July 4, 1976....as a young sailor, I was in Monaco. There we celebrated the US Bicentennial with the Royal family hosting a Giant celebration. She was so beautiful.
Saint Cyr I totally concur with you! I love how he says ‘19 AND X’, when speaking about a year. I love Jerry! Another great video Jerry! Love from Miami ✨✌🏼
Super classy, sharp dresser, great actress. Grace was a great name for her. Thank you for covering her life story. A true classic beauty. I adored her!
Beautifully narrated. I guess the lesson is, no one gets to live a fairytale all of their life. Grace was the same age as my mother and Grace's grandfather came from the same county (Mayo) in Ireland. So my mother always saw Grace as a heroine who had things my mother could never have; incredible beauty, poise, self-confidence, wealth, fame and the power to do good. She was very saddened by her untimely death, just as she was by the JFK assassination, two decades earlier. JFK and Grace were to my mother, the ultimate example of what Irish people could achieve, when unconstrained by the then limitations of their own country. Despite all that she had, Grace had, like all of us, her struggles and imperfections. In a ferociously competitive family and against her parents will, she threw a curve ball to become an actress, an Oscar winning actress. She was not a goddess, she was a real flesh and blood woman who was, unsurprisingly, attracted to men. She threw another curve ball by marrying her Mediterranean prince. In less than a year, she had to adjust as a new wife and mother to a new role, in a new country, with a new culture, and a new language. I always thought Prince Ranier looked restless and like he was carrying a lot of weight on his shoulders, as the sole ruler of his tiny vulnerable principality. He may also have had some post traumatic stress disorder from his wartime experiences. He aged prematurely as did Grace. There are reports of affairs by both parties in their marriage, who knows their veracity, frankly, who cares. What she and her husband did for the public good was of much greater importance than any private indiscretions they may have had. Some of the images of her in the decade before she died do show a sadness in her famous smile. She said herself she was struggling with the paparazzi and media lies in raising her kids. I think she was also very stressed by some poor life choices her kids made. In addition to what she did to promote Monaco, she used her fame and limited power in wider ways to support good causes, highlight injustices and support the arts and of course was and is a fashion icon. Hers was a life well lived, elegance personified, an astonishingly beautiful and great woman.
This is the first realistic account of Grace Kelly She had been very unhappy throughout her marriage so when I hear people say. She got her prince and lived happily ever after….to be just the opposite
I really like the way Jerry puts together these productions. The narrative and the accompaning photos easily holds the viewer's attention and provides the viewer with interesting facts about accomplished famous people.
Laurence Hoefler, I also like that he doesn't down play her being human, being flirty, etc..with no judgement. Very well done and stands apart from other such type videos. I'll have to watch more of his videos.
@@marysalvi242 His high quality standards used in describing their careers and lives makes his documentaries absorbing and easily holds your attention. I agree with your comment and thanks for giving me a thumbs up.
Such a beautiful but tragic story. A beautiful graceful smart lady in every way. I can see why my mother respected her so much and spoke about her to me. A real fairytale Princess. RIP Grace. Thanks for posting this marvelous video.
She was probably the most beautiful woman who ever lived. Born with a silver spoon, but wanted to work...could have done just about anything, but chose to work. God bless the Renaldi family.
G. Kelly had a bad relationship with her father. I read that nymphomania was her problem. The only male she did not have an affair with was J. Stewart because his wife was present when he did a movie with G. Kelly, knowing her reputation
One of my favorite movies is Rear Window. She was so beautiful. She truly lit up the screen when she appeared. The scene where they introduce her in Rear Window shows you how much she literally lit it up. When Jimmy Stewart opens his eyes and sees her looking like an angel was probably how she really looked when you met her. Just pure beautiful light.
I saw her once in a convertible Rolls Royce driving through Monaco with Prince Rainier. I was only about 6 ft from her she smiled and waved at me she was so beautiful.
Wow! That's a memory worth sharing. It must have been so exiting being in that crowd and yet being so close. You must be special for her to notice you in that crowd.♥️
Stefanie Mccoy - No crowds, my brother and I were on holiday with my parents in Monaco I was 15, we were walking up the hill toward Casino Sq, we stopped at the kerb to cross the road and that was when their chauffeur driven car drove past us. The roof was down and they were sitting in the back seat.
Your videos are excellent!! I have learned so much, about people and places, from you!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into them, they're greatly appreciated!!
Agreed, and the narration was very articulate and gives a well rounded story presentation. Just angry psychopaths on the internet with no other means of causing pain and misery give unjust criticisms.
Mr. Skinner, I would like to thank you for bringing so much joy into my life... You are amazing and I love Hollywood, and you allow me to if only for a moment to live with these gifted people... Thank you Sir...
Her name is so fitting!! She radiates beauty from within! So Graceful! Bless her soul!! Marilyn Monroe born the same year! Such a struggle she had in more ways than one. Bless her soul too! Miss Monroe was gorgeous as well! Too different women both beautiful in their own wonderful way! 💋
Your wrong about MM being born in the same year as Grace when in fact MM was born on June 1,1926. But I agree with your comments on both Grace and Marilyn though .
I have to be very patient with ignorant people who do not respect the opinion of others. Praise for Grace Kelly's beauty has always been and always will be. But many people have already said that Grace Kelly's daughters are beautiful, but not at the level of their mother's beauty. This is not being superficial, it is just looking at the aesthetic side. As if it were Mis contest. Do not judge people without knowing or make stupid comments. Freedom of expression my dear.
Yes, but haven't you seen the stunning Princess Charlotte, spitting image of her stunning MOTHER, Princess Caroline! Both far superior to Princess Grace in facial beauty..
Very nice tribute. That’s kind to point out that mothers and daughters arguing are pretty normal. I am sure Stephanie felt a lot of guilt over something she had no control over. RIP Princess Grace.
My wife is a dead ringer for Priness Grace. Not kidding. A number of years ago we were in Monte Carlo & took a your tour of the palace. My wife had her hair put up & the big portrait of the family shows Grace with her hair up. Anyway, we exited the palace & into the castle yard & walked toward the gardens & noticed that people kept looking at us. I thought something was wrong & looked at both of us up & down. Nothing wrong. People still kept turning & looking & then it finally hit me. I said to my wife as it finally dawned on me, with her sunglasses on on & her hair up. I said: Hon, do you know why they're staring at us? YOU look almost identical to Grace Kelly in that photo. Incredible experience.
XtreamBrands Doesn’t Jerry have the best voice? I also absolutely adore how he says ‘19 AND X’ when referring to a year. Thanks for another great video Jerry! Love from Miami ✨✌🏼
Another great, entertaining, and informative video! It's like Christmas when I see one of Jerry Skinner's videos pop up in my notifications, thanks for this gift. I loved it!
Another great production, Mr. Jerry. You are officially my favorite narrator. Thank you for continuing to make these high-quality, informative and entertaining videos. I always look forward to your new submissions. Rock on, my friend.
A great story about America's most loved princess. It's ironic that both Princess Grace and Princess Diana were involved in car wrecks at the time of their deaths, sad to have lost both of them too early!
you sound like the idiots that still believe Stephanie caused the wreck and death of her own mother Diana died in a wreck caused by Photographers and Grace died of a Stroke
One more thing, thank you Jerry for your wonderful videos. You research them very well and you have a lot of class. And I like your down home twang and your manner of speaking such 19 & 30 for 1930. Reminds me of my grandmother. And I like your brother's singing and guitar-playing as well. Keep them coming.
This was a great documentary. Thank you! I have never heard these facts before! But I had known about the accident since it happened...I graduated high school that year. I always felt extra bad got Princess Stephanie.
Thanks Jerry, never knew about the stroke, just the accident. Grace was a truly stunningly beautiful women! Thank you for the great job on the video, I love watching your productions and drop everything to watch! Rich
