they call it; it's pre rendered animated video, meant for producers for potential greenlighting of a production. That's why the animations seemed so smooth. Honestly, it's an unfortunate situation that Ubisoft didn't have the confidence in the franchise to move forward with this. Let's hope the upcoming remake is successful.
@@FraserSouris an overly produced trailer that looked better then a large portion of the full length action games that were farted out over the course of the decade
@@jeremyallen492 You at least have a game to play regardless of your opinion on them. Prince of Persia Redemption only exists as this trailer which might not even be real of the game it was about
It is just like one of those things when you say you need a lawnmower near your phone and facebook gives you ads for a lawnmower. I have been playing Warrior Within lately. That is why we all have been getting this on our feeds.
@@rohambahraee Even tough I think i'm one of the 1% who are actually hyped for Valhala, POP is unbeatable. It's the game that made me fall in love with gaming all together. It's just they abandoned a really good series:) And they could've told so many stories, POP's universe culture is rich.
@@abdelkadersefraoui I don't know if you heard that the director of the first assassin's creed said that the game's name was prince of persia the assassin cause both come from the same orgin
But that doesn't explain it at all. If he traveled back in time to 2012 to upload it, he still uploaded it in 2012. 8 years ago, and it's been on RU-vid for 8 years either way.
Every other game in the demo: GAMEPLAY GAMEPLAY GAMEPLAY Ubisoft, a company which bought exclusive ad rights for Valhalla: trailer with more cuts than an MCU fight scene
*Guys this video was uploaded 8 years ago, but it was always unlisted (meaning you can't search the video and only watch it if you have the link) and the uploader (probably ubisoft employee) gave the link to websites like Digital Foundry where all the views came from.* _Maybe it's a marketing campaign or a lost cause. One thing is for sure, people want a good Prince of Persia game and not a Cash Grab from ubisoft._
@Mr. Ditkovitchit has been said in real life the founder of persian assassins , hassan sabah traveled to Egypt when he was young and leaned everything he knew in there
Interesting. It seems to integrate some elements from the 2008 game in terms of constant flow for movement and even some of the teleporting powers as well! And I like the changes in more up close camera angles for combat and the cinematic shots which remind me of sections from the Uncharted games.
Rumors about the new Prince of Persia start floating around. Suddenly someone unravels an 8 years old footage of unreleased PoP game. Coincidence? Don't think so.
Even if it's just coincidence...I think they are trying to revive pop...I mean ...for honor and an other pop vr game...pop with the latest graphics would be awesome
There's also that video of another non-blocky voxel game prototype that Notch posted ... and I blank on how long ago. But if you go searching you might find golden nuggets.
Lol it's nice to see that I'm not the only one who was disappointed with the remake reveal and came here. I was kinda hoping that this was this game ubi was going to bring back. This trailer still looks amazing. Pretty sad we never got this game. But I am gonna give the remake the benefit of the doubt till I see some actual gameplay. Hope they refine the combat at least.
Comparing how many people liked this against the reception of the latest ac:valhalla trailer speaks volumes about what people really want to see in gaming...I'd certainly like to see POP back!
actually a lot of people are excited about Valhalla and if you actually listen to what the devs are saying of you have any idea how they are approaching AC story, you'll know those games are headed in a great direction
Fábio Lobo I mean I like this Demo and would love to see PoP. But I was actually pretty hyped with Valhalla, and I wasn’t excited for an AC game since Revelations. Not even AC III.
people doesn't like the new valhalla trailer because they were promised a gameplay reveal but the trailer barely contains any gameplay, not because they're not excited about the game
@@ivandarmawan9372 thats fair! I too was expecting more of a "demo" than a graphics showcase. I guess im just burned out of open worlds that end up feeling a bit empty on meaningful content, so i miss the more linear stuff. I couldnt really get into Origins and i havent played AC since then.
@@poko60 it doesnt matter what dev say, the final product will show, and last game had nothing to do with AC. But again, I'm kinda excited to see Valhalla, but they should have just ended AC franchise and start new universe.
Ohh...My Prince Dastaan I have been waiting since Ages to have a glimpse of your fascinating and enchanting tale...I feel your pain of being trapped in time.
This video proves to us that no matter how much you get criticized by others finish what is in your hands and go on don't stop! People could like what you've exported in another time you only have to believe in yourself, believe in what your hands can do
God of war 4 utilizes similar fight style and camera angle. So this concept was way ahead of its time. Shame Ubisoft did not converted it to full game.
@Warrior within It was a cinamatic platformer's logical leap into the third dimension, far better than walking talking crap we see today and players back in the day didn't expect the franchise to be a combat oriented series and were perfectly fine with it. It had 5 games and a film made on it within the span of a decade. I think that speaks for it's popularity.
@Warrior within I feel it has enough variety, but it doesn't encourages or incentivises the player to learn the combos. Still, which other games can you say had a better combat than WW, apart from Batman Arkham games?
Agree, I've played 3 AC games and it felt like I've played same game 3 times - new AC games don't appeal to me at all. I would like to see more Prince of Persia, Sands of Time is still my favourite one.
Let's contribute to public reaction: There is still demand on PoP franchise, with real stakes, great story and amazing music. Would gladly get a copy if a new instalment dropped by. Was kinda dissapointed earlier this year, that there was no follow-up to the VR version. Saw that rather as a delayed bonus to Forgotten Sands than a new PoP experience.
As some who's played all prince of Persia games repeatedly over and over again, its so refreshing to see something new! Well, sure its 8 years ago but DAMN! I WANT IT
i doubt something like this is out or coming, but I would definitely play that, looks awesome...i love pretty much every pop game that came out and finished 5 of them, still love them today and playing
More advanced for that generation? In 2012 there was already Max Payne 3, Uncharted 3, Crysis 2, Far Cry 3, Dishonored, Batman Arkham City, God of War 3 - games that have similiar gameplay and graphics to this, or even better.
It was ulisted by the uploader, it was only visible with a link that uploader only had it, the comment for 2 years ago is one of ubisoft technical staffs and probably his or her Colleague.
@@jenishmaharjan9655 Ofcourse the graphics of Valhalla will be better, because that's not even released yet. And this game is a cancelled POP game from 2012 or maybe even before that. I still liked this more.
And I use to die over and over and over playing this on Sega after school and loom at how far he came.man I loved the sands of time game it was great movie was alright too i just love this series lol
when they try to innovate every one back them blast them dude , we gamers made them this way do you remember pop 2 every one hated the metroidvania style map and time mechanics (even tho it was ahead of its time , look at dark souls/the surge/bloodborne and how every one praised it now hub world became cool !!!! ) do you remember pop 2008 top notch graphics top notch music amazing animations good writing and characters has a zen feel , it was unique , then it was blasted because people thought that it was too easy and sold nothing !!! remember pop forgotten sands that game was different for each console , it was crazy !!! also it sold nothing and then look at assassin's creed same game boring gameplay , confusing story , sold millions edit : fixed numbers errors
Oh my god! This is awesome, what happened to production? Please reboot the Prince of Persia franchise, as it’s a game we grew up playing. Give us back our Prince of Persia.
My love for this franchise never died since my childhood. I keep listening to the game's music. I still replay the games from time to time. And now you tell me that this is the second cancelled pop game after kindred blades? Ubi did this franchise dirty by letting it die so they can sell AC games.
PoP was honestly one of the best gaming experiences of my childhood. Why can't ubisoft see the potential of this great franchise. Ubisoft if you are seeing this comment section, then you know how much this game means to us fans.. Pls make this happen
It looks like Ubisoft cancelled this because POP profit rights were still hugely owned by the creator of POP Jordan Mechner and hance profit was reasonably less.Dear Ubisoft please dont waste money on another Assassins creed but revive the POP series instead and you will get back the love of your fans
absolutely man. i never really played AC. i always hated that it was similar to POP but not really. sad for us, Ubisoft has forgotten the loyal gamers of old times.
