I used to work for a company that was providing gear for Prince and his keyboardist. He was someone very talented, with an incredible ears that could hear every single tiny mistake by a band member… but he was unfortunately also suffering of deep depression. After he played purple rain in the rain during the Super Bowl, he was very depressed… it must be hard to live such ups & downs that very few people can know. As someone suffering also of clinical depression, everytime I hear this song, I have a thought for Prince; it reminds me that all glory, fame, money and celebrity status can’t help you when you’re suffering from the inside.

I always feel like this song is very depressing. I just watched the Syracuse version. And starting from the intro, with the raining guitar riff and pumping drum, it just makes me feel like it's the beating of a broken heart. It is so touching that my eyes got wet instantly.

Yay! I used the translate on this app or phone and it worked! I agree with you. Very impressive and while that guitar isn’t my style it’s ridiculous and also sounds excellent. That’s definitely a Prince guitar. He was so unrecognized for his guitar skills. He was up there with all the legends. He played every instrument too basically, what a talent. I don’t even really listen to prince but I could recognize how insanely God powered skill he was. He really was a genius.

You really need to check out John Petrucci's cover of Purple Rain. It's mind blowing. Definitely the best cover I have ever come across. He was ranked as the second best metal guitarist after Dave Mustaine. He was also named as one of the "Top 10 Greatest Guitar Shredders of All Time" by GuitarOne magazine. With the multitude of pickup switching, Plectrumelectrum would showcase the tonal capabilities beautifully, as would anything off of LOtUSFLOW3R, the inspiration of the lotus flower vine inlay in the neck. It's a rock machine that gets the endorphins going :-)

Buenas noches desde Colombia, tengo que decirle que soy un admirador de la interpretacion acústica de la guitarra del rock en especial esta cancion purple rain donde el punteo y arreglos suyos son magistrales, además le aplaudo los arreglos a november rain, son maravillosos. Sería interesante arreglo a la canción de Diré Straits es una de la grandes del Rock. Gracias..

First time I've ever listened to Purple Rain.... Still don't know what this is about? The guitar, the music, Prince the man, Kfir? However, in any case, great vibrato.
