I glad the first day started out fine. Little hiccups are always expected. My favorite cruise during is a Long Island Ice tea even though I’m from Maine. Thank you for bring us along

That’s one of our go to mixed drinks too! We do discover a unique bar on the ship that fills the gap with some interesting drink options. Drink brands are a small issue when in such a beautiful vacation. 😉

Just watched this video. Great job!! You both seem very relaxed on camera which makes the videos fun to watch. We have been on that ship. We loved the back pool, mainly because of the shade opportunities. I am a sun lover but my husband is not supposed to be in the sun. NO CROWN!! Crazy! Looking forward to more videos.

Your cruise ship earrings are cute. I always wear my anchor earrings when I go on a cruise. I enjoyed this episode. I enjoy margaritas and my husband like crown Royal. He feels your pain.

Mrs Canuck also has anchor earrings with an anchor necklace - like you she likes to keep the ship theme in mind. They’ve gotta bring back Crown - or at least some sort of Canadian whisky.

Jill, I don't care for lanyards either. I had no idea cute bracelet types we were available when we went on our medallion cruise, so I ended up with the silicone sports band. It's OK but yours is awesome! Funny story, hubby thought our medallion sensor thingy was broken because it always had our name/info (he;s very private and wouldn't want our name constantly displayed) but we learned it just picks it up before you can see it, lol. And I also agree with Jill that Princess closets are awesome because they are long enough for evening gowns and the openness just makes them more useable. We've also had good closets on Norwegian. Love Boat for the win!!! I always watch it when on Princess (Mostly it just plays in background) I just have to say, I don't drink but even I know that Crown Royal is a staple!

Saw this one and decided to watch it because you said this was your favorite ship. I know this ship doesn't have an inside Italian restaurant that in the pre COVID days was included. Caribbean Princess is an older ship. Go for it. Would get a drink that goes with anything. Prosecco. Princess makes good Mousse. Prefer to take the stairs especially on the first day. Don't know if I would walk up or down those stairs. Aren't the doors supposed to open automatically when you walk down the hall with the medallion? The Ceiling in the shower looks low. Ah, t he gym, like to go there. Don't drink Crown Royal. It's like being in a casino. Drink Prosecco. I usually bring a change of clothes in my carry on. Don't like to be on an outside deck during sail away. You got your luggage. My wife loved souffle and anything with Hazelnut. Don't like to go to sail away parties. Usually 2300 hours is when the casino starts to heat up.

We were on the Majestic in March and our luggage was there probably by 1:30 in the afternoon! Certainly were advantages to only 50% of people on board!

Agree about not having a Lanyard, I was too tight and bought a pink plastic one....then on our second Princess cruise forgot to pack it and had to buy another LOL, yours is far classier! Not sure we like the names on the door.....though love the medallion app opening it. Interesting looking at an older Princess ship after just being on Sky Princess. Love the hat! Good tip about the swimsuits Try a Gentleman's Jack Bourbon, cheers!

Ya the whole Medallion and App were great concepts but the technology is still really wonky with bugs. When it worked it was excellent - but many people were lined up at guest services with app problems and errant charges on their account. We look forward to going from this ship to Sky Princess in January.

Hope you get a discount on Crown living that close! We did lots of experimenting with different drinks - not sure any of them were as good as Canadian whisky. Great trip though!

We are still working out details in Amsterdam, but have a couple things booked with the friends we are travelling with - so not sure we'll be able to head out with you. @@ronaldboonstra4834 IJmuiden on August 11 at 8am. We're still working out the details with our friends. We have tickets for the Anne Frank house around noon. So we're hoping to be wondering around Amsterdam that morning - just not sure of timing yet.

@@CruisingCanucks You probably leave the ship 10 am. Trip by couch will take about 45 to an hour depending traffic. Prepare for long lines at the Anne Frank house. I have no experience what waiting time is, if you already have a ticket booked. Anyway if you have any questions regarding to Amsterdam, feel free to ask.

Really enjoying this series. Watching for second time as we’re trying to decide between Caribbean Princess or Carnival Celebration. Am worried about the summer heat and it seemed to be a problem on this ship?

Most of the heat issue was to do with what we suspected was a single AC unit not working by and exit to the outside deck. The rest of the ship seemed to be okay, especially closed venues like dining and lounges. We'd hope/suspect they would have fixed that single AC unit by now.

The pool at the spa is usually relatively empty. Many people believe is only for passengers at the retreat, which is not! Get the bracelet ($12?) is plastic...three cruises so far 😂

I would suggest not letting your fear get in the way of the most amazing experience! Besides, the cruises are taking such excellent precautions it is almost safer than being on land.

We can relate as we were very worried about this on our New Years cruise. We would caution that you really need to me comfortable with no COVID measures to cruise right now. We saw very few people wearing masks and elevators often had 6-10 people without masks. The ship was at capacity and it was basically life as it was pre-COVID. We feel it’s safe (or wouldn’t be cruising) but it’s all about your comfort level and we wouldn’t want you to think there are masking rules in place. In saying that, there is CONSTANT cleaning and oversight of hand sanitization entering food venues. So they are doing that and all staff continue to all wear masks.

Twila Lebold: My fears are very valid. I've known several people that have died from covid. Even with the shots, long covidhas caused three people I know to suffer immense immensely. There will be other times to travel.

We feel the same way about cruising right now. We recently cancelled a HAL Northern Isles cruise for September because we just didn't like the look of the way Omicron BA5 is developing here in NZ, and in Europe. It might be safer on board ship than at home, but it's still a significant risk, particularly now they are removing Covid safety things like mask requirements - and at a time when the most contagious version of Covid is running rampant! Crazy to travel right now, IMHO. At least if we catch Covid at home, we'd have far less hassles and costs than catching it on the other side of the world. We have rebooked the same cruise for 2023.

Gasp! No rye is a disappointment but maybe try dark rum and Diet Coke? My go to drink is gin and tonic. The shower looks a little rough. Hope there is good AC in your cabin. We are HAL people 🇨🇦

Dark Rum and Diet was a good backup - but not quiet as good as rye. Another backup ended up being Maker's Mark and Diet. We just tried our first gin and tonic this weekend on our boat - it was pretty good!

We were one of the first onboard. Also keep in mind we do all we can not to inadvertently film other people. We were onboard before noon but there were some long lines behind us.

Princess Cruise is one of the cruises we're looking at out of Quebec City for the Eastern Canada cruise in August. How does it compare to Celebrity?

Sad to say we haven't cruised Celebrity - but plan to in the next year! We have spoken to people that have done both and they say they are very similar - kind of divided 50/50 as to what one is better.

Greetings from Montreal! I have been reading that some people find that the Princess cruises quality has dipped vs other cruise lines. Did you feel that on your trip?

Interesting! We have cruised over a dozen times in the last year and on Princess twice. We did not notice a dip in service on Princess but we did on other lines. It might depend on how long ago you cruised Princess. The longer back, the more likely you'd see a change. We loved Princess and trusted them so much that we hosted our daughter's wedding on the Sky Princess. It was wonderful.

For sure. The nightlife is geared to all ages (with a nightclub), and there is a mix of generations. Like many cruise lines you may find an older demographic is in the majority - but that depends on the time of year you cruise. Holidays, Summer, Spring Break are usually younger crowds and then the other times of years have more seniors. If you want the bumper cars, roller coasters, surfing pools, etc. then there's none of that on these ships though. But a classy, relaxing vacation with lots of nightlife and things to do - then this is the one.

If we board the ship in Southampton England, can we have our medallions delivered to our home? another vlogger had to collect his at the port as he flew out to Quebec, and only people out there could have their medallions sent to home. Someone said on a vlog that it's easier to have them sent to home.

We are unsure how it would work sailing out of South Hampton. We have never had them sent to our house. We have always picked them up at port.

I see your cabin has the same horrible shower we experienced on the Coral Princess, which is a similar vintage. The compartment is tiny and with the shower head on the 'ceiling', just above your head, it's hard to wet your whole body. In particular it is very difficult to rinse your nether regions. We loved just about everything else on the Coral Princess.
