Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Nintendo Switch Review - Is It Worth It? 

Metroidvania Prince of Persia was not on my bingo card for 2024 in gaming but I’m not upset about it! (Konami, where you at?)

This game seems like the perfect blend of Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Hollow Knight. And with those being 2 of the games in personal top 10, that makes me extremely excited to dive into this.

Didn’t get to play the PS2 era games, but this one is a must have for what I see. Props to the Devs making this good looking game, I hope it sells a lot to guarantee more in this style

Dang, I didn’t expect a Metroidvania-esque Prince of Persia game from the Rayman devs to be one of my most anticipated games from this year, and yet here we are. Even as someone who isn’t the biggest PoP fan, as a Metroidvania enthusiast, this looks like a genuinely impressive and fun time. And I certainly can’t wait to try it for myself due to how promising the demo was. Also, just as an FYI, the devs actually specifically developed this game for Switch and ported it to other consoles. Hence why it both runs and looks so great on it, since it was actually made for the system in mind, rather than scaled down to work on it.

Looking forward to this game. Great review because you didn't spoil all the even better bits about the game. Looking forward to discovering the best of the game myself.

I hope the game sells so well that ubisoft decides to make more prince of persia games and we might get a new 3D one

I would rate this game so close to a 10 that it would round up anyway. It's such a well put together (arguably) masterpiece. And to hear that it runs incredibly well on the switch just makes it all that much more impressive. This game is absolutely a must play if you like metroidvanias, like Ori, Hollow Knight, or Metroid Dread. It's basically impossible to beat Hollow Knight, but this game is definitely up there. Highly, highly recommend this game to just about anyone

Been playing the demo and it's fantastic. Reminds me of the pc prince of Persia game but with metroid dread added to it. Can't wait to get my hands on the full game

I appreciate this review. I already played some of the demo earlier but had to go to work. Going to play more tomorrow. I really like it so far and will probably get the Deluxe Edition on Switch. To anyone wanting the Sands of Time Remake... just support POP: The Lost Crown and we (the POP fanbase) will get the remake soon enough. Really! 🤙🏽

This looks absolutely incredible. I just finished Metroid Dread (9.5/10 game, for sure). I'm sure Ubisoft nailed this.

I am getting bits and pieces of other games that I have played in this game. Amulet and amulet system - charms of Hollow Knight Wak-Wak trees - bench of Hollow Knight/grace of Elden Ring Platforming (on wood especially) feels like Dead Cells Collecting Xerxes - feels like collecting strawberries in Celeste Boss fights animation feels like in Metroid Dread There is this exploding enemy in Catacombs that feels like the bugs in Greenpath in Hollow Knight Travel points feel like Stagways in Hollow Knight Fariba's character is like Cornifer lol There is also this animation when you're hit and the sound is kinda muted - I only encountered this in HK Don't get me wrong, it has a character of its own coming from the mechanics of the PoP franchise, and I cannot say that I am not enjoying the game. It is a good blend of different games and I am excited to finish. I am a huge fan of the games I compared it with - I just can't think of something unique and new that it brings to the table.

I'm going to try the demo now that it's available, but there's a good chance I'll get this one quickly. I remember the original Prince of Persia game and while I liked the Sands of Time trilogy a return to form is welcome!

Just this week I watched the video I Finished A Video Game did on the franchise. Didn't play any Persia game but I do know see the significance of this game! I might pick it up as the release date is my birthday.😇

Loved this. There is so much to do. And it feels so much like metroid dread. Though i have some issues regarding their depiction , that doesnt take away from the otherwise cultural appropriateness. Definitely want a sequel

Why is nobody talking about the fact that rumble is broken on the Switch version of The Lost Crown? Whether you are using a pro controller or joy-cons, only the left side of the controller produces any vibration. This is annoying AF. 😡😡😡

I’m torn.. I love princess of Persia, and this game does look amazing. But….. it is Ubisoft…. The whole get used to not owning your game thing makes me hesitant to support this company.. Not to mention their games almost always get a major price reduction around 6 months after release..

Honestly its ok but the fact when you die you have to go all the way back to a tree makes you want to stop playing or at least smash through the dialogue and avoid enemies after a certain amount of time, not explore. And this is something not talked about in reviews. Honestly wish i could get my money back and buy it on sale. I dont have time to die instantly for a platforming chance and go back 10 minutes in the map. Makes the game honestly terrible. Metroid dread was never like this and its way more difficult

Game looks cool...but why did they make the "Prince" of Persia look Jamaican? With so few games taking place in the Middle-East, they could have made him actually look Persian. Very strange character choice

The difference in the visuals between the Switch version and any other version are pretty noticeable actually. Don't downplay it to make the Switch look better than it really is

Copying new games and making a budget Hades and metroid Dread with zoomed out rayman platforming and inferior lighting to the prince of persia sands games with little ambience and not enough hack and slash and time freeze-why? It looks like an assassin's creed battle system but why? That combat does not play with the camera and physics like the sands of time game. This is just not enough of a unique game. Not original when those 3d games are 90% original in how they play. It is guaranteed that Hades and Hades 2 are going to feel more fluid and even the original sands of time than this game will. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This actually looks amazing. I love dread and ori but a lot of these kind of games don’t appeal to me but this one has potential and a perfect switch type game.

Im geting the physical copy of this game for my Switch Oled. Tryed the demo on my PS4 and love it.

Tiny correction but i wouldnt be calling this a "switch port." The Switch was the target development platform so this is really just a native Switch game through and through. Not a port like most other third party multiplatform titles!

i personally recommend to wait for few months before purchasing. knowing Ubisoft, they usually mark down their games 30% after 6 months and 50%-70% on their first year. (Mario+Rabbid Spark of Hope I'm looking 👀at you.)
