You should have tried the 14x18. Like you said like the pstour 90 but more forgiving. The 14x18 you can hit a surprising amount of spin. Rough on the arm though. Also how did you guys play with those grips without an overgrip.

I have the 14x18 version very recently 2nd hand. But due to bad weather i haven't been able to try it yet. Put a new set of solinco strings in it and i took off the leather grip and put head hydrosorb on it and lowered the balance a little bit, like i always do. Swing weight 329 on mine seems ok for a 93 head. Mine is normal length, so it seems yours is customised
@timefly4221
@timefly4221 3 года назад
The 14x18 is a fun frame. It’s pretty usable as long as you don’t expect massive power. I play with one for fun sometimes but I couldn’t get over the psychological aspects of losing a real match with a 93” frame and wondering why I am playing it.
@LarzB
@LarzB 3 года назад
@@timefly4221 It was not my intention to play matches with it. It's more a training tool with a smaller sweet spot. That's why i like the 14x18 as the density will seem similar to my match racket (ezone 98 16x19). I have customised the racket to match the other specs (only slightly higher swing weight).

I have played with the 93P for 18 months, and from experience, this is terrible string set-up. A racquet this small with a 18x20 pattern demands a thing gauge (17 or lower) strung at 50lbs or below. The racquets on this test would have played like a board with this set-up.
@rolandharris2706
@rolandharris2706 2 года назад
Good feedback. Many are suggesting similar but you are the first to state why.
@johnnyguitar6697
@johnnyguitar6697 2 года назад
@@rolandharris2706 The 93P is a very low powered racquet, so a thin gauge and a low tension are necessary to offset the lack of power and get any juice at all out of this frame. Especially in defense, if one doesn't have the time to set-up a full swing.
@rolandharris2706
@rolandharris2706 2 года назад
@@johnnyguitar6697 makes sense. Im a dead head and i dont mean the grateful dead either. There is a growing legion of tennis enthusiasts that crave the feeling of hitting with a zero power racket. We call ourselves dead heads. We need the deadest most under powered set up possible. My jack kramer gave out on me which was the most pristine hitting experience. It was a 70 sq in head with an 18 by 22 pattern with thick super tight string. Being able to swing as hard as you can and drop it in is awesome. The phantom is the closest we will get to satisfying our dead feel craving.
