Experience the classic tale that redefined action-adventure gaming in The Sands of Time Remake, the first full-scale remake of Prince of Persia by Ubisoft. Available January 21, 2021.
@youssef akoudad what makes you come to that conclusion? They delayed the game tilll post March 2023. It was planned for an 2021 Release. Genuine question
I only found out that this existed because the day it was supposed to release is the highest point that Ubisoft stock has been in a heck of a long time. It's basically worth a fifth of what it was then.
At least it's not actually cancelled but delayed. But honestly though, I'd rather have them not make a remake at all if it's going to turn out like GTA Trilogy DE. I don't want...WE don't want our childhood game to be disrespected by coming up with a rushed product. I'm actually glad they're taking extra time to polish the game.
Got revealed in 2020 meant for 2021 release. Criticized by everyone for its poor state and delayed indefinitely. Got scraped completely and now is set for 2026. 6 years later lol
@@sucukmitei5436 the trailer looks beautiful compared to the original game yet people were complaining about it's graphics. they don't deserve a remake neither remaster
@@catagorygaming6481 i mean, a 2010 game graphics looks great compared to the original pop game, but we are in 2022, so if you gonna buy a full price game i think you want at least graphics of the actual generation, right? your comparasion was kinda ankward
@@caiocristian126 i don't think the trailer looks anything like it was made in " 2010 " , the remake looks decent for a 2004 game. it's kinda sad to see how obsessed people became with graphics & how they don't even know which era the graphics are from. if it was an actual new POP title than i would've criticized it but as a remake i won't. I'm more than happy that i got a remake 👍🏻
@@headie3737 it's pretty ironic that you think Sands of Time Remake has to he competitive lol it's gonna compete with what Assassins Creed Remake ? pretty sure 90% of the so called " gamers " who cries for better graphics can't even tell the difference between low & high graphics without looking at the settings
Alpha is the stage when key gameplay functionality is implemented, and assets are partially finished. A game in alpha is feature complete, that is, game is playable and contains all the major features. These features may be further revised based on testing and feedback ; the LITERAL definition of the word 'alpha' in gaming, straight from Wikipedia just for u, as u seems rather dim
@@adaptorperish1322 the only games they put effort into are R6 and AC. R6 is a BIG money maker for them. Legion may be a game changer, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
Update : Main Ubisoft team ( Ubisoft Montreal) will develop the game from scrap they will not use anything from this game. And the director said there will be no info for this remake for upcoming 1.5 years so u can say it will come around early 2025
2019 Ubisoft: Lets show audiences pre rendered ultra graphics in trailer and then we will downgrade later 2020 Ubisoft: Why to waste time, Lets show audiences downgraded graphics in trailer itself.
I think they found a build for a 2010 mobile version, but then decided to redo some animations and port it to big consoles...to charge €40 for it. I don’t care much for pretty graphics in my games, but this looks bad. This clearly needs more work, which they don’t have (unless it’s gonna be delayed).
its kind of funny that the internet bullied them for so many years and they never listened to them until this trailer came out an now they are starting to listen. cause for the past few years we been getting unpolished games and I would say basically every game that came out.
Im glad to see yuri lowenthal retaining his role and he brings even more life to the prince at 1:35 the way he says "farah!" is done flawlessly and does sound like an actual middle eastern.
Bcoz it has been developed fully by Ubisoft INDIA. Whenever Indians do any bizarre and wonderful works there are many people who are unable to digest it.
It’s not about the graphics but the clear lack of understanding of the original game from this studio. It lacks all the charm and passion the original had
Did some digging, and if anyone is interested here is what I found: The remake was originally worked on by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, but moved to Ubisoft Montreal (iirc they made the original?). They said it went back to conception stage, and it may be because of community feedback? Feedback was mentioned a bit, so hopefully graphics are better anyway. They said to not expect any news this year, but it is still being worked on. Guess we'll just have to wait for more news at this point
@@plantxvibe9571 you shouldn't say worse than rdr2, it will give negative impression about rdr2. You should have said graphics doesn't catch upto rdr2 standard.
No real definitions when it comes to games. RE Remake is a remake because it has the sane gameplay but updated and a great graphical upgrade. RE2 Remake on the other hand has very different gameplay but still enhances the graphics considerably. Both are called remakes but one is way more faithful than the other.
@@nathanwhiting5475 It's still the same game, just better graphics. It doesn't matter if the graphics were "remade from the ground up". This is what most people would call a "remaster".
They gave this project to an upstart studio in India. They spent FOUR years trying to get this running only to be destroyed from this reveal trailer. Not even Montreal studio can salvage it. Lesson: Don't outsource your relaunch IP to a studio that hasn't proven it's worth.
@@Wolves437 I know, was just saying it's strange he said he waited 17 years for a new POP when the last one (TFS) came out in 2010, so 11 years ago. Unless he was talking about waiting for a Remake of SOT. in that case he's right.
This game is in Beta stage They r still improving See the latest ss they r much better This time Ubisoft is showing bad trailer then will launch better game
Except ubi has been doing really great lately as far as fans and games go sooo move on man stop living in the past. If you want a real target of a company that lies and takes advantage of customers attack rockstar.
Look at the Prince of Persia Official RU-vid Channel for new Graphics it looks better than this trailer because this trailer is a old version of the game
All i'm just seeing in the comments are people who complain about the graphics. Like i dont get why people would want a photorealistic prince of persia. Its like asking for a photorealistic version of the Borderlands series. I thought the point of video games was to escape reality. The developers have their own artstyle and they made it like this so deal with it people.

Actually it's like other games like marvel avengers in the trailer the graphics were disappointing but when the game realized they fixed it hope same happens here also
I feel like ya'll are exaggerating, imo this looks like an early PS4 game with devs getting used to the hardware, I'm just happy we got a new Prince of Persia game tbh

@@AFGsultanZ whats the release date now or we dont know that yet? im just glad its still in development pop was my childhood i hate that they arent making more pop games
@@laio_o Exact date hasn’t been given buts it’s likely to be either 2023 or maybe even 2024. But yes it’s still developing. Hopefully this brings back the series, just like I hope the new upcoming Assassins Creed brings back the old style of that franchise.
@@laio_o Investors meeting confirmed a late 2022 quarterly release or an early 2023 quarterly launch, mind you this was before Ubisoft pulled the project from their cheap labor support mobile sweatshop India based studios only to return said project to its Montreal creators Literally no idea if whatever said studios had been creating since 2017 was scrapped by Montreal to deliver an overall better product or if they're trying to salvage whatever they can to just get something out the door already since its been about a 5 year old project so far
Activision made the perfect Crash Bandicoot remake. Square Enix made the FF7 Remake a graphical revolution. And Ubisoft made the Prince of Persia Remake graphicly comparable to Assassins Creed 2.
Teams actually Pune / Mumbai forming over 300+ individuals bastardizing it but not really surprised since they are pretty much mobile sweatshop support studios that never done their own project
Nah, a remaster would take the original game and upper the res and maybe add in some new content, they remade this from the ground up even if it doesn't look on par with other games releasing around that time like AC Valhalla which is an offering from Ubisoft.
"Most people think time is like a river, that flows swiftly and surely in one direction, but I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong". The graphics and mechanics prove his point at 17 seconds, just as we expected to see how those elements of the game evolved in time. The signs were given, written in sand...
Dry Saliva All I gotta say is if this is how they’re gonna do Warrior Within I won’t be too happy. I’ll play it for the gameplay though just not the cutscenes.
